"You're about to be six? Very good" lmao as a former sub this is such a relatable moment 😂 little kids really do just announce unrelated things and that's all you can say lol.
@@Nicole.2423 lmao fr, I can never ask a kinder class if they have something to share with the class bc those kids will throw out the most unpredictable comments 😂😂😂 one of my fav kinder kids would just announce the days he had to go to occupational therapy unprompted 😂
I am in awe of your rapport and your flow with the students. You know exactly what you're doing! I am inspired myself and I am excited for wherever life takes you!
Way to define inspired !! Nice job, but sad for them losing you as a teacher - but we need great SLPs everywhere too !! Look forward to seeing your journey - so many ways it can go!
I am a Middle School Special Ed teacher, and I remember when I told my 6th graders that I was changing schools they were sad. One little girl got so upset she was crying. I felt terrible. I know how hard this is. I told them they would be leaving for 7th grade and eventually high school so it was bound to happen. There is a strange and wonderful connection between students and teachers. Every year it’s hard to let them go…
In 3rd grade, our Arabic & Islam teacher was leaving. We(most of the girls) spent our recess time to decorate the class, brought some stuff like cake and presents, and cleaned the classroom to surprise him. I'm currently in 7th grade and i really miss my 3rd grade teachers and classmates. You and your students seem so sweet :D
@@yomna.is.normal PIN PFP ! ! ! ! Also, just adding my experiences but i used to be (highly..??) attached to my teachers. I would get so upset when i had to leave them on the last day. I know I would most likely come back but.. those days were just played so sad to me.
as a former teacher, I wouldn’t not recommend anyone to get into this profession. Students are super disrespectful and we can’t say anything back. your mental health and self esteem gets crushed every other day.. Also schools don’t give a crap about staff members. They will fire you on the spot for anything!
Damn. I don’t cry at all, but hearing those kids go from ‘oh she’s leaving!’😀 to ‘oh, she’s leaving’ 🤔 to oh, she’s leaving 🥺😢 broke me. I am a grown man who has gone through some things and teaches high schoolers who think nothing of cursing me out. But this made me cry. I don’t think I would have the strength to do what you did. I wish you the best in your education, and I wish your kids the best in theirs.
I am so proud and excited for you in the way you handled this situation but my heart breaks for the kids because they love you so much! God bless you all.
Good job young lady! Twenty-three year vet here. I wish I had half the courage to make the types of career decisions you young people in the field are making. Keep growing!
Congratulations on following your dreams even if it means some sadness at the start of your new path. Your loving positive impact on your students will always remain in their little hearts and minds. I left teaching after 24 years. I’m now trying to find my new passion. I miss my students but I don’t miss the politics that stunt growth.
To those being unkind to this young woman. She is doing what is right for her and she has told the children she is leaving in the kindest most empathetic way she could. I do not know how it works in the US but here in the UK reception kids often have teaching assistants as well as the teacher, thus the children will still have a level of continuity and the majority of the children will move on with nothing but fond memories of “miss”. How do I know this? I trained as a SEN (special education needs) teaching assistant in 2007 and my classroom placements were in reception and key stage one. To Nichole em. I hope your further education goes as planned and I am sure you will do well, I found your communication skills with this age group beyond impressive.😊
I know they're sad, because this broke my heart. Kids looooooooove their teachers, especially ones that show them love while teaching them. I would try everything in the world to not leave until the end of the school year, if I find myself having to leave, but I understand sometimes that just won't work. I wish her the best in her next chapter.
I taught prek for years and years and I loved how every day my lil students would amaze me. There were no ‘bad kids’ in my classroom, and I see that same approach in your classroom. I know that setting the stage so that children can listen and also express themselves takes such skill. Maybe it isn’t brain surgery, but not everyone can do what you do. You, ma’am are a hero without a cape, as far as I’m concerned, I wish you so well on your continued journey in growing your brain, and may we all continue to learn and grow
Kids keep it real... if they like you and will miss ya..they will let ya know. Awwww the clone part and the little gurl up front on the right .....gulp... awwww she was sad
Nice way to break the news. I did something similar but all my first graders got very upset even though I’d be missing only one marking quarter and was definitely returning to them. They had a hard time conceptualizing a school where the teachers were students! In pre-internet days, I showed them by bring a university yearbook that had pictures of different classes. Then we had “let’s go to university lessons,” a role play for parts of lessons. It was interesting to see their perceptions of grad. school!
Great video! As a former teacher myself, I can totally relate to these mistakes. It's so important for educators transitioning into new careers to be aware of these pitfalls. Thanks for sharing!
This is one of the best grades to teach when kids are wanting to learn. It's tough, though, to handle 15 to 20 at once. I've done it many times as a Sub. But I can see what a good teacher you are. You did a great job explaining why you are leaving. I'm sure your students really missed you.
That was so sad. It shows they really loved you! I am a retired teacher who tutors students in Reading. They don't realize how much I miss them when we're on breaks. I do hope and pray your new goal was met and you succeed in all you do.💖
I’m unfortunately leaving the profession at the end of this year, also going back to school to become a BCBA. I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to tell my current students and especially my former students that I won’t be at school next year. This is giving me some ideas, but I know I’m going to be torn up. 😩
Sad the timing was in mid school year. Not a criticism, I was a sub for years for special education and was a familiar figure when teachers were sick, or on leave so when I had do stop mid-year it broke my heart.
Probably around 90% of all teachers leave due to the atrocious behavior of kids these days. The kids arrive hopped up on sugar, or in HS drugs, and have zero interest in learning, and there's usually a few in the class who are openly antagonistic, doing everything they can to upset the teacher and stop any learing from taking place. The main interest for HS students is which new videos to share with each other on their cell phones...and many of those videos are horribly violent.
I wish you much success in your new endeavor! BTW, your district must be lovely to allow you to post this on UA-cam. Most districts would never allow this.
"Why don't they just make a clone, so you can stay here?" I love little kids!!🤣🤣 Best of luck in your new career. SLP's are definitely needed.
good idea with clones lol
