You know its funny but my favourite animated shots in this is Yang's breaking down and Ruby fighting so hard not to cry when Yang's hugs her, both feel so real and believable.
You arent the only one...the animation was just done so well to be able to make us feel that way😢
Despite all the shipping wars going on, I love the family relationships in this show much more. From siblings to parents and kids and even pseudo ones with Qrow and Ruby and Winter with Penny. It just makes the show much better in my opinion.

I too always loved many of the positive family dynamics depicted (earlier) in this show.
Yang and Ruby. One of the character traits that endeared me to Yang's character in early volumes, was FAMILY FIRST!
Made her best girl to me.
Yang and Tai
Weiss and Winter
Blake and her Parents
Jaune and his family
Maria and her father
Pietro and Penny
Of course Qrow and Ruby/Yang.
Then there were the positive role models and mentors in addition to family like Professor Port, Oobleck and Glynda. Maria.
As of the past few volumes though, the on screen show of positive family dynamics have been greatly reduced.
Also, not since V6 as there been ANY positive depictions of adult characters in this show.
EVERY adult character in the last two volumes or so has been depicted as either evil, an idiot or just plain useless or obstacles.
And No more positive role models. The kiddies know all!
And highlighting positive family dynamics as given way to prioritizing shipping and virtue signalling.
A sad turn for the show imho.
i wouldn't say it's shipping wars , it's just akways been bumblebee haters , on every video or image about bumblebee there is always ome hater , wich i imagine isn't hralthy for the regular people that like to enjoy bumblebee , always getting hate comments isn't something okay , isn't somethink that can make one feel ok , not even gonna talk abt the toxic side of rwby fans

The most interesting part to me is how Ruby gets angry after thinking about what happened to Summer and probably comparing it to the situation she's in right now. She's angry at herself for not being better than her mom, and ponders if she's about to fail just like Summer. It takes Yang reminding her that no matter what happened to her mom, she still stood for what was right and they should do the same to snap her back.
What brought quite a chuckle to me was when Yang told Ruby she did the right thing and got the message out to the world. Ruby lamented as to why despite all effort and doing that, no one came in response to her pleas to help Atlas/Mantle.
In the back of my mind I am like "Probably because you told the entire world that Ironwood, head of the most powerful military force on the planet was bad and not to be trusted.
Of course NO kingdom would come to help. They are busy fortifying their own defenses in response should Atlas decide to attack and start another world war!
Thankfully the writers got that right. (Though I doubt they realized it.)
@@DocMicrowave Did you forget every other part of the broadcast? The first thing Ruby says is that Atlas is under attack by Salem, who is a common enemy of mankind. How and why would Atlas start a war under these circumstances, and why would anyone assume that in the first place, is anyone's guess.
@@olserknam Nope, didn't forget what Ruby started the message saying. However all that gets nullifed when she starts trashing Ironwood.
Think about it. If this situation is played straight,
Ruby, whom no one really knows, telling the world that there is this evil being named Salem threatening Atlas and the world.
I would think the rest of the world would have the same response as Ruby did when Qrow first dropped the name on her during the Qrow v Tyrian fight in V4x7.
Tyrian: One doesn't upset the Queen.
Ruby: Queen?
Qrow: Salem!
Ruby: Who?
No one outside a very tight circle knows who Salem is. And even fewer, her origins and goals.
But, Everyone knows who Ironwood is! And things are already tense, the other Kingdoms are already on a heightened alert due to the Ironwood/Atlas embargo and closing of borders. This has already been stated by the likes of Leo and even Jacques if you recall.
So it is not a stretch to believe (if played straight) that other Kingdoms would go on high defensive alert based on current tensions and knowing who Ironwood is. Not to mention taking into account past history in wars.
So I will actually applaud the writers for not having Ruby's plan (originally taken from Ironwood) work out as expected.
If your gonna ask 'then what should Ruby have said in her message?'
She should have kept it simple. Call for help. Leave Ironwood out of it. Your bypassing him anayway.
I doubt Atlas would attack other nations coming to its aid while under attack.
But we had to have the SJW style virtue signalling to make the girls look more righteous, and emphasize that Ironwood is a bad man.

Not to mention that at least several of the people in power (the ones who can make decisions regarding a kingdom's defense) do know about her. There is a clear call for help in the broadcast, and nothing indicating Atlas being in any position to potentially wage a war. If anything, if I heard the broadcast I'd probably think Ironwood has somehow betrayed Atlas/humanity. Bringing up him being untrustworthy is not virtue signalling at all, it's avoiding giving people false hope.

