In Spider-Man: The Animated Series, Eddie Brock was taken to Ravencroft Institute after his first fight against Spidey, and it was Dormammu who gave Kasady the Carnage Symbiote, not Venom.

Spider sense triggers in response to Carnage. Peter said in 11 episode, that it doesn't work on Venom. However, in 1994 series it did work in Venom Returns episode, when Venom arrived.
I have to take John Semper’s side on it. Unlimited just doesn’t fit anywhere after the Animated Series. Both shows ended on cliffhangers, but if 94 hadn’t got cancelled, it probably wouldn’t lead up to Unlimited. On the bright side, both Spider-Mans did meet up in GodzillaMendoza’s unofficial Spider-Man 94 comic.
The flash backs and John Jameson completely close this theory of being a squeal as Venom escaped Alone and the Carnage Symbiote was a gift from Dormau follower the prequel idea is also ridiculous as If Peter Faced the Symbiote before why doesn’t he mention it the first he wore was different and his first fight with it was with the Rhino and then the Venom fight was also different in the 90s he fights Venom in several locations and eventually leads them to the rocket while Unlimited Spider Man just somehow defeats him on a rooftop there are too many problems for it to be connected in any sort of way
Personally i don't really care for if it's a sequel or not, i just enjoy the show for what it is, a hella cool looking show with an awesome new spidey suit, sick as fuck soundtrack and that despite the odds managed to deliver a pretty cool show, with a flawed foundation born out of corporate limitations but that's what led to such a different and unique setting for the show.
It's a semi sequal. It's like Dragon GT. Technically a sequel to Dragon Ball Z and slightly endorsed by the creator but gets retconned in later media. Also using the comic storyline is ify. Cause the Spiderverse movies also use Insomniac and Unlimited but don't acknowledge the comics meaning both are slightly different. Also, Unlimited and possible 94 both appear in the Spiderverse film. I think the best way to think of it is that it's an alternate timeline where it follows 94 but some versions of 94s timeline doesn't include Unlimited. Also sidenote X-Men 97' a canonical sequel to The X-Men animated series that connect to the Spider-Man 94 series has Eddie Brock alive, meaning Eddie Brock came back somehow. This further supported Unlimited.
I think it was mentioned, and I have absolutely no way to back it up anymore, that one of the developers said that it was a "sequel" in the way that, it happened after the Mary Jane rescue, plus an entire arc after that. So 2 giant stories after. That's why it'll appear jarring to a lot, because in two giant stories, many things can change.
It’s kinda semi sequel,Unlimited spidey have similar background but it’s different continuity, unlimited is just reflection of tas spidey, like other Spider-Men in season 5
i just want a season 2 of Spider-Man Unlimited as cut off on ep 13 and it only got under rated as too many other show pop up but now with the age of the dumb baby show that most people hated so much they gone to tiktok
I always figured that they probably just shared a similar past but certainly things were different like designs or voice actors. Or maybe this Spider-Man never met the X-Men because he wasn’t sick or Venom and Carnage weren’t sent away, etc.
If anybody didn’t know, the show was supposed to be a Spider-Man 2099 show but since Batman Beyond came around marvel didn’t want to seem copying even tho 2099 been around longer
Just because it used the theme music from the previous series doesn't make Unlimited canon. The intro to Batman: The Animated Series used similar theme music from the first Tim Burton film, but Batman TAS is set in the DC Animated Universe, not the Tim Burton Universe.
I take it as a spin-off where 94 happened to Unlimited's timeline, but not vece-versa. Same path up until Unlimited start, then a divergence. That's how I see Metal Gear Rising in the MGS timeline too. Everything until MGS4 is canon to Rising, but Rising is not canon to MGS4's future.
no it can't be, Spiderman Tas crossed over with X-men tas and while there were some colouration differences, the design element were identical to X-men Tas the same show where the high Evolutionary appears with a Wundagore Castle of his own with different design (more reminiscent of his 616 design) so clear different from the high Evolutionary we see in spiderman unlimited
I never considered Unlimited as a sequel to TAS because of the obvious differences like Peter’s face, voice suit, setting etc. I also didn’t want to believe Unlimited Spider-Man to be the same as 1994 Spider-Man because Morlun kills Unlimited Spider-Man in the comics, as shown at 7:53, and I didn’t want to think that Morlun killed 1994 Spidey.
