Don’t think the interviewer got how creative LR was in creating his own instrumental sounds. He didn’t reply to LR but asked to see his Elvis Tee shirt after he finished reeling the guy how he created unique sounds. If the interviewer did t get it, any wonder it’s been taking the rest of the world so long..

Absolutely! Especially here in The States where they brainwash us with a bunch of fake prefabricated Sound Artists! Link is one of the REAL ones much like myself.

Link was the Great Grandaddy, and Iggy will tell you so. RIP. I played punk in my teens - early 80s hardcore. Now, almost sixty, I dig the Country/Rockabilly/Punk trifecta, that is this man's legacy. Go brightly, brother. Kicks, joy, darkness.

He seems really happy at this point in the 80s- which makes me happy. He’s a valued member of the rock ‘n’ roll pioneers crew, and he deserved happiness just based on his contribution to music and culture.

I really like how down to Earth Link is.
Link's t-shirt is from Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel which is a blues bar in Providence Rhode Island. I went there a lot in the late 80's to see bands like "Roomful of Blues" and "Max Creek". "SRV & BB King played there. I wish I had the chance to see Link play. He really is genuine.

The man that invented hard Rock tone.Still remember the first time I heard him live, I thought, - what year is this?
Fine looking young woman at his side; maybe didn't make him the millionaire he should have been, but not bad for a half blind, one lunged, "half breed" , Native American( not unlike Elvis, NFN); attitude, good and bad, in spades.

I was a Colgate freshman Class of ’68 and lived in the third floor corner room on the left front side of the photo. Knowing that I shared physical space with Professor Nathaniel Schmidt who was tried and fired for heresy in 1896 explains a lot. I, too, was summarily dismissed after only one year at Colgate…something about grades, I believe. It was that same year that I discovered the throbbing tones of Link Wray and The Wraymen while swimming in two inches of beer on the basement floor of Kappa Delta Rho. Now at 74 I understand the affect such close proximity to heresy had on an impressionable young man. Thank God I didn’t drown in the basement of KDR and went on to retire from an investment banking career at age 50.
