It’s the best daily drive ever, I have one Ls400 and I want another but truly celsior right hand drive.
Is it difficult driving a right hand drive car in New York City? The Toyota Celsior/Lexus LS is truly a legendary car that no one expected from Toyota at the time. Thanks for sharing this video. I didn't know you could get cloth seats in this car.
+gedaman after a while you get used to it. It poses some difficulties like passing double parked cars on two-direction streets - but eventually it all becomes second nature frankly.
The original Celsior/LS400 was a loss-leader for Toyota. They needed to produce something exceptional to develop the Lexus brand.
If you liked this video you may like my quick rundown of some little-known features of this car: ua-cam.com/video/M3wXDbJ9M5A/v-deo.html
You can use the google translate on your phone to see what the radio buttons are. That is an aftermarket radio btw.
+Justin Mindes that's what I eventually ended up doing. And it's sort of aftermarket. It's made by Toyota, and installed at the dealership. I believe I mentioned it in the video - this was a line of navigation units designed by Toyota to add navigation to models that never had it as an option.
Wool seat, more expensive than leather seats
i've noticed japanese folk maintain their cars to much higher standards then most and holy crap@!! those cloth seats are extremely rare for the LS those where special order only the first gens also had color options
+HumbledGod these cloth seats are rare - and extremely comfortable. It's like falling into an old couch.
Japanese cars are required to be maintained in order to be kept street legal. The standards there are much higher. Timing belts in Japan are changed religiously while here in the states most people don't even know what a timing belt is.
ANYWAY YOU GUYS COULD GET A 2GEN ARISTO ?
@0:20 ... in case that gas guzzling is no problem for you because gas is cheap and one in a few place in the world where gas is cheap is Murica and Saudi Arabia.
These cars are actually extremely good on gas ... assuming you don't slam them, put straight pipes, an intake, and rev it around town all day long. And while yes, it will require more gas than a $6k civic will over a week of commuting - you're going to feel alot better in the Celsior. That's what I was trying to say really.