5:28 "There's a whole flashback scene that depicts their origins and it's exactly the same way as 94" NO! If you remembered correctly, it was MORDO who gave Cletus the Symbiote not Venom. In the scene you're showing right now it literally shows Venom giving Cletus the symbiote. Also Venom and Carnage never got along in 94, they were forced to team up but they hated each other. Now in Unlimited they're suddenly BFF's. There's too many holes for Unlimited to be a sequel whether or not FOX intended it
Yeah i doubt venom and carnage would be buddy buddy and how did they get out of that dimension they were sent too, but yeah i honestly seen Spiderman unlimited set in a universe where similar events happened to 94's universe but its not a sequel or in the same continuity plus Xmen 97 pretty much confirmed that unlimited is not in the same universe with 94 spiderman and 90s xmen.
I hope they clear this up one day, maybe with a Spider-Man'98 show that takes place in the same universe as X-Men'97 and the original Spider-Man: The animated series.
The 90s Spider-Man animated series. The best one? Personally, I think “The Spectacular Spider-Man” is the best adaptation as of right now. That being said, I do think the 90 series is amazing. It’s just not my personal number one favorite. Still a great series though!
This might be the same case as with transformers prime and many transformers series that came out as a continuation, but it’s not known which is really canon one.
No Spider-Man Unlimited is not a sequel to 94 Animated Series. It's a universe with a similar history to 94 with minor differences and large ones. Such as how Peter obtained the Venom Symbiote. How Peter defeated Eddie Brock. How Cletus got the Carnage Symbiote from Eddie instead of Dormamu. Etc.
All I know is, spider-man 94 happened in spider-man unlimited's timeline, but not in spider-man 94's timeline kinda like how Halo is canon to Red Vs Blue but Red Vs Blue isn't canon to Halo.
In my headcanon their not the same. While I will agree on Unlimited Spidey of earth 751263 is somewhat similar to his earth 92131 counterpart (90s Spider-Man) I just think they lived similar lives and experiences but with their own unique changes
Devil's Advocate: In regards to the music callback, the DC films did something similar in the 2017 cut of Justice League. Affleck's Batman briefly appears to the Elfman '89 theme, which was reworked to fit the scene. It didn't necessarily mean Affleck was Keaton's Batman, though. Personally, I'd like to see a deep dive on "Is Batman Forever a sequel to Batman Returns?" after DC published the '89 continuation comics and The Flash movie.
I see this show as like the DBZ movies alternative universe with most of the same events of the show but since it takes place in a different universe they changed some stuff to allow different characters and plots.
I like to think that because of some multiverse shenanigans with Venom and Carnage going who knows where, Venom got factory reset a bit to his old self before he sacrificed himself(aka hating Spider-Man/Peter Parker) ans X-Men 84 shows Peter has found MJ(thank fuck). So I think this is a sequel, also one of the comments here said one of the developers said this was a sequel. Before anyoen says anything about the nano-tech, maybe he sacrificed his suit, and possibly his identity to make something to get Him, Eddie, and Jameson(J Jonah's Son) back home while also using it to make something to keep Counter Earth safe.
Um, that would only be Slott’s opinion. No different than what you said about Semper. They’re both statements from two men with no claim on the official word for the brands
The intro's giving me NB vibes obviously because you have 64 on your name anyway. edit: Spider-man Unlimited looks like a prequel to Spider-Man 1994 visually as Peter is skinnier in Unlimited.
The reason I think venom and carnage both talk in a singular(especially venom) is because they are more bonded to the symbiote, I’ve always thought since this show is after Mary Jane is saved venom and carnage get free and the symbiote is more there than Cletus and Eddie since they never took the alien off while being in the portal
Yes this pretty much the true case for the most part since even in the “official handbook of the marvel universe A to Z” volume pretty much states that the Marvel Comics: Spider-man the animated series takes place in earth-92131 and the Marvel Comics: Spider-man unlimited series takes place in the designated reality of earth-751263 and then there’s also the fact that there are way too many inconsistencies between both series for them to be connected which can literally be seen in the opening sequence of the spidey unlimited series in where Peter’s origin of getting bit by the spider is completely different in by how it occurred in the original TAS series, in which was us by seeing Peter on a field trip with other fellow classmates to see a demonstration of technology producing radioactivity by professor Farley still-well where inevitably during the experiment the infamous spider comes around it & gets doused in neogenic rays quickly biting Peter on his left hand specifically but in the Unlimited TAS series Peter’s spider-bite origin is that he was being showcased doing an experiment with radioactivity and accidentally ended up making an mistake in which the black spider ended up getting caught right in the impact of the chemical reaction explosion on his right hand instead.

GT is a sequel to Dragon Ball Z, the anime to be precise.
Z was never used in the manga.
