The fact that Zach and Greg can shed all night long with solos like this, just amazes me how much longevity they have. makes me feel like an amateur lmao
It’s so fucking wild to hear “xxx is up next” after Zach finishes playing. He’s just a normal dude playing at an open mic, he just so happens to be Zach hill though. I couldn’t even imagine trying to go up after him and play my own stuff lol.
@@EarthWorms77 greg saunier ! he’s the other drummer in this clip, known for his work with the band deerhoof. check him out! the fact that you’ve even seen this video probably means you’ll enjoy his antics
So,…is this a west coast thing? I mean, I get that dude is super fast and can play drums and all, but I don’t get the whole orgy crowd standing there watching it for 45 fucking minutes.
@@PleaseGodSmiteMe ... and the gig is to just, like... sit down and blast out sticking patterns against an opponent as fast as you both can for as long as possible and see who collapses first or something?
@@Glitch-nr9ct it's a noise thing sonically but also a lot of really interesting patterns can be done when you do duo solos. i think for most people it is one of those things where you have to be there to get it, kinda like how looking at a Rothko on the internet is totally different from seeing one in person. i saw Greg Saunier (one guy in this clip) do this with a local guy at an afterparty show and it was incredible.
listen to Zach's other music, and you'll start to get it. But if you're just gonna be a lazy and unreliable critic without doing any research on it, no one is gonna listen to you.
Wake up babe, new old footage of zach doing something that seems physically impossible

you'll get there eventually if that's what you're going for, keep it up.

greg’s really one of the only living drummers able to go to toe to toe with zach, crazy shit
Greg who?

@@poopyjoe7883 I'll check him out thanks!
he's the only one that it makes sense with
Brain Chippendale from lighting bolt as well would work well here
Crazy once you realize he’s doing this for 45 minutes straight
meth is a hell of a drug
no because it gets better than that, there are *jumpcuts* so they went LONGER than what was shown here
zach hill is philosophical punk
around the 7 minute mark he literally plays biblical violence at like 3x speed. (seriously slow it down)
oh lord its 44 minutes of glory!!! a lost relic
10:35 Seems to be the same drum pattern they used in the Death Grips song Two Heavens
it reminds me more of a segment about ten minutes into necromancer. this beat isnt the same as two heavens, its WAY busier than it
He always does this in hella he uses this a few times as well as in team sleep
tthe transcript for this video is amazing.
my arms are so sore after watching this
This is a blessing
Pure inspiration.
imagine charting this for guitar hero or rock band
His sound is so raw
So glad I found this, I always wondered if they'd done anything together
nobody can convince me that he isn't the greatest of all time.
Thank you!
Such a legend
Thank you for this!
haha shit fancy seeing u here filip
@@mochaburner5611 of course 🫡
Zach is a beast
Me encanta.
amazing
this is awesome
Diy house kits look like this happened to them before every show
Muy bueno ♡
the best of the best
10:35 23:55 cool beats
the first one is a beat zach uses a lot while improvising , it shows up in necromancer at a couple points
@@poopyjoe7883 it’s also in ziplock quilts that kill from hot off his new album
Is this Nervous Cop??
In the end it was over and I had a hard time saying goodbye
Holy SHIT the stamina
would love to see him alongside brian chippendale one day..
frrrr that’s the last leg of the triangle between zach, greg, and brian
alluuuuriiiiinnnggg!!!!!!!!!!
who is the other drummer?
pretty sure it's Greg Saunier (Deerhoof)
at 18:43 looks like kid millions from oneida, but i'm not sure
Greg Saunier
wtf, crazy
KEEP BREAKING DA SHIT!!!!!
is it still a drum solo or a drum duet?
This dudes got a better gas tank than most pro runners
30:55 this part on kinda starts to sound like Brown Metal by Hella
