I’ve used this style of brush for a couple of years now and find it much better than the sponge type applicators. I use Gyeon Q2 Tire and these work brilliantly. I’ve also found that I actually use less product as agitating the brush on the tire draws the dressing out of the bristles (makes cleaning them a doddle too).
Been using the carscope version with PERL for last couple years. Just recently switched to Carpro darkside tyre sealant and its noticeably better than PERL. Gives a really dark matt finish and lasts a lot longer.
What I use is a round foam pad applicator cut in half with Turtle Wax tyre shine. The applicator doesn't absorb the dressing and has a even layer applied to the tyre. No mess and easy apply.
Same brush dressed up differently has been available on AliExpress for a couple of quid. The iron-shaped one they do has a good following aswell. That's shot up to the hefty price of around £6 for two
Hi Jon, I have 4, 1” wood boards about 10” long that I drive my car on that eliminates that problem of getting the dressing to cover the bottom edge of the tire.
I bought one from Carscope a good couple of years ago.At the time it was a Purestar Korea branded one and it is still going strong! There was nearly nobody in the UK selling them either. I really like it. It’s nice to see different colours of them coming out now too. I’ve got a spare one now too but haven’t used it yet as the original is still going so strong.
Been using an unbranded one for a while now, with Gyeon Tire Express. I like it and using about 3 half squirts per car. I see the coverage on application more consisant and for me, the dressing lasts a bit longer. You might want to look at rimmats for getting to the bottom of the tire.
i have the in2detailing round sponge tyre dressing applicator . its fantastic. easy to manouver , squeezable (so can get it right next to the tyre) and easily to rinse when finished. Also if you water perl down slightly it makes the tyres more shiney than black, if that's what you prefer.
I have the carscope one, I really love it but after a while the bristles come away from the outside edges, and it’s no longer flat. But it’s still a really good brush.
Because of yo Jon I bought the Lucullan brushes when you raved about them as you were cleaning your first Porsche. The black one ; you raved how fantastic they cleaned the steering wheel, the seats etc. I have 4 of those yellow/orange Lucullan brushes. I love them 👍
Good Stuff! For Carpro Darkside or similarly thick tire dressings, I like the scrub ninja wedge scrubbers. For thinner dressings I like the microfiber wedge shaped applicators followed by the concave sponge applicators.
I've got the Alien Magic version and for applying GT Tyre Serum its really really lovely. I do clean it thoroughly after with Surfex and it seems to be holding up.
It looks like a great brush, you'll have to roll the car back to cover the section that's hard to reach at the very bottom. Jon, you should consider looking at Rimmats for this purpose and also for cleaning. Rimmats prevent your microfiber towels or drying towels to touch the floor thus not picking up dirt from the floor. If you park the car so the edge of the sidewall is over the edge then this tool from Carpro would be awesome 👌
i've been using those sponge applicators in which the oils seep through to where you are holding it and it gets all over your gloves , so i brought another sponge one cut it in half and re glued it together thinking the oil will stop once it hits the glue . If it fails i will invest in one of these brushes
Sadly sold out. I had been using a microfibre pad,but then moved to the Maguires tyre foam but I’m still not 100% happy. Maybe this would be a better applicator
I just use a bogstandard yellow sponge cut into smaller shapes and discard after a few uses on each side. Cost pennies and probably better than this thing
These brushes are great. Product doesnt soak into the brush like it does with a sponge, so yo7 use less product. As a helpful hint, Alien Magic do them for £6.95. Good demo Jon
I'm using a Gtechniq AP2 coating applicator pad - works well and it's very compact. (I'm a chauffeur, and actually carry tyre shine & the applicator in the car) It's the style which has a little pocket on the back for your fingers. P.S your audio level is rather low
That is a copy of the Carscope tyre brush that has been on the go for a good few years. It is my brush of choice for tyres and has been for a few years.
you end up with too much equipment and not enough space. I can just push the car back half a foot, its quicker than getting the rim matts out and moving onto them and putting them away again at least for me.
@@ForensicDetailing and saved yourself 50 quid into the bargain.... I am less able to do the pushing approach as I have a Tesla, and dont like getting into it mid cleaning while mucky myself...
I grabbed this brush just at that point it identified as a small round makeupbrush for a pound or 2 wtf is going on and yet I will still buy it 😂😂😂😂😂 the bristles looks like there out of the xl big brush i can only agree with the detail factory brushes premium products come at premium prices unfortunately
Aliexpress, less than £1.50 & apart from colour, it's identical I believe although, not sure about the chemical resistant side. My biggest issue with these beyond the brand tax is the need to wash them after every use. This needs to be done to prevent the bristles coming away from the base but it means you are priming it every use with an excessive amount of product as you highlight. I use it with water based dressings only & I don't wash it so its always primed. With water based dressings this seems to work but when it does eventually fail I'll not be repurchasing. I'll go back to my trusty cut up sponges which don't need washed out each wash & cost less than 20p an applicator & will last for several applications as well.
didn’t CarScope get there ages ago ….? I’ve had it for a long time and it’s the best tyre applicator by a chunky distance. Carpro ripping it off isn’t all that impressive
Made me laugh with the “like a weable” comment. Only people of a certain age will know what on earth you’re on about. Unfortunately I am of that certain age. Weables wobble but don’t fall down. 😂
You should really get yourself a GoPro and do POV'S will be a lot easier for you and you will also be able to use both hands... I'm really surprised that you don't actually do that given how finicky you are with your work...🤔🤔😳😳🙅♀️ it's like being on a roller coaster sometimes with your camera handling...🤣
"im quite clever" (then pours half the dressing on the worktop :) )
CarPro DarkSide Tyre Brush >>> tinyurl.com/3pvura4j
we all have genius moments 🙂
could see this coming a mile away. perl is extremely viscous and you have to be extra cautious when pouring otherwise it goes everywhere! 😂
I go to B&M and buy the yellow and green dish sponges. Like 12 for £1.
They apply Meguiars Endurance absolutely perfect.
Yes this. Mine is the used ones from the kitchen!
Old kitchen sink sponge enjoyer here. Thats what i use. I even cut it in half sometimes for extra tightness. Bonus, it goes in the bin after.
Yep, I've given up with sponge applicators and found this little brush to be the best tyre applicator. Nice one Jon.

