I used this as my very first project and I had absolutely no problems following the instructions as they were given! I would definitely say beginners can do it!
I did this a few years back 🥺 and forgot everything just retired and trying to stay busy I’m going to have to watch this for at least a week to get this right Thank you for all you are showing us 🥰
I have been looking for a pattern on a round loom for an easy blanket for months. This is the first one I have seen and is exactly what I have been looking for. Thank you so much for posting this and for your, as usual, excellent instructions. I look forward to making this blanket very, very soon!
Just finished my first loom knit baby blanket following this tutorial, and it turned out great! Clear tutorial, easy to follow, and great product. Thank you a million times over.
Two of my friends just had babies so I decided to learn how to knit so I could make cute little things for them. You make it so easy to learn! Thank you for taking the time to develop step-by-step videos!
2.5 years ago I watched this video and made my son a blanket for when he was born! I'm due with my daughter in a couple weeks and I started on her blanket tonight. I watched tons of other videos but went back to this one since it is so simple and easy to follow. I'm using different yarn this time around and I already used one skein, and its only 19x7!! Off to the store tomorrow to buy more yarn to finish this beauty!
Thank you for a great how-to! Accidentally tightened part of the cast off, but as my wife pointed out, it's a minor detail, and such things happen with homemade things.
I've made this blanket several times. I use about 3 spools of the smaller Barnet Baby Blanket yarn. I just discovered they come in a bigger size that makes one blanket!! You can knit about 40 - 42 rows total (includes the 5 rows on either end).
Helpful hint for using this video if you are having problems: 1. Turn off the sound. Although the music is fun, it can come across a little chaotic. 2. Slow the video down so it is easier to follow along. For those of you unfamiliar with how to do that, click the gear in the top right corner and choose speed. 3. Watch in stages. Don't worry about how to end it if you haven't even started it. 4. Have fun. l loved this project and will make it again.
Your ewrap-purl stitch hack has become my stitch of choice when adding rows to hats, scarves and blankets. Most of my loom projects use your technique. Thank you for your hard work and clear videos.
I just made my sister a baby blanket following your video. It came out great!! I could follow your instructions easily. You were very clear. I had trouble trying to find a blanket tutorial I could follow until I stumbled across your video. Thank you so much! I'm planning to make more of these!
The other day I finished my first blanket. This is a great pattern. I used the Bernat Baby Blanket yarn. Multi colored....light pink, dark pink, and orange sherbet color. Oh it's called Peachy. Skein is 220 yards. I didn't have to use it all. Looks ok. I'm going to start on a white one soon. Thanks for sharing. Take care. :)
Mine is three strands of light blue, light pink and light green baby wools 😊 I got them from the Warehouse (department store in NZ). Brand is called Rosies I think
This is a great stitch pattern for making garments too. Currently working on rectangles for a vest. Thank you for your hard work. After working with this stitch for while, I am delighted with the luxurious effect. The work seems softer and cozier. There is body and warmth resulting from the extra purl stitch, very luxe.
My mistake was pausing it after you said knit 4 more rows without watching the next few seconds where you said to keep doing the easy garter stitch lol had to redo it but it looks amazing now !
Loved your tutorial. I was a complete newbie and just wanted to make a small blanket for the baby dolls in my daycare. It turned out so great that my niece now wants me to show her how to make one. I nicely sent her your video...THANKS!!!

Thank you so much for making such a great tutorial. It was easy to follow and I really like the pattern. I just finished a blanket for my niece's baby. Thanks. Take care!
Just watched this video from start to finish. So well demonstrated and the written instructions are great! Makes me feel confident that I can now tackle a baby blanket on my loom. Now I just need to get the right wool for the project! Thank you!

This was super helpful for me! My cousin just had a baby last month and my sister-in-law is due in July so I've been itching to try making baby blankets but wasn't sure how to do it on a loom. I had to jot down the instructions for myself so I wouldn't lose track lol but I do that a lot with everything. Thank you for the video!
Great tutorial! Easy to follow! Thank you sooo Much. Made a Beautiful baby blanket for my Grandson who will arrive Dec.15th. Planning to make more before his arrival. 😊
I started loom knitting last December and everything I make the cast off is always really tight and I couldn't figure out why. This is the first video (and I've watched so many) that's mentioned not to pull the string. Thank you so much! 😃
I have just finished my stitch pattern for this blanket and I LOVE IT!!! I was wondering, can you use the Quick Stitch alone? Do you need to add the other kind of stitching (P5, K, P5) to the pattern? I just LOVE the videos and the patterns that you take the time to make for us. Thank you for all your time and effort in making these videos and tutorials. It means the world to me. Vikki Carter
Made one blanket like this for my youngest on a round loom, now im curious if i can essentially use this same stitch but on an infinity loom? So that i can make it bigger in width.
