You know Sara? I deliver to the University of South Carolina. I don't mess with night times. I deliver to downtown Columbia from 11:00 to about probably 1:30 to 1:45 cuz that's when the trash starts coming in. The first trash order I get at that time I just log off. Then I turn Uber Eats on because they can't possibly care about acceptance rate. They certainly don't care about😅 proximity. They'll send me 10 miles to the restaurant. Then again, in all fairness you can find orders I found two good orders today doing Uber Eats. Plus I got the catering thing going on in the morning. By the time the end of the day comes around and I've made a hundred or more dollars and probably about 6 hours. You just have to be savvy about this that's the bottom line. The fact of the matter is with doordash is that AR does matter here. Dashmart, is an acceptance rate killer that's 2 mi away from Chick-fil-A. I've gotten to where I won't even go to that side of town because their orders are so awful that's really a shame because they own it. Do I like doing doordash yeah. Do I think there's issues certainly. Very few jobs don't have issues though. Everything's about choice and if you remember the matrix Neo figured it out that it's all about choice. I had the choice to hit dash now and I choose to so I'm not going to fuss. I will say that I do deliver to five points which is predominantly college, but they're at home to downtown. I rarely get a trip more than 2 mi. My strategy a lot of times is turn and burn. That's an old restaurant saying. I get a ton of 6 for 1-2 mile trips.
Exclusive just states the store uses ubereats mainly for their delivery and not any dollar amount like diamond zone in DD.
Breakfast usually starts at 6am, starting at 5am set you up for the busy time. Breakfast ends 9am. Its market dependent though.
If you have safeway in your area, they start releasing deliveries at 7am. Walmart at 3am, or 8am.

Exclusive means u are the only one that gets it. Trip radar is now being used when there's too many drivers in your area.
Have you seen the new Uber Standard and Advanced driver classes announcement on the Uber blog.
Drivers will now be penalized based upon acceptance rate cancelation rate AND their driver telematics score (hard braking and acceleration event score)
5% lower pay and only trip orders via trip radar if you don't meet their specs
it says EXCLUSIVE on all Uber orders that come to you. The trip radar are not exclusive because they get sent to everybody at the same time, but regular orders are exclusive to one driver at a time. It's exclusive to you. It's not an exclusive order. Most UE orders are total crap, but 1 out of 5 will be ok or good.

On Uber Eats "Exclusive" has nothing to do with the quality of the order (Low miles high pay). It's that it was ordered directly on the Uber Eats app and that you are the only one looking at it. Meaning it's not a trip radar. Also I've always heard That DoorDash sound go off on your phone and I figured that you chose that. My phone has been making the "new sound" you spoke of since I started years ago. On both Android and Apple. Interesting in different areas they would use different sounds wonder why? Sending love 💜💛

I am new to DoorDash . My question is how do you find out how much the customer tip $$ is? I also do Uber to but that lets you know how much your tip is.
Breakfast time is busy. And that's where it ends. A lot of small orders with no tips. College students have no money. If doing late night shifts, you are better off sticking around hospitals with doctors and nurses ordering.
In a city, lunch is better. I live and work in a suburban area, so dinner is where it's at. And late night too. I have a full time job 8-4. So I work 5-11pm Thu-Sun, and on Fri and Sat, I can go late (up to 2 or 3) but it's mostly drunks and druggies ordering fast food and tips are average $3-5. And don't see too many trips under 2 miles. It's mostly 5+ miles, with many 10+. My new car gets 40 mpg, so gas isn't an issue, but time is. I don't like taking a $15/10 mile order if it'll take 45 minutes. But if it's quick, 20-25 min total, I take those all day.
the app is made to break drivers and hire new ones
Costs them more in having to refund mistakes

I deliver a lot to a 🪖 military base, but no colleges or universities. At least the soldiers come to my car 🚗 at night. I'm not trotting around on a dark base in a massive parking lot to deliver orders to no one in the night. To risky.

