I’m Vietnamese and absolutely love pho. For a bit of clarification pho is a classic Vietnamese dish and is known for it’s hot broth that is extremely hot and is poured on to raw meat that instantly cooks because of the broth. We also roast our spices to add extra aromatics and more flavour, I’m not sure about others but I found that my family uses slightly wider rice noodles and the additional pork meatballs. 😀
As a people who live in Ha Noi (capital of Vietnam and the best place to find Pho) beef is more soft for a rare cook by broth like that, pork will usualy go hard and less fit with the dish than beef. Không đánh giá nhưng thường thịt lợn ko hợp và dễ bị bã khi ăn tái như vậy :) .
In Canada, there are plenty of pho restaurants around there, I am not sure how authentic they are, but they do taste exellent to me. Since I don't always see proper chinese noodle restruants, pho is what I choose as an alternative. As a chinese student, pho has been my life saver for years! I have not seen anyone doing that but throwing in a whole chicken when making the broth brings it to the next level. Adding rock sugar and radish is kinda weird. The sweetness of the broth should come from the bones. First time I've heard of Tsaoko. Does it make Pho taste better?
@@kha9867 some people and restaurants in Vietnam use radish, onions (and other veggies), sometimes rock sugar or sugar cane to make the broth. Those helps to make the broth sweet but not too fat. Sorry kids is creepy AF. Why not say it in a real apologetic tone, not like a creeper with red lighting? Making himself look like a degenerate. Yes he should totally switch to hellloooo aunties.
I don't think he should apologize to children at all. His naughty comments are tame, plus, has he ever heard little kids playing during recess, the things they say (they mimic adults), especially little boys? 😅
So excited for this video!! Im a Vietnamese here. My family usually cooks Pho without fish sauce. It is mainly because cooking broth with fish sauce for a long period of time usually cause a slight sour aftertaste + darken the broth. We usually leave the fish sauce on the side for whoever would like to add it into their bowl, not adding it in while the Pho is cooking. If you use enough bones, salt, and other ingredients, it shouldn’t taste bland. If you prefer to use fish sauce in Pho while cooking, do not add too much as it will darken the broth. It is usually best to add it in towards the end of the cooking process. This is same with MSG, adding it towards the end of the cooking process helps prevent the sour aftertaste.
I can only imagine uncle Nick watching this video feeling like me when I was getting my driver's license. Like the part where you sit at a table and they tell you all the things that went right and wrong before finally telling you if you passed.
You can add chilli sauce to the pho broth to add the spiciness from it (in the serving bowl ofcourse, dont put it in the pot). The Srilanka chilli is ok. I'm a vietnamese and i do it all the time. Also if your broth don't look clean? You can throw that broth out of the window. The reason why nick broth look like sewer water is he cooked his beef in it with the pork bone in the broth, if you let the beef cook in the broth for hours, it will starting to disintegrate itself leaving the broth look like that, that why mostly we only use the bone, also big bone = strong flavor, just break them in half to fit your pot and let it simer on low heat for hours. Also you don't really need to take all the satchet of spice out, but you can left some star anise in the broth, it will enhance the pho flavours so much more.
I recently started watching Uncle Roger and now I can't stop. He is so interesting to watch and I like his content. Edit - 291 LIKES!! That's the most I have gotten. Thanks for so many likes.

"Less Obama, more Wesley Snipes." OMG, I'm dyin over here! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Sorry children"
"Hello aunties"
That got me laughing😂
Nick never added the MSG uncle Roger. How did you approve it?
He wanted Nick to not annoy him
Also the fish sauce
As a Vietnamese daughter who has eaten countless bowls of pho, I approve of the well-deserved "Uncle Nick" title. Uncle Nick, how about making banh xeo next? 🤗
Also vietnamese here, unfortunately, with his action cooking noodle in the broth, he already failed this title im my opinion
I'm from Vietnam too
Hé lổ
Thumb up for banh xeo!!
Also Vietnamese
You need vpn to protect yourself from Nick finding your phone number.
This is the best sponsor for uncle Roger
"Hello, Aunties" is so much funnier than "sorry kids." Please, more "Hello, Aunties."
Sorry kids is creepy AF. Why not say it in a real apologetic tone, not like a creeper with red lighting? Making himself look like a degenerate. Yes he should totally switch to hellloooo aunties.
he should get that as a merch, like a tote bag
I don't think he should apologize to children at all. His naughty comments are tame, plus, has he ever heard little kids playing during recess, the things they say (they mimic adults), especially little boys? 😅
Uncle Roger rap 8:54
2:32 are we not gonna talk about what he said 😭
he wild
"Stop sexually harassing vegetables" was epic😂😂
8:42 UNCLE ROGER BECOMES SCIENCE TEACHER
5:35 is the best joke yet!
I’m still thrown by the “less Obama, more Wesley Snipes” 😩😩😩😩😩😂
"Are you making pho Or Chlamydia"
this had me crying for 10 minutes
8:01 what a plot twist lmao
"Are you making pho or clamydia" should win the Webby award in both food & cooking and comedy.
😂thank you Uncle Roger ! I don’t think I would crack an egg 🥚 in front of you but love to watch your show.
Nick finally got uncle title. All his efforts have paid off,Congrates Nick
No congratulations nick its uncle nick fuyioo
"That sorry children and Hello Aunties " tho 🔥
I recently started watching Uncle Roger and now I can't stop. He is so interesting to watch and I like his content.
