As much as I love MLB The Show, I'm starting to wish that sports games start to take an approach of say paying $20-$30 each year for an updated version or release a game at full price every other year. $70 is just too much to spend on a game these days that is only seeing minor updates in the big scheme of things. MLB the Show is as close to perfect as a sports game can be, which is part of the challenge, but there's certainly additional updates that could make the game more immersive. It's also a shame to see them not maximizing the PS5 hardware - I'm happy people get to play this outside of Playstation, but think it's going to ultimately hold the game back in the future...
Really it’s not that 20¢ a day. People that work on the game have to make a living. If 20¢a day is too much for entertainment. You need a new career or better financial planning.
@@Kirktvfree I’m fully in support of those making a living from working on the game and to be frank, affording this game for me isn’t a challenge. However, why pay $70 when you can buy the prior year’s game for $10-$15 on eBay and get the same experience. For me, it’s more about the fact that as we continue to pay $70 for similar games each year, the incentive for these developers to make significant changes seems to decline. I miss the 2000s where games like Madden, etc. would see significant improvements each year. I love MLB the Show, but I want my $70 each year to produce an amazing gaming experience and better than the last.
Or just don’t buy it. I was a huge fan of the show but when they started making the same game around 17 or 18 I just stopped buying their product. Seemed like they wanted to switch over to making most of their changes for online play and really failed on the sim like approach. It was a bummer. I look at 22 “next gen” and I’m glad I still haven’t bought it.
And focus more on reality and not this create your own player and have him play 1000 games. People with jobs need a season mode. I don’t need to live vicariously through my own name.
I'm Japanese and I've been enjoying this game since 2019 and I feel it's the best baseball game in the world. And when the work is translated into Japanese, I will be able to enjoy this game even more. I wish from the bottom of my heart.
Sports games just never get the crows reactions right. ITs bugged me since the early 90s. For example the crowd doesnt react at all until the ball goes into the stands for a home run. Like i wish they would elevate the crowds reaction and noise when the ball is in the air knowing it a homerun etc. and the commentators are just dull all the time. graphics wise this is really nice
and we have 2022!!!! and its not getting better its such a bullshit industry that makes a fool out of people since decades...ps5!!! and the graphics still look like ps3 or ps4 you got to be fucking kidding me. shouldnt it be with the ps5 close to real at least the motions more realistic and smooth you want almost 850 euros for this thieve package. this is straight criminal fo real. its just ridiculous...and i dont even talk how the faces, jerseys and crowd still looks after 8 years of ps4 UNBELIEVABLE..but there is still enough rich stupid kids that dont care
God awful commentary. Another disappointing feature to a NON DD mode. Yes, commentary is in all game modes, but It’s more relevant to franchise. This was a 3 pitch STRIKEOUT for SDS. Pumped this up as new and dynamic but it’s actually more of the same canned, robotic and generic lines. There are barely any multiple sentence lines that flow smoother my while being relevant. This took 3 years??
Yes, yes, yes and yes. The learning is medium I guess. There’s a option explorer to adjust gameplay settings that’s pretty deep and goes through some common baseball situations but nothing that teaches the rules thoroughly. I think that would be really good, maybe not all the rules of baseball, but more strategy stuff like bunting, cutoff throws and sacrifice hits for people brand new to baseball. The beauty of the game is you can start to play with only knowing balls and strikes and learn from there.
MLB The Show in my opinion has been a great franchise for the most part. Graphically from PS3-PS5 I never noticed really an outrageous difference having played and owning the last 3 generations of consoles. I just feel MLB The Show has been very consistent year after year. Thanks for the video 👍
Yeah buts it’s how they make money. The good part of this though is the value of the game goes down so you can buy mlb the show 19 for like 2 bucks if you just wanted to play RTTS or something
This game is gorgeous. One thing i love about the Show series is the life thats in the games. Not just game play but, the between actions of the players, the crowds. It's fantastic.
Now they need to focus on making it more immersive, make road to the show more immersive, press conferences, real endorsement deals, hell maybe even add purchasing homes etc etc if possible, add rivalries etc , maybe add some on field mic work where they interview players while they are on field
@Fire Montana That would be really cool. It doesn't matter how much money you earn in a contract. You can't do anything with it. That's why i sign the first contract offered by my team. Just so i can stay with them. It might be different if they allowed you to spend it on things and a catalog to pick through, or something like that.
@@brianzambotti4510 the programming of the commentating engine is bad as well. No voice talent could save this from sounding bad. What I love about video games that involve timing, is how they program them to screw you. Your timing can be prefect with a power, normal, or contact swing, and it’ll still fuck you more times than not. Anything above Rookie level….NEVER SWING AT THE FIRST STRIKE, IT WILL BE A GUARANTEED OUT! Because that’s what it’s programmed to do. Basically, you have to know when to and when not to swing BEFORE the pitch, or possibly during the pitch, or else you’re screwed. Literally 100% non winnable situations. I thought I’d give it a chance.
I get your frustration but this is 100% wrong. I’ve gotten many hits on first pitch. And perfect timing/perfect contact in real life baseball doesn’t guarantee a homerun or even a base hit.
You should try it, it's a great game, but you're right in ways. One thing is you'll be rallying and it will have the most chances for double plays. They occur too much in those scenarios not to be scripted, but still after 15 years you'd still have fun. My biggest gripe with this game is baserunning.

I’m looking for answers about this game. The devs won’t answer my emails so maybe you people Can. So first off why can’t hitting in pure analog mode do the things that hitting with pci can? If the point is to have different options for hitting then they all should be equal. If someone using pci can hit a home run on an outside ball in the dirt than so should I using pure analog. Also why does the same pitch at the same speed come in faster or slower sometimes? How come on inside fastballs they want me to make contact with the ball behind home plate? I real baseball you are supposed to hit the inside pitch out in front. Why can only pci users check swing and I can’t with pure analog. If pure analog users are subject to an algorithm than so should pci players. It’s bs that they would make a game where your hitting style puts you at a disadvantage.
