Because my complexion and colouring is very similar to yours, it's the same for as well. Pastels and certain colours like pale peach, yellow and acid green wash me out making me look ill while rich saturated colours like hot pink or deep red look best. Merci pour votre conseil, ma chère 🙏🏻💕
Since I've been following you, my closet started looking like yours. A LOT of things were donated or binned, and replaced with much less, but the versatility and style that can be achieved! I have never been happier with my closet!
Gorgeous shade of red (3:50), Marie-Anne and it really suits you. As an inverted triangle, I'm happiest wearing prints from the waist downwards and plain tops which take the focus off my bust (which grew quite a bit more than I would have liked, over the menopause!).
Bonjour, Marie-Anne. Loved this topic. My all-time favourite prints are stripes, polka-dots and animal (leopard/snake) prints, and your snake print shoes are a wow! 😍❤. Love your blouse, lovely outfit. Merci for all your helpful advice 🙏🏻
Great advice! Appreciate the 5 main colors and 2 accent colors of French chic style. I love all of them ❤️. I'm realizing I can love a print, but I don't need to wear it, especially if the color and pattern don't suit me. Scarves will become a great way for me to wear print without it overwhelming my outfits!
Love florals as well but I've always found them to be more difficult to wear that's why I never bought one. All floral dresses I've got have been given to me as gifts and they were all well chosen, mostly in two or three colours, so cute for summer. Following your advice now I can wear them with more confidence 🌸🌸🌸
I love creating outfits with one or two solid colors and a patterned silk scarf with those colors in it. I style by choosing the pattern, if any, first, the same way I decorate my home. It’s so much easier to find solids that work with patterns, as in tops or skirts, or as in an area rug.
I'm from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I'm often farming and fishing but, I travel to New York to see my family and I have a trip planned to Rome. Thanks to Marie, already my wardrobe is looking more like a woman, and less like an oyster shucker! 😊 But if you need some oysters shucked, let me know.
I am a summer-winter-mixed type.....and it fits 100 percent!!! Before they found the ,,mixed- type" I was really sad and confused, because I wasn t a clear summer, nor a winter......
@@MarieAnneLecoeur Preferring classic clothes , I mix patterns using menswear as a guide , such as a muted stripe or mini check w/ tweed , etc. I love a pattern silk scarf & pair it w/ a print shirt / blouse in the same colors ( paisley w/ stripe / polka dot / check , etc. ) One piece bold , the other less so .
Sorry about the time difference Jacqui - it is just that this time works so well for me with my business, students and clients. I always intend to try a different time for my ladies south of the equator 😘
@@MarieAnneLecoeuryes I’m in Australia 🇦🇺 too. If you did for example 11am your time, it would be 8pm on the east coast of Oz. Of course your American subscribers would be asleep then. I would think so. But speaking only for myself, I’d wear this particular blouse with black in the winter, and with beige in autumn and spring. I don’t think I’d wear it at all in the summer.
When you buy clothes always wear or take a piece of clothing whose colour you know suits you best. If the item you are considering doesn’t compliment your complexion in the same way, don’t buy it.
Sadly that doesn't work Marion unless the fabric is the same as the swatch you take -0 the French Chic Test is the only one that works in all circumstances 😘

Hi Marie-Anne, Can you wear floral print tops with stripe blazers or pants? Thank you and love your shows. ❤
I hope Marie Anne answers this as I would like her opinion too. If I mix prints, my rule is to keep the same colors to tie the two together.
I may do a video on mixing prints Susan x

Marie, I need to live with you for a week!
what would you wear over the top when the weather is cooler?
Maybe a jacket 😃
I’m a plus size woman, apple sewing my own clothes. When it comes to prints, should I use small or large prints
Small prints with dark colors.
Small prints
Go for a print in proportion to your size Katleia - avoid too small prints x
Wouldn't it be possible to wear your animal print blouse with a beige coat instead of a black one?
I would think so. But speaking only for myself, I’d wear this particular blouse with black in the winter, and with beige in autumn and spring. I don’t think I’d wear it at all in the summer.
Yes it would Nellie