Is it the same? The car scope one has issues with solvents?
@@F1CJEUK tried it with Carpro Darkside, the next time I used it the bristles came off

Been using this for a while it’s just a re branded temu one
I love my Temu ones for $2
Same brush dressed up differently has been available on AliExpress for a couple of quid. The iron-shaped one they do has a good following aswell. That's shot up to the hefty price of around £6 for two
I’ve been using the 50 Cal and love it. The end comes of if you want flat or curved head.
I’ve found trigger gel based dressing work the best.
Hi Jon, I have 4, 1” wood boards about 10” long that I drive my car on that eliminates that problem of getting the dressing to cover the bottom edge of the tire.

Youve got a fan! Epic Automotive Detailing copied this video a few weeks after yours 😝😝😝

Got one off TEMU for £2. Different colour but the same design.
I drive my car on small 6x1 inch planks, gets the tyre gel to the bottom of the tyres with ease.
i have the in2detailing round sponge tyre dressing applicator . its fantastic. easy to manouver , squeezable (so can get it right next to the tyre) and easily to rinse when finished. Also if you water perl down slightly it makes the tyres more shiney than black, if that's what you prefer.
I use this type of brush on a daily basis ,with the carpro pearl which I dilute great product and very versatile, great on car interiors
I have the carscope one, I really love it but after a while the bristles come away from the outside edges, and it’s no longer flat. But it’s still a really good brush.
Went from using a piece of old foam to the Carscope brush with their Ink tyre dressing a couple of years ago. Good little brush.
Found the foam tyre applicators that have a curved profile really good and can be used to apply on the bead. A few quid from a car detail wholesaler.
I've got 2 of those from CarPro and I hate them, they are way to stiff and to big. I've got 225/35/19 tires and they don't fit at all
Because of yo Jon I bought the Lucullan brushes when you raved about them as you were cleaning your first Porsche. The black one ; you raved how fantastic they cleaned the steering wheel, the seats etc. I have 4 of those yellow/orange Lucullan brushes. I love them 👍
Love this type of brush. Rarely use anything else for tire dressings.
Good Stuff! For Carpro Darkside or similarly thick tire dressings, I like the scrub ninja wedge scrubbers. For thinner dressings I like the microfiber wedge shaped applicators followed by the concave sponge applicators.
I have a car scope 1 it’s just a makeup brush but it’s brilliant.
Sof 99 shaped sponge works very well for me
I've got the Alien Magic version and for applying GT Tyre Serum its really really lovely. I do clean it thoroughly after with Surfex and it seems to be holding up.

Should take a look at hoof oil brushes - really cheap and generally come with a plastic holder or cap to hold the product and/or contain the mess!
i've been using those sponge applicators in which the oils seep through to where you are holding it and it gets all over your gloves , so i brought another sponge one cut it in half and re glued it together thinking the oil will stop once it hits the glue . If it fails i will invest in one of these brushes
Jon Weebles Wobble but they don’t fall down. I remember a toy in the 1970’s manufactured by Hasbro Playskool
A soft paint brush is a cheaper alternative and good enough for DIY detailing.
Sadly sold out. I had been using a microfibre pad,but then moved to the Maguires tyre foam but I’m still not 100% happy. Maybe this would be a better applicator

