He took his cap off so quickly. Then was moved to tears. Respect. Love.
Must've watched it 1000 times and its just as powerful a gesture each and every time
Without even being fully aware of what was happening; the hat instinctively came off.. it's beautiful
Why in every video some idiot has to comment this.
@@dep7up comment what? I don’t understand how you’re seeing something negative with this.
@@unbearifiedbear1885 my thoughts exactly it was his first instinct like a reflex can't tell u how much i admired that and make me respect ian even more than i already i'am and ofcourse the teacher who is obviously a deserving giant himself of the atmost respect, and i'm not even english or an arsenal fan , this is universal , sorry for babbling too much this got me hard

The importance of men in fatherly roles is fundamental to a good, wholesome society.
Did u know that even in poor single father communities, if there still a lot of male figures like grandfather's and uncles they community tends to do much better than without
agreed 💯💯💯💯
@@paps.. agreed 💯💯💯💯
Yeah people need their da's
@@jacobjorgenson9285 Be it for your kids.
Ian instantly takes off his hat, that just shows how much respect he's got for Mr. Pigden, gota love it!
Duh
@@dep7up ugh I’m starting to see you’re reading these comments and seeing people inspired by something beautiful and you believe your duty is to call bs on them. You are what isn’t needed in the positive progression of humanity. What’s sad is you probably don’t even care about your role in holding us back.
@@michaeldorsey1394 most of these people that comment this care about getting likes and subscribers. I don’t hate the video or the moment in the video.
@@dep7up ok I respect where you’re coming from. Sorry if I sounded like a jerk or anything.
@@dep7up actually I reread my comment and I did sound like a jerk and I’m sorry.
The teacher was in the RAF during WW2, but said watching Ian earn his first cap for England was the proudest moment of his life. That generation was nothing but class.
The greatest generation
Different breed !!
Guy Gibson called his dog nig*er. Not so classy.
Douglas-Bader refused to let his batman go back to the UK in a prisoner swap. He treated the man appallingly.
Definitely the greatest generation. Their kids however the baby boomers are total idiots.
Unfortunately fighting for the wrong side
One of my most favourite ever clips on the Internet.
Rest well Mr Pigden
You a pig den?
💯 FACTS!!!❤❤❤
Mine too!!!
I could listen to him say ‘Hello Ian’ a hundred times over. So warm and welcoming ☺️
Indeed
Same thought exactly
Tru dat !!
Reminds me of a storybook character
100%
"I am soo glad you have done well with your self". Powerful words 🥺
The way he says “hello Ian” he sounds like an angel 😇
Maybe he is
We don't know how angels sound like
When he said " dead " , he can't control his emotion anymore .
Saw a little boy with love, respect and admiration
Taking off his cap is the greatest moment of respect for his mentor
That's a *TEACHER* someone that *TRANSFORMS* you, Rest In Peace Mr.Pigden 🕊❤🌹
A true purpose of teacher should be like this.
@arunraj
Absolutely agree bro, great comment. 👏🏽
Agreed
U deserved 100 mil Likes bruhh
Hw died in 2007 innit
Fr, not everyone knows how to teach, and instead of dealing with students problems they chose to scold them
In the longer clip there’s a moment when a tear falls from Mr. Pigden’s cheek.. two legends crying together, gets me every time I see it.
This story gets me everytime. I dont have a father. Never have
That might be true, but one day you will be one, I say that because I can relate to you, and trust me, it’s worth it to give a chance to someone who never had one! I wish you all the strength and honor, fight on!
There’s always good positive males to look up to who are older and like fathers even if we are 50
This isn't is dad
@@MarkSherry1 but its a father figure who impacted his life very much. Pretty much a dad
Got me too buddy
The look in his eyes taking off the hat shows how respectful he is as a boy and still is. Top man. Respect
Man, I love Ian Wright. He genuinely seems like a really good dude.
Perfect gentleman. Took off his hat to greet an elder.
Life really is too short. The way Ian took off his hat was the perfect definition of respect. I watched this more than ten times. Love really is a powerful tool. Love knows no race, no boundaries and Love really changes a whole lot. Now Ian graces us with his thoughts and his vast knowledge on sports in the EPL daily.
A moment in time that Ian will forever cherish.
I wish there was more video to watch of this

