This is one of the best videos I have ever seen, of a plane coming out of the clouds... you can really get a sense of the tremendous speed of the aircraft... just awesome!!!
I love that you are one in few out of many who does bother NOT TALKING and spoiling the best bit! Those gorgeous engines and the sound of Angel's singing. Not really but I dont think that noise can be beaten.Thanx very much and well done that man!
Thank you for your kind words! Indeed, way too many videos are spoiled by taking, shaky camery work or cheesy music.. I try to make them as „calm“ and relaxing as possible.
What a wonderful video. Beautiful sound from those engines especially the sudden throttle down after flap retraction and then the reapplication of climb thrust.
The D-AIGL is named after my home town and the old girl is still flying around. I will miss the A-340 when it is gone soon. Except the -200 series I was flying all of them at least one time, but of course mostly the -300.
……ummm….. who would ever want anything but a window seat ( it’s a boy thing 😎) , thank you for sharing this with all of us who crave window seat with a view like this ….
That's a lot of buzzsaw noise, my ears need a break... stupid tinnitus! I love when the plane passes through the clouds and whizzes by them starting at 4:45, it shows just how incredibly fast you're plane is really moving when it hasn't reached its cruising speed yet!
Nice engine sound? it sounds like an old hair dryer. Especially compared to GE or Trent engines. But what is nice is this recording. Beautiful shots. What was your seat? Business or premium economy? Next week I will be on 340-300 again after so many years last time I was aboard on one. Wil go from Sin - Fra but it will be a night flight so I will not have a chance to experience something like this. Never mind I will enjoy this old bird in PE for 13,5 hours...
Hey Peter, I was sitting on 5K. Last row of the front business class compartment. Enjoy your flight in Lufthansa‘s Premium Eco then! :) Cheers and stay safe, mate!
@@FueltoNoiseGenerator the plane appears to be flying almost due north. i have never heard of commercial routes leaving north america for europe in the morning. i believe they always leave in the evening.
Those small cfm56 engines need to work really hard to get that a340 up to cruising altitude. Actually not the right engine for that heavy a340, especially when tanks are full of fuel for a long haul flight. The -600 got the better engines..
if this is a dawn take-off then the plane is flying nearly due north. i have never heard of commercial carriers leaving north america for europe in the mornings. they alway leave in the evening.
Goofy thought - If he's taking off into the dawn, why is the sun behind him..? Other goofy thought, if it was dawn, he'd have the sun off the nose, ergo it's sundown...
It sure is! Before I retired at Airbus, I was involved in the development of the A340 product line and boy-oh-boy did we make fun of -200 and -300 models of the A340. Whoever decided to use CFM56 engines on the thing was clearly drunk. The A340-500 and -600 is perfectly fine though, especially with the Rolls Royce Trent 500 engines.
4 hairdryers giving it their all! God I love the A340!
😂😂😂
Beautiful engine roar on the spot!
i love A340 planes i really love those 4 engines roaring while cruising above the clouds

Slow accent though.
Thanks a lot, Mat! Hopefully, I will capture some more beautiful aviation moments! Will keep on flying! ;)
Awesome video . Loved the shots above the clouds . Great footage of the sunrise too . Enjoyed that . Thank You.

Absolutely stunning. Love it ! Damn I like the A340, shame they’re being taken away :/
7:18 What a perfect view
Reached its top of climb somewhere around Belgium!
Haha, yeah maybe.. Initiated the descent shortly after ;)
Oh those lovely hairdryers!
What a wonderful video. Beautiful sound from those engines especially the sudden throttle down after flap retraction and then the reapplication of climb thrust.
Thank you! I've just uploaded another one. This time a narrow body, though ;) ua-cam.com/video/EP80cUZpLOU/v-deo.html
Wow, beautiful, crystal-clear flight, especially above the cloud deck!
Wow this is the best sight I have ever had the pleasure to watch on UA-cam

Yeah, that‘s true! With SWISS and Lufthansa you might have the chance to still catch one or the other A340 - even the A340-600! ;)
Cheers to Herne!
@@FueltoNoiseGenerator Yes, this is true. But I guess I will not sit in an A-340 anymore.

I totally agree! Sometimes I even check the heading of the flight and the position of the sun to choose the left or right side.. 🤷♂️😂
@4:42 - stunning!
I'm adding "taking off from 06L or 06R and be seated towards the gates" on my to-do list!
That was beautiful. Nice Vedieo. The view, engine sound, everything . Thanks
Love the roar!
That was just amazing. Well done, well done.

beautyfull video!
Unpainted panels on the engine mounts. Didn't they have any painted ones available?
Sounds just like an a320!
The A340-300 has CFM-56 engines like the A320. So they sound very similar.
Ça ç est un avion !!!!

Remember Your seat number?
That was shot from seat 5K. Last row of the forward compartment of the Business Class.
So jealous I am not on that flight!

You are absolutely right!
I changed the title - thanks for pointing that out!
7 years and 49k views and you are the first one mentioning that! 🤷♂️😅
How does an A340 go near Mach 1.01?
no..max speed is around 0.83 Mach ...many factors involves the plane reach a certain speed...weight,Tail wind .....
they reach 1000 km/h, if that what you got confused about.
khalilovH xD
Flavio Almeida the comment was a joke
were you heading East i believe ?
4100 rpm
Die Steigrate ist im Vergleich zu anderen Flugzeugen schon ziemlich schlecht, trotzdem schönes Flugzeug ✈ und gutes Video. :)
The best sound ever! But pathetic to take off.
5:00 the hell was that?

Such an under powered frame for it's size. Still a great sound.

Lots off engine noise.
And ? That's great!
Engines way to small
This is the smaller A340-300. Not the -600.
4:48 time rest for enginea running for 100%😅
