- The answer is yes. You may need to wait until you are off parole, but you can apply and have your finger points checked. That's all it is having your fingerprints taken and a background check run on you.
Visit this website to get a HAZMAT endorsement in Illinois.

I’m a convicted felon, violent offense to mind you, and I got my Hazmat and TWIC card too. You correct with the information right here. My felony was only 2 years old when I got it too.
Same here in GA..ex convict but it been 3yrs ago went for Hazmat and in just 3wks my back round came back as Qaulify to take my hazmat test.
Did you get denied at first?
What state did you get your felony out of. Or is it the same nation wide?
I’m in Texas and applied for denied did my wavier and got approved and I had disqualify offenses
thanks for sharing brother we have to encourage each other.
Hey great video well laid out and right to the point Thank you and I will keep following you My Company will cover The whole cost to get my CDL and I don't have to sign any contracts after I pass I will definitely follow your your channel Thanks and keep them coming btw I had a DUI 17 years ago and I haven't had a ticket since
A Hazmat endorsement will tell the one hiring you that you are no longer fooling around for the last 7 years.
you are 100% correct thats why most employers push there drivers to keep them once hired on.
It depends on the felony. The TSA website lists the disqualifying felonies. I think it’s like murder, espionage, drug trafficking, etc. But if you have a felony for burglary or grand theft or domestic violence, those are not disqualifying. The disqualifying felonies for hazmat are very serious felonies that the majority of the population will not have.
Thank you for answering this question, you are spot on, the amount of time you've been out and the type of felony are what matter most.
Armed-Robbery In 2006 Should I Be Good?
@@tonyjones6948 I’m not sure about that my friend. That crime could be on the disqualified list. You may have to pull up the TSA website and look at HAZMAT disqualified crimes list. If it’s on there, I think you can write a letter explaining that it was a long time ago and that you have changed your life and you now provide for your family and those days of the past we’re when you young and stupid and you learned your lesson. And those days are ancient history. I’ve seen guys here on UA-cam who have got waivers. You can search UA-cam how they did it and who they wrote their letter to. Just search HAZMAT felony waiver or letter, etc. I forget what I saw it listed under. Good luck.

I Appreciate that, its not easy to tell the truth but that's what we have to do in order to help the next generation you know.
What if a person has a possession of a firearm charge from 20 years ago?
This question is for anyone who has an answer to this question.
In the state of Texas it says you can't get the hazmat endorsement until after 5 years of release from prison. Is that waivable that you know of?
It’s usually 5 years of being released of the listed crimes
I was approved for my waiver I only been out 18 months
I used all my certificates from prison a few characters letters even my parole officer wrote one for me
@@SkylandBess how did you know your wavier was approved
I received 10 years probation for driving an associate car from a bar and got pulled over. I was on bond for 4 years. Been waiting on my answer for 36 days.. I don’t think they are going to give it to me, anyone know how to go about doing the waiver process without a lawyer?
Im going to look that up and get back to you that a great question. But i would suggest staying on them and making them tell you why if they denied you.
I just called them and they said it’s still be processed maybe my wife said it sure is taking a long time for a no.. but I guess no news is good news
I received my preliminary ineligibility answer today so I guess I have to go through the wavier process. I wasn’t even surprised. I have to keep pushing. I guess I will be back to give a wavier update
@@Rayanderson2529I hope you get it bro.
Yo bro i got a notification saying I need to provide additional information for my hazmat that they sending me a letter would you happen to know bout it ?
"It might be something as simple as a question you may have already answered. Find out what they want, and continue the process. You are doing great; I'm proud of you, bro. Reach back out after you get more info, and we can figure it out together."
Hey thanks bro much love
