The saddest part about this for me is that his mom thought he was alive for weeks because she always worked during the day and came home at night when his spirit was visible. She gave him food (that he couldnt eat because he was actually a spirit) and medicine (that he also obviously couldnt take for the same reason) because she was under the illusion that her son was alive and suffering from hallucinations when he told his stories. And it's also sad that she didn't actually break her promise to Ron. She did stay at home, which is why she couldnt see him (his spirit was only visible at night) and searched around the house for him, which led to her finding his corpse. The whole concept of the mom interacting with the spirit of her dead son for weeks thinking he's alive really hits hard for me.
This game was hard for me to watch as a victim of child neglect and abuse. It wasn’t uncomfortable to the point where I couldn’t watch but I did feel the anxiety triggers a little. The creator seems like they pulled this straight from the heart, the detail and emotions that came with it are very real. You never know what happens behind closed doors but it’s a reality to so many people. Thankfully the police came and took my brother and I before anything more serious could happen but it’s a lifetime of mental, emotional, and some physical scars that take healing. This game I think is great for raising the awareness of the true horrors that can happen right next door.
I wish you luck in recovery, and you're string for sharing what happened to you on the internet. Many people do not realize these things can happen and they do we just don't know about it
@@cloudaria1081 it’s been a lot of discovery and forgiveness to lessen the burdens that we put on me. for anyone in the comments right now: he's not kidding, this game is *dark*. the story is told extremely well and during stream I praised it for giving its subject matter the weight it deserved. with things like this it can be difficulty to find a balance between letting things sink in while not being too hamfisted and this game strikes that balance very well. and the big monster being the father makes a ton of sense from the perspective of a child who can't be any older than. watching bits of this back im realizing that this child is like, maybe 34 inches (86cm) tall or so, judging by where his eye level is compared to the table, which is a normal height for a 2-3 year old, but his ability to read suggests that he's like, at least 6, possibly even older, which points to a severe failure to thrive (which is just fancy medical speak for a child being smaller than they should be), which is very common in cases of neglect and abuse. the way this child seems to view and interact with the world also suggests that developmentally he's behind what would be expected at his age, which can also happen in cases like this (genie wiley is an extreme example of this). my biological parents were pretty bad at the whole parenting thing. Not nearly to this degree, they just forgot to feed me (drugs + alcohol) and then lost custody and I got adopted by people who did remember to feed me. Its important for stories like this to get told, as long as they get handled with care. Normally I would sideeye the idea of a horror game about child abuse, as in the wrong hands it can very easily turn into using a tragedy for shock value, but this one is handled well and doesn't get into that territory
oh man... I never thought I'd cry over a game after RDR2. I am so disturbed. Because cases like these DO happen IRL. Oh my god... I thought the kid is just having schizophrenia because of being neglected by both parents. And all the doll stuff were all in the boy's head... I wasn't expecting it to turn much darker than it is. To all you folks out there experiencing the same abuse as this kid, I pray that no more suffer the same fate as the boy in the game. I pray that you get the courage and help to get through such abusive home.
As bad as the mum was for leaving Ron. It's really common for parents (especially mothers) to believe their abusive partner would never hurt the kids. John Battaglia was left alone with his two daughters (Mary Faith (9) and Liberty Mae Battaglia (6)) because while he was really bad to his estranged ex wife, Mary Jeane Pearle, she'd never seen or heard him be cruel to them. In fact, he'd always been a good father. She thought her children would be safe. One night (May 2, 2001) she got a phone call from her daughters asking "Why do you want daddy to go to jail?", followed by two gunshots. This case seriously opened the door for custody battles to take into account prior records of anger issues and abuse, which had been ignored up to that point. As sad as it is, it did a lot of good for future potential victims.
@nullnull4010 how could you turn this into a men bad thing when women and men are both capable that one youtube mom got arrested months ago and she was also bad but you don't see me going and women wonder why dads want custody of their kids
I am glad the graphic was this way. It would have been much harder to watch, if it had been more realistic. This just made it a bit more creepy, but it is easier to place it in a "not real" box.
At the end i broke in tears, the first time i saw it, damn man. this stuff happens in real life and it just hurts so much, the realization of the other kids ways they were murdered, i just couldn't help myself
Last three kids sitting position shows that 1)the girl was thrown into hole,2)boy burn into fire,3) one is died into a car's diki.all died because of their bad parents 😢
As a child of bad parenting myself (not at this level but still) I like this very much! Like not in a positive way of course, the story is creepy and sad af, but I think the devs did a very good job in telling the story and making you experience the situations through the lens of the ab*s3d child. The helplessness, the monsters... And very good plot twist at the end. Overall great game! Thank u for your videos and the games you bring to us Insym
Same here, it wasn’t being cartoonishly evil or ignorant like a lot of horror games are. I grew up with unhappy parents that took it out on the kids, so it was a very honest game on family abuse…just to the sad extreme.