If i may address your points:
First off, I use the term "if played straight" to describe a more logical, realistic and real world situation and response. I have to say that because often times the writers go off the rails with plot leading to completely nonsensical scenes and play outs.
In this rare case, I think the way things played out in this instance makes sense.
1 - You are absolutely correct. Ruby says Salem is controlling the Grimm who are attacking the kingdom. You are correct, That should have been all people need to know. Too bad Ruby didn't leave it at that.
At least it would have gotten the kingdoms more interested and focused on verifying what this little girl had to say.
2 - As for "at least several of the people in power (the ones who can make decisions regarding a kingdom's defense) do know about her." Can you be more specific? Who?? No one (in power) in Vaccuo knows who she is yet. The only person in top ranks in Haven who was 'in-the-know' was Leo. And he is dead. That leaves Ozpin who is currently out of play as far as politics and the council goes in Vale. And Ghira, who is a regional chief at most. Not clear if he has a whole lot of power in his entire kingdom. I don't even think it was indicated that he was on his kingdom's council. At best he commands a civilian militia.
3 - The call for help might have been 'clear' in the message, but Ruby has no verifiable credentials or status. She certainly was not an official or head of state that other kingdoms rulers could acknowledge.
As for a threat from Atlas, I think it has been fairly built up and indicated (whether that threat actually existed or not) over the course of the show. Of course Atlas was in no position to attack anyone at this time. But the other Kingdoms don't know that. And they have been doing their own saber rattling in response. With Cordovan saying all the other kingdoms are ready to Attack Atlas. Jacques indicating that many in other kingdoms blame Atlas for what happened to Vale. Leo highlighting the fact that Haven and Atlas officials are at odds over the embargo and closing of borders. That tensions are high. So I think there is more than enough evidence that Kingdoms where afraid they may have to defend themselves against Atlas.

My view is that even if you think that, one has to still acknowledge that the Atlas military is Still under his command. They did not depose him. So, yeah. Rogue or not, he still commands the military and that would be the main concern for other kingdoms. That certainly was a concern of Leo and Jacques.
The part about virue signalling I stuck in there. I thought it was a real VS move to make him appear more evil just to make the girls look more righteous. Ironwood was basically written into a box. imho
With this video being shown, I for one believe that this is the interactions that people were hoping between Yang and Ruby. Lots of viewers were saying that Yang was more into Blake and were probably right, but it's nice to know that Yang still has affection towards Ruby. Even though they don't always agree on each other, they're sisters after all. They aren't going to stop loving each other because of their different viewpoints on how to save mantle. Feel like it became more clear of a bond they have on part 2 of V8.

This is such a different show now. I think it’s brilliant how it’s evolved to more grown up, with real depth. 2:46 3:29 3:50 5:27 are my favourite examples of this

@@mbvproductions4746 I believe it would play out with Ruby telling Neo how Roman actually died to the Grimm and not her, maybe even saying how she was losing to Roman before he died. That could set Neo off on both Salem and Cinder for lying to her and using her like a puppet. I also think she is more deserving of a full pardon than Emerald though neither of them really should get one considering both of them have killed and assisted in killing so many people such as at Beacon.
About time these two had some moments together!

It's so sweet to see yang acting as the mother that ruby needed. All the scenes we have had these two together in is so heartwarming. Even though it must be hard for yang, at least she knows when to be there for ruby since she's the only family yang wants to protect throughout the show.

Hey everyone here's another compilation vid. I've always loved the sibling dynamics between these 2, and I think in V8 it showed us that they may not always be on the same page, which is a contrast to how they've been in the first few volumes. But at the end of the day, we know that they both treasure each other deeply :) This time i added in some "commentary" in the captions, so turn those on if you are interested and let me know if that's sth you would like to see more of!

In spite of all the hardships they go through, Ruby and Yang still love each other. They’ll always be a family.🥰🤗
I know yang is older but yet it’s always Ruby that is the stronger mature sibling. She knew why she wanted to be a huntress when Yang was asked she didn’t have a valid answer. I know yang raised Ruby n I give credit but throughout it all it’s Ruby that leads the team, makes the hard decisions n watches her loved ones get hurt or die in front of her. It’s tough😢
In Yang's defense this is her personality she has always been more emotional and acted on her feelings like Tai Yang said her semblance is a temper tantrum. But in these last seasons Yang has every right to speak up or get mad and she doesn't have a bad attitude anymore.
I don't blame Yang for speaking up she's tired of blindly following Ruby's lead all they gotten are more problems or nothing is solved. It wasn't just her who felt this way she just was the only one to speak up.

Then she gets forcibly amputated after watching her best friend get stabbed only for her best friend to leave her without an explanation
After talking to Raven she’s so tired after holding everything in that she cries alone in the vault only to come out of it with a smile like nothing ever happened
Even here she learns that her mom might’ve been tortured and turned into a monster only to stop herself from crying so she can comfort Ruby

She's not dead, just stuck in another world you quitter. Besides the others fell in so if you were right, the whole team RWBY would be dead. RT knows better than to kill off the main characters of the show.