Ali express or temu m8
3:11 hmm 🤔1:0 is also my favourite ratio... 👌
Brush looks nice, i'm surprised you use PERL neat! i think i use it 3:1 on the tyres.
I'm using a Gtechniq AP2 coating applicator pad - works well and it's very compact. (I'm a chauffeur, and actually carry tyre shine & the applicator in the car) It's the style which has a little pocket on the back for your fingers.
P.S your audio level is rather low
bought similar brushes in the past and the glue failed on the base and the brissles just fell out
I got imran’s copy at half the price .. but it puts on gyeon tyre coat fantastic I loves it …
John loading up that brush with Perl like @ecdetails loads up a hot wing with ranch dressing!
The only question is, is it better quality than the identical AliExpress version that sheds its bristles?
Being a seasoned cheap skate I would have got an old rag and used that spilt perl on the other tyres!!! 😵
That is a copy of the Carscope tyre brush that has been on the go for a good few years. It is my brush of choice for tyres and has been for a few years.
these were kicking around on the bababababa years before carscope sold them.
Was a makeup brush before carscope found it. Although I will say he was probably the first person to bring light to using it for dressing.
I use similar all the time on my tyres
slightly off topic but how do you find the Falken Tyres
Did review on unplug channel m8. Falken ziex n914 I like
RimMatts will sort the access to the bottom of the tyre issue sir.
you end up with too much equipment and not enough space. I can just push the car back half a foot, its quicker than getting the rim matts out and moving onto them and putting them away again at least for me.

Triggers broom 😂. Better pop down to the council for tour award Jon.
A ten quid specialist tyre dressing brush for most of the way around the wheel …. Take my money now 😂
How does Perl compare to Gyeon tyre expess ?
Pretty similar have both and used them alot. Perl is more liquidy where Tire Express is more of a cream. The look and durability are very similar
Just bought 6 for £11 shipped on AliExpress. I imagine they are exactly the same.
John plasterboard your ceiling make that garage your detailing den 👌💎♥️
Might work better with a thicker product like AG Tyre Gel.
Do people use tyre paint these days?
Trade does
i got a purestar tyre brush... and after 10ish uses it literally fell apart
Hahaha Triggers broom passed down through generations of his family, only 17 new heads and 14 new handles, classic! 😂
Henry @Carscope has sold an identical brush for years. Less than half the price of this.
ill raise your henry and see you with a Temu or Ali Express.
Nice!! What shelves are you using for your products (the silver low profile ones)
display pro sell mate
A flat base may have made it less comfortable to hold

Those alloys could do with a mint up John!!…. Looking a tad grubby!!🙄
One of the main reason I Jack the car up when applying tyre dressings👌
I prefer Darkside much more than PERL 😁
The one I bought didn't last very long before the bristles started coming out in clumps
didn’t CarScope get there ages ago ….? I’ve had it for a long time and it’s the best tyre applicator by a chunky distance. Carpro ripping it off isn’t all that impressive
Bought this brush and regret it. Uses waaay too much product, think ill stick to sponge 😕
Same here, big hopes, result=little shamefull for carpro
Jon, did you know? You should be in design!
Nothing new there John, I've been using that exact brush (but a different colour) for years.
Looks OK for low profile tyres, but don't think I'd use it on a 4wd or SUV. Also applying product to it doesn't look ideal. It's too small
I think for bigger tyres you'd be better with an old paint brush or a sponge applicator
I just use a washing up sponge for tyre dressing, it lives in a bag with the greasy stuff…
CarPro Pearl (necklace)
€1,60 on ali. Its just a make-up foundation brush.
2x8 drive on it
One to zero? So... neat lol.
You can get them off Temu
I just think these applicators are a fad - I think you can’t beat a sponge frankly and a lot cheaper.
I'll stick to buying them from China for 2 quid
Ahh, but weebles wobble, but they don't fall down 😂
You get out of here Jon👍
I bought them from Aliexpress for 1 Euro
Made me laugh with the “like a weable” comment. Only people of a certain age will know what on earth you’re on about. Unfortunately I am of that certain age.
Weables wobble but don’t fall down. 😂
Temu ones are the same quality, as I have carscope ones, no difference
Link does not work
u sure mate? works for me although I get some message about leaving you tube which is new
Yeah working now before it said a 504 error or something sorry@@ForensicDetailing
What’s wrong with an old past it’s best micro fibre? 😂 £10 for a gizmo that sums up what detailing suppliers are about currently
thx fer da review. good content. it is a POS
9 BLOODY QUID!? Jeff off lol Who are the clowns buying this? No curve to follow the face of the tyre...instant no!
Don’t quit your day job ,just yet🇨🇦🤣

👍👍😊

The wireless mics have lots of issues with them form wise. And you have to export data.
CARSCOPE brought this to the market years ago, it’s nothing new
these were on ali express for decades some detailers start using them to dress tyres and it became a thing.
I will literally never wash this. Especially after each use. No one has time for this.
9 quid for a brush 🤔🙄
Check out the Carscope one it's even more expensive I believe
Porche porche porche ???????????
The nonsens of it ..
everybody just keep buying all these unnecessary tools you can buy with your money

3:45 no 🧤 FTW?
it's oxide-something so must be great for skin/blood...🤌
