Not for long! Once Japan starts allowing masses of young foreigners into it's country to become citizens (to offset the declining domestic birthrates), Japanese society will end up like the West in no time. Nothing lasts forever sadly.
you can call it aesthetic, but in reality its the same as America. what I mean by that is nearly every home/apartment in Japan looks the way they do because it was the cheapest possible way for them, from building materials, to design, to size, its made super cheap and many of those buildings wont last 100 years

IMO, Japanese suburbs are the gold standard on how all suburbs should be designed Not an endless maze of houses where you have to drive to get anywhere meaningful, but like a small town within a larger city
One of just a few things East Block countries were doing right was designing 'settlements' around similar idea. A park would be built, then in said park just a few blocks of flats, and inside the park all the basic services, like a food store, chemist, medical practice and nursery, while a school would in a few minutes walking distance so people living there had no need to leave the are unless they worked elsewhere.
Understand, though, that Tokyo (along with most Japanese cities) were burned to ash during World War 2. Most cities in the world aren't forced to be rebuilt from the ground up but grow without planning. I'm not making a comment about the bombing of Japan, just pointing out that cities aren't generally "designed" at all. They grow over centuries.