"Сmoon, we have to do this for Yang" sounded so blank, you can almost taste the abscence of proper writing, even within the voice
More emotion in their voices than you do in a week
I'm high and procrastinating so here are some thoughts.
I think the people who thought Yang and Ruby having a few shared moments if any in volumes 6-7 just didn't get volume 5. That's fine since I'd agree volume 5, despite its great overall ideas, didn't have the best execution and kinda lingered on so yeah some of those great ideas could be missed in all of that.
Basically, Yang never actually dealt with the fact that Ruby straight up abandoned her in her hour of greatest need, when she was literally too depressed to get out of bed because her entire life were cut off from her along with her right arm. It's losing a part of her body which is INSANELY traumatic on the cognitive level, it's her best friend & lowkey crush just vanishing cuz boohoo I'm so guilty (that's my general estimation on how Yang saw Blake at the very end of vol3 after the vanishing), it's her friend Weiss disappearing from her life presumably (at that point) forever. Yes, she could get a new arm in such a world and go to a different academy, but that's the thing - Yang already had her dream life at Beacon academy, and that dream life is just... Gone overnight. Remember, she didn't even know the Fall Maiden stuff, Cinder's assault shocked her as much as everyone else.
I'm not saying Ruby is guilty for anything, because she was younger and traumatized too and needed to deal with her own shit. That, however, might be the root of Yang's problem, because in being afraid of blaming Ruby and hurting her, she never actually dealt with the pain of Ruby's leave at all. When they reunite and Ruby DOES feel guilty, Yang immediately hugs her and never brings it up again. Then, unexpectedly for Yang, Blake comes back - and shockingly enough, even though Yang has been certain for the past year or so that her crush didn't give a shit on her, it kinda seems like Blake is super into her? Now that's a gay panic moment.
So instead of finding the strength to tell Ruby that yes, despite her role as the big sister and the protector Yang needed Ruby at her side, Yang just avoided that. I really don't understand how this isn't more consensus, cuz what else are you gonna do? I think what serves as biggest proof is how in Vol7, Yang played the role of Ruby's rough lesbian sis with supporting her leadership and fighting some side fights with her but only discussed her doubts about Ironwood with Blake. When trust wasn't obvious anymore, Yang wasn't actually willing to give it to Ruby, and I wouldn't say it's because she THOUGHT Ruby "left her" - as I said, she's trying not to judge her. However, when you don't deal with emotions, they tend to grow into poison within you. If Yang had been able to look to Ruby in the eyes and talk her pain out, this would've actually been avoided through a healing process.
Then, in Vol8, Yang finally stood up - but only because she was finally forced to by reality. The way she saw it, Ruby's optimism was starting to actually turn her blind, and I think that made Yang realize she wasn't actually being a very good sister by just cheering Ruby on. So... Whatever happened, she had to do that.
When Jaune brings Ruby up while they're stranded in a blizzard and Yang goes "Yeah... Ruby" while actually thinking about Blake, that falls in line with all of that. Let me tell you as someone who has C-PTSD herself... You don't think about the actually hard stuff. Yang might've been ok with discussing Blake with Jaune, but as soon as he mentioned Ruby... Eh, forget it man.
And that, I believe, is how hard-earned Yang's heart-to-heart with Ruby about Summer is. True, they don't talk about the "abandonment", but something different happens when Yang decides to run after Ruby. I believe this is when she finally realizes what being a big sister means to her, and what's truly important to her. The situation kinda begs that they discuss relevant stuff and not Vol5 stuff, there are priorities and I think Yang finally understands that in full. Her honesty and vulnerability with Ruby in this scene is something I only remember seeing from her when talking to Weiss about how hurt she is from Blake's leave back in Vol5, and of course in THOSE frames from Vol8E10

I agreed with yang 100% in the first scene the whole team was put into a bad situation because ruby wanted them to lie to ironwood for no reason.
But they told him anyway and he was chill up until the Cinder calling card thing
And Yang has been keeping secrets from Ruby too so she also wasn't helping the situation
@@dtkabridged yang is the wrong mouth piece but ruby told him literally at the last minute . they both contributed to the issue but ruby set the standard . the writers didn't really handle the plot point well in truth

i really didn't like episode 13 there so much wrong with the Yang falling scene .Yang can catch adams sword but she gets sent flying when swiped with a literal beef skewer. Also ruby and wiess use your semblance to help yang. Why didn't yang just tackle neo or fire a shot at her . Why is yang the character show to have durable arua gets shattered in one hit and get knocked out. Also they already did a scene like this in volume 3 when she wanted to save blake and was way better and made alot more sense.