I watched a lot of true crime vids here on youtube at some point, and some of them were about children or babies going through ab*se and worse. This game made me wonder what those children can think of during those moments... So many ppl don't deserve to have children. Like ... a looot of ppl.
Interesting so it also shows where the other kids were stashed after killed, one buried , one set on fire, one suffocated or killed in the trunk of a car and your character was killed and stashed in the closet that's why the closet is there with you at the end of the game. Damn that game's story is real
29:50 i think these kids resemble their deaths, the first was buried alive, the second was burned to death, the third suffocates at the back of the car, and finally, Ron who killed and put in the closet. This game is just so sad. 🥺
As a victim of child abuse, it wasn't my dad but it was my aunt who more so acted like the dad in this story. It's really common for abused children to insist that their parents aren't bad, too. We are meant to love our parents. We completely rely on them for a long time so that bond is incredibly strong and for kids in these situations it's actually a kind of defence to believe that it's just occasional outbursts but that their parents are still good people who love them. They will lie to keep their parents from being arrested and taken away because that can be scarier than continuing to live in an abusive household. It's normally not until kids are quite a bit older that they'll start to realise things would be better without that person - or else the abuse has to be *extremely* bad to overcome it at younger ages. I spent all night crying after watching you play this game. Man this hurts hard. I thought it would be a gorey horror game but it took the emotional route.
The mom wasn't seeing their ghost child that's why she assumed he was sleeping till 1pm and was leaving for work and when she was coming back late the ghost was visible so she didn't know about the whole situation for a long time probably. And she thought the father just packed himself and left as she told him to do. And since she was able to see the ghost of her child he was telling her different stories to deny the reality that's why she thought he has hallucinations and the doll (the knowing part of him) appeared in all of these stories. That's so deep, man. And at the end other kids' ways of death were also shown as one was burned, other one burried alive etc. Absolutely devastating for a game with a "silly, lazy graphics", which just gave it even better vibe.
From someone who grow up with an Alcoholic dad and also my mum drank but not as much i still remember the violent fights and the moments i had baracade myself in my room just so my dad wouldn't attack me and the worse thing is that i still loved my parents despite what they put us through in our childhood and has an adult now i still love them though its took years to have the relationship we have now i wont say its easy. The most sad part about this is that at the time of this upload domestic violence is getting so out of hand in Australia there are now ads everywhere about standing up to it. What bad timing ngl
In the last scene, the children that the son meets, are one in the car trunk, one in the pit(or grave), and one on fire. And the son is staying in the closet...They are all dead and keep staying where they last.
As shitty as this sounds I was actually thinking that this would be an anthology of stories, Fears to Fathom style. It started with "Story 1" and a door to go through and I was kind of expecting more doors with more "stories". As much as I hate to say it there's lots of different way stories with this "theme" could play out and be presented differently. Or even adjacent themes like inter-generational trauma could be included in the anthology.

The game is fucked up but it’s much worse when you know this game is based on a true story
Wow the game is incredible
What marks a "good game" its not being good natured or ethically "fair". It presented a lore, being positive or not, the presentation was good.
Came here to be scared, leaving crying
this game was peak fiction
'hi youtube how are you doing and welcome to bad parenting' lmao
You won't believe me but I am that type of person that says I like dark games but never get that much affected with them but this game got me so bad 😢
video uploaded 15 seconds ago? I'm cooking
The last scene... those are places where they got unalived... fuck me that's dark 💀
So that's how they all meet their fate
Well, why did I watch this.
- Anyways, thank you very much for the video!
I would never play a game as this myself!
congrats on 1 milion subs
My god this was dark and so sad. Too dark in all honesty!
Not every story needs to be sunshine and roses, this story was very well told
So the other three kids were also killed by their parents I take it? One buried, one burned, one suffocated on a sofa.
Not sofa, its the back of a car
Insym!!! Don't forget about home sweet home 2
This was beautiful
As shitty as this sounds I was actually thinking that this would be an anthology of stories, Fears to Fathom style. It started with "Story 1" and a door to go through and I was kind of expecting more doors with more "stories". As much as I hate to say it there's lots of different way stories with this "theme" could play out and be presented differently. Or even adjacent themes like inter-generational trauma could be included in the anthology.
Very Gumby and Pokey animation
So mom working day to night to avoid toxic husband and only to find out son is gone 14 days later? 🤔
This is so fucked up, so the end.... the 1 kid was buried alive, the one kid died in the trunk of a car, and the other got burnt to death.
Yay I just woke up and saw this
omg I'm crying so harddd 😢
1:52 why does dads face look like that 😭😭😭