@@Mediaguy8000 I'm aware lol
Unlimited's opening got me so hyped every time i was like those 3 guys from the yo yo yo vine
If anybody didn’t know, the show was supposed to be a Spider-Man 2099 show but since Batman Beyond came around marvel didn’t want to seem copying even tho 2099 been around longer
Given the success of X-Men '97, maybe Sony could do its own sequel to Spiderman '94
Spider-Man'98!!!
94 spider man is the literal mature spider man
no it can't be, Spiderman Tas crossed over with X-men tas and while there were some colouration differences, the design element were identical to X-men Tas the same show where the high Evolutionary appears with a Wundagore Castle of his own with different design (more reminiscent of his 616 design) so clear different from the high Evolutionary we see in spiderman unlimited
Maybe Spider-Man Unlimited took place in an alternate timeline
THANK YOU! This guy clearly hasn’t watched either show in full or he’s just an idiot.
What if you consider it a variant? At some point it branches off from the real 94 to a 94+unlimited. A branch point
Maryjane was brought back
I hope they clear this up one day, maybe with a Spider-Man'98 show that takes place in the same universe as X-Men'97 and the original Spider-Man: The animated series.
Perhaps it's in the same continuity but on a parallel timeline.
you’re asking the real questions
No Spider-Man Unlimited is not a sequel to 94 Animated Series. It's a universe with a similar history to 94 with minor differences and large ones. Such as how Peter obtained the Venom Symbiote. How Peter defeated Eddie Brock. How Cletus got the Carnage Symbiote from Eddie instead of Dormamu. Etc.
No, it's set in the year 2099. End of.
(1:03)
Did 94 Spidey closed his eyes?
Tbh i see it as just a sequel/spin off of the 94 series
All I know is, spider-man 94 happened in spider-man unlimited's timeline, but not in spider-man 94's timeline kinda like how Halo is canon to Red Vs Blue but Red Vs Blue isn't canon to Halo.
For what it's worth, their design for the original costume is pretty good
In my headcanon their not the same. While I will agree on Unlimited Spidey of earth 751263 is somewhat similar to his earth 92131 counterpart (90s Spider-Man) I just think they lived similar lives and experiences but with their own unique changes
And one of the title in other courntry (french in example the title is Spider Man the New Adventures
It's probably a Batman forever situation if anything
Devil's Advocate: In regards to the music callback, the DC films did something similar in the 2017 cut of Justice League. Affleck's Batman briefly appears to the Elfman '89 theme, which was reworked to fit the scene. It didn't necessarily mean Affleck was Keaton's Batman, though.
Personally, I'd like to see a deep dive on "Is Batman Forever a sequel to Batman Returns?" after DC published the '89 continuation comics and The Flash movie.
I liked Spider-man Unlimited. He is my favorite.
Me talking about this show in comments and people are finally making videos on da best spider man show ever
I see this show as like the DBZ movies alternative universe with most of the same events of the show but since it takes place in a different universe they changed some stuff to allow different characters and plots.
Spider-Man’s biggest villain cancelation 😂
I love spider man unlimited soo much😢
Spectacular is the best tho-
Yes it is.
Spiderman unlimited isn not a sequel. We saw 94 Peter in Xmen 97 with his own suit.
6:18
All I will say is
GYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAT
Um, that would only be Slott’s opinion. No different than what you said about Semper. They’re both statements from two men with no claim on the official word for the brands
Unlimited ❤️🔥
The intro's giving me NB vibes obviously because you have 64 on your name anyway.
edit: Spider-man Unlimited looks like a prequel to Spider-Man 1994 visually as Peter is skinnier in Unlimited.
Bad show but kickass intro
Spiderman unlimited has the best suit imo
Well we can see What dimmension is Spider-man unlimited and what dimmension is 94
No, it's not a sequel
Thank God.
ITS NOT A SEQUEL YOU-
Maybe
Homecidal Homies 😂
The reason I think venom and carnage both talk in a singular(especially venom) is because they are more bonded to the symbiote, I’ve always thought since this show is after Mary Jane is saved venom and carnage get free and the symbiote is more there than Cletus and Eddie since they never took the alien off while being in the portal
No especially when it’s own creator thinks it’s a joke and isn’t so L on your theory buddy as the majority of people think otherwise.
Imma jus say alternate future
Bro said 3 great live actions and called unlimited weitd .... Opinion invalid already
Non-canon sequel
Me hope not that show is a disgrace.
Well spiderman TAS is on earth_92131 while unlimited is earth_751263, so not really a sequel.
(I did a Google search, I'm not a huge comic nerd yet)
