Triple requires RNG where you have to hit a double AND THEN the AI has to fumble picking up the ball, so it requires 2 layers of RNG + skill rather than just 1.
I think that's also true in real baseball. Getting a triple basically requires a perfect hit, with a perfect bounce that puts the ball as far away from the outfielders as possible. And the runner needs to be fast enough to run to 3rd base

For anyone who doesn't know in baseball terms, a "Mercy Rule" is a request from the losing team to end the 1 on 1 match earlier than scheduled to spare the loser further humiliation. This is only done when the opponent has a ridiculous score compared to the losing team, like in this scenario.
To add, it's often called a "run rule" in baseball, where the game is called after a team is up by a certain number of runs after a certain number of innings (usually an N-inning game will be called after a team is up by 10 runs after N-2 innings have been played). In Wii baseball, the run rule is 5 runs after the first or second inning.
That’s….. that’s not it at all dude. A mercy rule is a certain number of score, in this case runs, a team can be up by that automatically ends the game. For example, most beer league softball leagues have a mercy rule that starts in a certain inning. Say team A scores 30 (very possible) in the first three innings and team B doesn’t score. If the mercy rule is a 20 run lead in the 5th inning, they’ll only play till the fifth inning. In wii baseball, the mercy rule is a 10 run lead after the end of the first inning. There is no request, that’s why it’s called a mercy RULE

This game leaves Elisa with an ERA of 891 (there’s probably some runs that are unearned and would lower it but I’m not watching the whole video to calculate). This is more than 4x worse the current worse ERA in the MLB (set by Joe Cleary in 1945) of 189
At 12-0, there is a bloop over the 3rd baseman that arguably should have been caught, as well as two prior dropsies in the outfield. The 3rd baseman does not ! on the play though, so it can be argued that it would be appropriately scored a hit. If giving an error on that play, there would be 10 ER on the inning (the two runners reaching on outfield dropsies being unearned runs, as they should have been out). If you give the 12-0 play as a base hit, there are one or two fielding errors on ground balls to the outfielders after that point, but the runners would have scored if they had not advanced an extra base due to the error, so those runs would still be earned. The next error that erases an out comes at 30-0, which would be the 3rd out of the inning. Excluding the 2 unearned runs from before, there are 28 earned runs in the inning. The more pitcher friendly scorer gives an ERA of 90. The fielder friendly scorer gives an ERA of 252, which isn't as high but still would be the record.
Virtually none of these runs are earned. After the first two or three errors they are all unearned. If there were 5 runs at time of third error ERA tops out at 5 times 9: 45.00 ERA. Or 35 if this is a 7 inning game?
I remember getting 1 point and the ai getting 5 points in the first inning. After the 3rd out I was thinking "Ok, gotta get out of this hole." But then "MERCY RULE" came across the screen. 1-5... I called shenanigans.

ERA calculator :( reaches base on an error and scores and Nerd reaches base on an error and scores resulting in two unearned runs. When the score is 30-0 Nerd reaches base on another error resulting in every run afterwards to be unearned, as without errors this would be the third out. The result is 28 earned runs in one inning pitched out of a possible 3 for an era of 84 (28÷1×3,) which while not as bad as the 891 some people get by assuming every run is earned in a 9 inning game is still terrible. In order to get something comparable in a real game, a pitcher would likely come in, get an out, then get hit with 3 runs and get pulled. This results in an ERA of 81.8 Edit: Said strike instead of out like a dummy. The out is needed in order to be counted as pitching ⅓ of an inning.