Sometimes you just need that one person to believe in you 🙌

The fact that he took off his hat shows that he has the upmost respect for this man . He had true love and respect for this man .
This clip not only makes me emotional every time i see it, but it also resonates with me so much! I spent two years in an english school and suffered horrible racial abuse, bullying and alienation! None of the teachers ever stood up for me bar just one! My history teacher! Looking back, he would look out for me on the playground and whenever he could see I was close to having enough, he would call me over, and ask me history related questions knowing how passionate i was about the subject! But also because i didnt want to disappoint him! Great great man who Im still in touch with, and even had over for christmas dinner two years ago!
School can be a tough place for many, but one role model can make a hell of a difference!
💯
Fact that he took his hat off almost instantly shows the respect he has for him.❤
Beautiful. Ian Wright always wears his heart on his sleeve.
😢🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽⚽️The Beautiful....The sweetest reunion.
RIP Sir 🕊
Takes his hat off right away as a mark of respect !!! What a gentleman
I love the way Ian Wright shows his respect, for this teacher from his past.
He takes his hat off, this shows the enormous impact this teacher had upon Ian Wright's formative years.
It is just lovely to see.
Gb them both!
Ian Wright is an absolute gem and how lucky he was to have this amazing teacher in his life. Why can't we all be this compassionate with each other.
He respects him SO MUCH !!🫶🏿🫶🏾🫶🏻🫶🏼
It made me emotional to see the great Ian Wright seeing one of his mentor's who helped him in his youth Mr C Pigden and for him seeing someone that he had thought was dead! Was still alive and proud of Ian's Success. Brilliant post RIP MR PIGDEN. You might be gone but you will never be forgotten!! A great man with a huge heart.
@@bushwacka8395 thank you for Correcting me.
I love this and can relate to it.
I began my teaching career wearing an academic gown preparing lads for university and finished it teaching troubled lads in a PRU in Liverpool.
I had the honour to be one lad’s best man at his wedding but stood at the graveside of one of my lads who was out of reach and took 8 bullets to the chest.
I am now 68 years of age and recovering from surgery for cancer but I owe everything to a teacher named Alan Jackson who fired a passion in me and inspired me.
I am proud to have once been a member of the teaching profession.
This was beautiful. RIP Mr Pigden.
that instandly breaking voice ..man im teared up ;--;
Man this is so good for the soul
being a teacher this impacted me A LOT
God bless you, Mr. Pigden for being a part of Ian life teachers can be a very important part of a child life when he has no one 🙏
From a man to another man, lessons gets passed down....we all need more of these men....
This clip always brings a tear to the eye.!!
Same.
Crazy humble moment
This clip always gets me … as a teacher myself this is what I have always tried to be … that one person who believes in a child so much so that they become who they want to be. What an amazing man Mr Pigden was.
“..and I’m so glad, you’ve done so well with yourself.” shit that’s all he wanted to hear
Coming from myself a Liverpool born and bred Liverpool fan. What an exceptional human being Ian Wright is. Proper footballer. I can’t speak highly enough about this man. Love this video. Always a go to over the years for the spirit of man kind

RIP Sydney Pigden. May we all die twice.
lol 🍻
Total respect to you, Mr Ian Wright.....I take my hat off for you, my friend, the world needs more men like you ❤️ 😊
You can hear the caring in the teachers voice. I don't think people realise how much a caring make role model matters
Man had a teacher like that...was absolutely fearless would go to the worse part of town to tell us to get to school. He loved us for real and me personally owe him everything...no matter how bad we was he was always there even after he chased us in to graduation 🎓 I miss him so much we called him our white dad lol
Stop this 😢 I got goosebumps my entire body, that was heartbreaking
I’m so glad that Ian got to be reunited with his beloved former teacher, and I’m even more happy that it was caught on camera so that Ian can relive it and cherish it for the rest of his life. Rest In Peace, Mr. Pigden.
When I was about 8 my first male roll model was mr Ian Wright. 30 years later and still my roll model.
Awwwww this whole backstory is so touching❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ this is what we need more in the world

“Hello Ian, long time no see” in such a calm nice voice
Makes me crying every time I watch it! Respect all over for Ian and for his teacher, God bless his soul! ❤
I love that he instinctively off his hat on seeing his old teacher. That's respect!
That is what you call a man
That was a beautiful thing to see. His respect was instant and automatic. The shock profound. Just goes to show the importance of a father figure is. Especially to young men.
The respect he shows by taking off his hat is heartwarming
It's great to see genuine gratitude to a person whose kindness helps Shap the life of one of the nicest people in football
Mr Pigden voice so soothing to hear ..