What is the name and the color of the yarn that you used it's the perfect color for a baby blanket for a little boy. I love this you are a good teacher for us beginners
To make the blanket bigger, could I make four panels like this and then stitch them together? Or is there another way to make a bigger blanket? Thanks for the help, and great video!!
+ashley martin yes, you can make panels and stitch them together. I would perhaps make square shaped panels and stitch all four to make a bigger square. Hope that helps!
Awesome! I was hoping it would work out, and it looks like it might. I was worried about the border of the blanket giving me trouble when I do stitch my panels together, but if I make panel 2 without the border on one side, I think that would be the good side for stitching them together. Thanks for the advice! I'm excited about this project and am thankful for your response! I can't wait to see the finished product!
I used Bernat Baby Blanket and followed the instructions exactly. It all turned out great EXCEPT when I casted off, that end ended up being a bit shorter than the other end. I believe you used a basic bind off and reading on, I found out that this bind off can do this and what I should have probably done was the MODIFIED Basic bind off. It adds a couple more stitches throughout, and should solve the problem. I am just curious how you ended up not having the problem of a shorter end because your's looked great. I love the pattern and will keep using it, so thank you anyway, for showing it to all of us as it really is a nice, fast pattern.
@ArtyCraftyCa I use the Martha Stewart loom and I want to make at baby blanket at least 40x40. All the other videos I've seen the blankets are usually 20x20. How big does your blanket come out? Thank you :)
Thank you. i love this pattern. i do have a question tho, i am a beginner and somewhere along the way i must have connected an extra peg so i have a stitch of yarn in there where it should be open. because it is suppose to be flat. do i have to rip out all of it to that point to fix it or is there something else i can do. thank you
+Mary Hokanson thank you for watching. The yarn I used is a non-branded blanket yarn that I got from the dollar store. You may find different kinds of blanket yarn, for instance Bernat has them in different colours as well. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much. I'm going to start this today on an infinity loom to make it wider. The gauge is 7/16", but I have tried weight 6 yarn on it, and it's fine. That Quick Garter is pure genius!
Six inches into project, and I'm learning a bit. (I'm a beginner). The 7/16 gauge afghan loom works--but it isn't the best because the super bulky yarn is a bit hard to work with on the inner circle turns. The Quick Garter is fantastic; but the loom holds it up a bit. On that loom, stitches in the blanket aren't clearly defined, however, with a variegated baby blanket yarn, it is still very pretty. I so like your border and the KP row edgings I would prefer better definition. So, I'm saving up for a 5/8 afghan loom to do a better job when I make an adult afghan. Again, thank you for this great pattern. Whatever I do next, I want to use your edging. It's great!
Hello i made this for my neighbor and she loved it. thank you so much. Can this blanket be made into a blanket for an adult? I am still learning. thank you
In the case, The width of the blanket will depend on the loom that you’re using. Therefore, a round loom with 41 pegs will not produce a blanket wide enough for an adult. You can use the same pattern using an Afghan loom. I hope that helps!
I'm a beginner and this is the first baby blanket I made on around loom. It was really easy to follow not really like the pattern. The only problem I had was after I took the blanket off the loom I noticed the long edges kind of rolled over. Is there a way that can be fixed?
I am 60 yrs old, married to same man almost 43 years, we have 3 grown kids 4 ,soon to be 5 grand-kids! I have M.S. since '83 :-) I decided to try loom knitting about 4 years ago....I love it!!! round Darice looms Favorite!!! pegs do not fall out at all!!! but try as I might, I CANNOT PURL!!!
Ann, did you accomplish the purl stitch? Just curious, sometimes I lose my loop and it's so difficult for me to find out how to put it back right! So, don't feel bad just keep pluggin' away!
Hi Ann, I'd like to encourage you to keep working on the purl stitch. Try looking at loomahat.com for detailed instructions. I'm in my 70s, have MS and Parkinsons=like syndrome, so I understand. Looming is the only thing I can do. I'm sure you can do it with a good tutorial and practice. Please keep plugging away and best of luck to you.from Mary Hokanson
Great tutorial! I donate baby blankets to the Navy Relief Society who require blankets to be 30 in x 30 inches. On a 41 peg loom, how many pegs would that be? I measured the loom using all pegs and it came to 33 inches, bigger than I need it to be. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
Just finished playing around with my large green loom (40 pegs.) The final product ended up being about 21 inches wide after blocking for anyone who is curious.
