I put hardgroove in the title whenever I mix old school hardgroove techno, like the DJ Preach track (second in the mix), the Gonçalo M one (he is one of the master of the hardgroove wave from Portugal and Spain in the mid to late 2000s), the UK Gold track around 53:00 is a good example of that too. It often has tribal elements, or South-American music influences, usually big bass, very hot summer vibes.
Check out the old school Ben Sims mix to find proper hardgroove sets from the days
Now it has had a comeback and while some artists do proper hardgroove the way it was, it's mostly faster in the form, but still with the same kind of vibes, very funny, summer-ish stuff :)