I got 2 strikes in 2 days with door dash because there GPS took me to the wrong place so late drop off. Yes I Appealed both. Plus I even had no internet connection it even told me that so could not click on completed.

I think DD should have to tell you upfront if an order will be extra large. I accepted a $5 order thinking it was one pizza. No it was for 5 large pizzas and 2 large bottles of soda to a hospital! More like a catering job and not getting paid! I should have cancelled it but delivered in my catering bag that wasn’t approved of by DD.
I had the same thing except it ended up 27 pizzas with a $2.52 total pay. No tip!!! Yes, I was expecting a large tip. No more no tip orders!!!

Hi I’m curious how the Uber app works when it comes to declining orders, does it affect you negatively when you decline a lot of orders or lower your percentage like DoorDash does ?
I declined 50 orders in a row in Chicago on Uber eats when I was evaluating the metrics of orders per.hour and mileage/pay ratio

Acceptance rate isn't a big deal on uber like it is on doordash. It's tracked but it isn't pushed in the way door dash does.

Are you a customer or are you in a really good area? I see things like that but except less than seven all the time. On DoorDash. I’m also starting out on the border of two zones so even within my own, so I can be pretty far and it doesn’t pay any better so I pretty much stick to a few mile radius with a few exceptions that we’re actually worth going 6, 11, 7 and 10 and the last one was pushing it at just under 18 but it was between lunch and dinner very very early dinner with time to get back and it was almost 20 bucks. Not to mention a less than 1 mile one had gone from 725 to 21 and change from that restaurant. I’ve had better orders as far as starting and ending numbers sinse, but I don’t understand their algorithm 🤷♀️ so I figured there was a potential to even go up. But the best ones of those have happened with under 3 miles. Weird. 🤦🏻♀️
Be good to mention that the 10 mile for $18 (I think it was like 1775) And the .9 mile that went to 21 and change were both from the same restaurant.
7/8 for 30 miles I have seen a few and pictures to prove it. Some package for 76 and and other for 80 miles recently as well. The one for 80 was paying 30 bucks. People are nuts indeed.
The exclusive on Uber Eats means that order is only for you, if it’s blank, that’s a trip radar. It doesn’t mean it’s a good order. 😂

I have learned what the word exclusive finally means lol I just wanted to tell you that when we see the word exclusive, which is all the time obviously, all that means is whoever placed the order they placed it on the Uber eats app not a third-party app that’s all that it means the customer placed the order on the actual Uber eats app not a third-party app, I just wanted to tell you that, you’re welcome. It’s summer slow down is what I was told kids are out of school parents are cooking.

It's in Chicago. The doordash alerts with how many fast acceleration and hard breaking event were counted during your dash time.

You know damn well the info is being used internally.for doordashes own insurance cost negotiating. Otherwise why do it if these is no money to be made bydoordash.
Expect sometime in the near future if you are getting these driving GPS telematic.alerts about your driving hard braking fast accelerations that it will be used as a reason to deactivate drivers. You are dangerous driver driving up.doordahes insurance costs.

I take painters tape and close the pizza box with that incase it flops open, I've had that happen with Lil Ceasers boxes, Try breakfast on Sunday....it might work out, I have a Krispy Kreme donuts that always hits up for churches, and other breakfast resturants too, but not sure of your market
Pretty sure The reason breakfast shifts are gone so fast is there are less slots for them … some days less than others. I realized in my market I have to be on AT MIDNIGHT to have any chance for any morning shift now (I mostly do Friday mornings only because they tend to be fairly busy).
I run into the same prob with updating insurance with uber. I take a picture with my phone and upload to my computer. Then I upload to my account on the computer. Beats going to the uber hub.

Well I guess that makes sense because I guess the app doesn't do that by default I had to download the doordash Sound and then set the sound as my notification for just that one app that way when I Got a notification from doordash it is the doordash sound

Mine stopped and one day I had earbud in and then I heard it for some reason it's just really low. Uber is super loud at same volume.

I don't accept a 2nd order until the first order is dropped off. I can't make customers wait like that.
