@@jcpesa19 The S24 Ultra still struggles with motion and preserving details indoors. Updates won't fix the S25 Ultra. People need to stop forgiving Samsungs shortcomings.
This is the same story with samsung every single year since the S20U, launches with some issues in the camera processing, people waiting for a magical software update for months, things quite down and then the next samsung ultra phone is released and the pattern repeats itself. I have the Pixel 8 pro since launch, from the first day till today, it has taken some impressive pictures, although not perfect, it needs work on the noise at night and the portrait mode photos, but overall very pleasing photos since day 1.
yup agreed, remember when they say Samsung will fixed the oil painting issues while taking zoom photos on the s24?? yeah it hasn't been fixed till the s25 came out. bet it will never get fixed when One UI 7 releases.
I was very excitedly waiting for the S25 Ultra and ready to upgrade but I must say the S25 is just a big disappointment. They did not bother with the main camera at all which, to me, is a major letdown. I don't play games on my mobile so RAM/Processor ain't a big issue for me. AI is more of a gimmick than actually something I will use frequently. I just wish they put more focus on upgrading their main camera, battery, and charging speed which is below the competition. I have an option of the iPhone but I am not a big fan of its closed ecosystem and also it is more expensive. So, now I am in a fix on whether to go for the iPhone 16 Pro, skip an upgrade altogether, or wait and see if Xiaomi or Google will come up with someone exciting. Or even go for the S24 Ultra because it has the same specs but is considerably cheaper where I live.
Danny once again u da goat when it comes to smartphone camera comparison. I've been waiting for the past 2 weeks for your camera upload because u are the best.
I always give phones a couple of months for updates to give them a chance. I did that with the S24U, but it never really solved the issues after three months, so I now use my Pixel 8 Pro for photos. If the S25U isn't sorted in that time scale, I would probably give up expecting it to improve. Sadly, Samsung's algorithms using older hardware are not as good as those of Apple or Google. So, they need to increase their lens quality to return to the game. In the first year in five, I have not upgraded due to the disappointment of the S24U cameras.

Samsung is way behind on competition in camera. Even from other Androids. Vivo and oneplus can beat samsung easily in camera now, even pixel. How is this 200 mgpxl can't pick up those crop detailes. I know it is not a big deal. But how are smaller sensors can pick up crop details better than Samsung? Other thing, other phones can pick up better shadow detailes than samsung mostly.
