    THANK YOU SO MUCH! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I did mine. It works! I did take the motor/module off before pulling the column because well, I'm a girl. 😅
Here's a secret, if you do it EXACTLY like Kenny shows, you don't need the diagnostics. Just make sure to turn the wheel all the way left, then all the way right a couple times before putting in gear. Worked for me. Saved a ton!!

Why does everyone take the whole column out? I did my daughters car and just removed the top half of the steering column, left the lower half with the motor in there, then removed the snap ring, sensor, then reinstalled. I learned this doing Ford Escapes. Same procedure. No reason I can see to take the whole thing out.

Please make a video so everyone can see how you did it without removing the whole entire steering column thank you

No additional video needed. I just did my daughter’s car as well. 100times simpler than pulling the entire unit! Pull all the plastic, I strapped down the wheel with a strap. Undid the two upper bolts, steering wheel and tilt assembly slide right off. Simple! I also didn’t have to reprogram my system. Can’t guarantee that for every one else, but it worked!

The black "tool" that comes with the new sensor is placed on top of the sensor and used to press the new sensor all the way in until the black piece is flush. This ensures the sensor is correctly seated before reinstalling the metal cap and snap ring.

I have a 2006 Pontiac Torrent SUV and i changed the EPS Motor without having to remove the Steering Colum, I only disconnected the Battery cause of the Air Bag. but I thought that the crackling noise was coming from the motor as i still have the popping noise then found the problem It's the small Universal Joint that the Colum connects to, in your Video.2:45

the worst part of this job to me is not taking the whole column out but dealing with the trim panels they are a nightmare to put them back specially the ones that wrap around the steering wheel. again is not a bad job but good luck dealing with the panels!

Very nice video. I have a 2012 Malibu that displayed the same failure code. It reset fine BUT I expect this will have to be done. The dealership wants $950 for the job. I may have to tackle this myself; if/when it displays again.

You know. That weedwacking was timed almost perfectly to you Turing the steering wheel.
So much so I thought that was the strangest PS pump I had ever heard. Haha

Thank you so much. But,what i was waiting for is how can i make a test to know whether the sensor or the motor of the power steering wheel that has the problem.

Can the heavy motor/mod be removed after battery disconnected? That would make the reinstall ALOT easier.
Great video!!! Nice job keeping it simple even though it's tight. You didn't break your back? I'm 5'5" female w/ med build and it sucks even with the seat removed.
I am going try it myself since it looks like the diagnotic software only checked that it was aligned properly before telling to do relearn process by turning all way left then right couple times. Am I understanding correctly on this, or no?
I would love answer from anyone who knows. Thx!
Had it all (module/motor and sensor) replaced by GM for free -100K miles but at 160K same problem again. Ugh.

I Replaced this sensor, and it worked for about 20 miles. Not sure if part is defective, or if something went wrong elsewhere.....now I look like an idiot that can't fix anything. Any car made after 2005 can burn and I wouldn't give 2 shits. Why the fuck can't they make something that works.....oh yeah, because you won't buy a new car if your old one still works. Nothing is designed to last, or even be worked on. I'm going to quit working on cars, and go live out of a shack in the woods.

On amazon the seller I bought the sensor from said if any teeth on sensor get chipped or broke during install, the sensor won't work. So it must happen pretty easy. Just an FYI.
Did you have the diagnostic software to calibrate it? He makes it look easy, as long as it's kept straight (lined up); then all it has to do is relearn by turning wheel all the way left then right a couple times?
I would love your or anyones' feedback on this.
If not it's 160.00 for shop to calibrate, still cheaper than the 700.00 diag pad. I would buy one if I could afford it.

Damn bud, it's ok! 😂 Hey I cleaned a throttle body and $300 scan tool and idle relearn later, I realized shit ain't built like it used to be lol!! The only way we learn is by making mistakes! Sometimes though, shit just happens! Do it again and master it, make it your bitch and it'll never break again!

brother i get what you say, i try my best to support american made vehicles but i am tired of all the engineering mistakes or their lack of common sense. do you know that in that same vehicle to change the headlight bulb the whole front end has come to come down you cannot get the headlight assembly out without taking down the whole bumper so yeah I'm fone with American cars unfortunately.
