He once said: “The Fonz was everything I wasn’t, but everything I wanted to be." I beg to differ, a solid marriage, loyal friend, involved in umpteen charities and an all round good guy whose career has had incredible longevity.

I met him once and he was such a gracious guy. He put his hand out to shake mine and I did of course and I didn't do the Ayyyyyy thing that everyone probably does that encounters him but instead thanked him for all of the memories of the show and making my youth a wonderful thing with the show.

I met him several years ago at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. I had a picture taken with him, and he told me to check the picture to make sure I liked it. He looked at it and said to take another...and there were about a hundred people waiting in line. What a kind man, and a true class act.

I tell you what's incredible. Most of the Hollywood stars look much older than their age because the life really ages you as acting is very hard work, but they all still look great for their age! Ron Howard still has that all American wholesome face and Danny Most and Anson Williams also aged well. But Henry Winkler and the rest should be proud that they all did family shows instead of the filth that Hollywood put out and continues to do.

His family use to assume he was mentally retarded and when he would do movies or TV shows he needed someone to read the script to him and look at him now, he's incredibly literate when he speaks

@The Steel2011: True words my friend. I did stunt work right out of high school on several Hollywood movies right up until my friends & neighbors selected me to represent them in the Armed Forces of the United States..... in other words, I was drafted. Met quite a few major stars who were literally assholes, while others didn't let stardom go to their head. Long before M*A*S*H I worked with Alan Alda on the set of The Moonshine War. Truly one of the nicest person you'd ever want to meet, as was his wife. It's obvious Mr.Winkler is one of the nice guys.

It was a pic of Henry with a statement. I wish I remembered all of it...but he told his story of suffering from dyslexia as a kid. He wrapped it up with saying that we are smart, and amazing kids and not to let our learning disabilities get us down.

Driving a cab on a warm Saturday afternoon in Madison, Wi. Got a call from a hotel going to Graduation. Name was Winkler. I didn't give it a thought, just another ride. You guessed it, out comes Henry Winkler. He was just like you would imagine. I believe it was his son graduating. I have had many rides, and this one was one of the most enjoyable. I never made a big deal about famous people, I always thought that was kind of rude. After a mile or so, you felt like you knew him for a long time. He said to me that today he was just another proud father and that pride showed in his face. And no. he did not have on the Jacket.

That instant smile, the moment he saw Ron (…. then Anson and Donny), was beautiful. ❤❤

If only Henry Winkler could dye his hair black and wear his signature leather jacket and go “Ayyyy” one more time. 👍👍

Henry Winkler is my idol ever since Happy Days as the Fonz. I would love to see him as the Fonz again as an old man. Maybe have a son who is like him the way the Fonz was.

I love all those guys. I grew up watching that show 60 times a week. The Fonz basically raised me. Donny is awesome too. Huge fan. He was hilarious on that show. I bet even in the later years, he's still got it. Edit - I see UA-cam has me shadowbanned as every comment on this page has hundreds of likes, except mine.

I love him 'waving' at his co-stars on the video as though they could see him. That was so cute! But then I love everything about Henry!

To me when people who were on a show together are that close in real life it makes the show even more meaningful.

The Fonz was the ultimate cool bad boy, his idol was James Dean (had a poster of him in his rental above the garage), but he was also humble...Since then, he still remains humble professional and happy. Much success happiness to Mr and Mrs Henry Winkler and their son Max.