@@FightingIrishR1 blocking is when you lay out your finished item on a surface where you can pin the side straight and evenly. You then either spray it with a spray bottle and let it dry, or my personal favorite is a fabric steamer. It heats up the acrylic and relaxes it so it holds its shape instead of being floppy and uneven.
@@FightingIrishR1 lots of good tutorials on UA-cam on how to block. A few years back, I was able to get camping flooring (similar to the foam ABC mats a lot of kids have in their playrooms) at Kmart so they fit together like puzzle pieces and I can pin the project. You need stainless steel pins so they don't rust.
kellsbells69666 I was wondering if you know standard length for headbands? I want to make some-but, unfortunately, most of what I’ve come across is knitting or crochet :/ I’m looking for baby to young adult sizes 🙂thank you!
Just started using my looms and loving it. Just a quick question, is 1 row there and back, ie knit and purl or is it 1 row there 1 row back the other way?
+Katherine Simmons glad you're loving your looms! I'm not sure I understand your question correctly, but I'll try to answer as best as I can. The first and last 5 rows consist of quick garter stitch, which is knit and purl successively - this is top and bottom border of the blanket. The body of the blanket starts with 1 row all knit, then going the opposite direction first and last 5 pegs are purl and knit in between. I hope this makes sense. If you haven't already, I suggest you watch the video completely before you start your project 😊 good luck and thanks for supporting my channel!

It's great!
Beautiful blanket and it was very easy to follow the instructions you gave. Can you tell me how much yarn was needed to create this blanket?
Great content 👍
Beautiful!
Hello
i made this for my neighbor and she loved it. thank you so much.
I followed your pattern and yet my blanket isn't as wide as yours. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Is this really easy or not because I never had made a blanket before and I was interested in making a blanket too
😮
I'm a beginner and this is the first baby blanket I made on around loom. It was really easy to follow not really like the pattern. The only problem I had was after I took the blanket off the loom I noticed the long edges kind of rolled over. Is there a way that can be fixed?
i'm gonna do this in lavender a natural bulky yarn
+Ann Newman so excited for you!!
I have discovered that I CANNOT purl stitch at all!! any suggestons
I am 60 yrs old, married to same man almost 43 years, we have 3 grown kids 4 ,soon to be 5 grand-kids! I have M.S. since '83 :-)
I decided to try loom knitting about 4 years ago....I love it!!! round Darice looms Favorite!!! pegs do not fall out at all!!! but try as I might, I CANNOT PURL!!!
How many balls of yarn?
I'm working on one right now I love your pattern I wish we could post pictures
Love this easy to follow
Great Video - Do you happen to have the instructions written out for the pattern. I can't remember and I have to keep referring to the video. Thanks
Thanks! Here it is: www.etsy.com/ca/listing/689565545/loom-knit-baby-blanket-pattern
About how much yarn is needed ...?
Is your measurements in inches or in centimetres thank you for showing as I'm making a baby blanket for an expected baby boy quite soon?
Inches. And congratulations!
Can this pattern be used with other types of super bulky 6 yarn, such as Softee Chunky or Hometown?
Yes 🙌
Great tutorial! I donate baby blankets to the Navy Relief Society who require blankets to be 30 in x 30 inches. On a 41 peg loom, how many pegs would that be? I measured the loom using all pegs and it came to 33 inches, bigger than I need it to be. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
Mine was 27x23 and I used a 41 peg loom
Gracias me ha ayudado mucho...
Just finished playing around with my large green loom (40 pegs.) The final product ended up being about 21 inches wide after blocking for anyone who is curious.
What is blocking? I am newer-ish to looming, but, that term is very new to me. I am currently making this blanket and I'm about 12 inches in
@@FightingIrishR1 blocking is when you lay out your finished item on a surface where you can pin the side straight and evenly.
@@kelleystrange Thank you so much for replying so quickly :)
kellsbells69666 I was wondering if you know standard length for headbands? I want to make some-but, unfortunately, most of what I’ve come across is knitting or crochet :/ I’m looking for baby to young adult sizes 🙂thank you!
Can I use a 28 peg loom for it I don’t have a bigger one
Can this be a blanket for a little kid as well
Just started using my looms and loving it.
How many rows was this blanket, did you count? I want to try a small graphgan and need to map it out. Thanks.
Hello , ArtyCrftyCa , was wonderful , Can you tell me if I can do a blanket with that point but in an infinite loom ? Please and thanks greetings.
Yes you may use this pattern using the infinity loom 🤗
To make a 23x27 baby blanket what would be the best yarn to buy to get the best buy and the most yarn?
