Coming from yugioh and getting into MTG I always looks back and find it hilarious how all these draw cards are banned. Then I see shit like this and I totally get it.
i mean. its a difference in design..... Magic balances it with a resources system. Yugioh dosnt have a resources/mana system, the closest we have is the 1 normal summon(and its not agood comparison) Every card you draw is an imidiat, and direct, asset. card advantage, while important in any card game, is a far more dangerous tool in YGO do to that, as i can be sure, that if i build my deck right, almost any card i draw will be imidiatly usefull, instead of being a high mana cost card being drawn at the end of a turn when i tabed all my lands already for example in MTG. Neither system, resources or no resource, is fundamentaly better, they just need to be balanced very differently
@@weberman173 there actually is kind of a resource system in the game; counters. A sort of token that is created by card effect, and then put on applicable cards to be used for specific card effects. Fact: Drawing Cards is really overpowered in Yugioh.
In practically every card game.
@@monkfishy6348 Not really. Take Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering. You 're bottlenecked on how much you can play in a turn by resources you possess.

If a zero mana draw two existed in MTG it would be restricted in vintage and banned everywhere else lmao
@@weberman173 there actually is kind of a resource system in the game; counters. A sort of token that is created by card effect, and then put on applicable cards to be used for specific card effects. And another thing is the own cards in your hand. Some card effects require cards in hand or in the graveyard to be discarded or removed from play for the effect to function.
You know, it wasn't until now I fully understood why decks like this and ones that use pot of greed are banned...now...I REALLY really get it.
Pot of greed was banned because it's basically an auto include. There's no reason not to include it because it's always a benefit. Especially since there was no deck limit when it was banned. It's literally a no cost extra card for your turn. There's a reason it's used so much in the anime that it's a meme.
