This place is so scary... The platforming reaches a level not previously exploited by the base game, and the region utilizes vanilla mechanics to the most powerful and unique extent it can. The region is much more than just levels!
I've eagerly watched the progress of Aether Ridge and waited in all the time that it took to release, and I have to say I was not disappointed one bit. The levels themselves reach an amount of detail sometimes beyond the vanilla game, and provide a lot of challenge in platforming that had me on edge constantly.
The one thing I did not really like was the amount of inaccessible pipes that tantalized me, though you could just use the vanilla theme of "this world was not made for you" to explain that.
Overall I feel like Aether Ridge had been given many things by vanilla, and chose to forward them in all the ways the base game couldn't have (because of it being too difficult for new players etc).
With there being so many rooms (200!!!!!) I could not get to everywhere in this video, so definitely try out the mod to see it all. - Ігри
This world is soooo vast…and there has Daddy Long Leg part.
21:24 Reminds of the time in co-op when I'm dragging my friend's body though the shaded citadel running desperately through the rain to the last shelter. It's this kind of moment that made this game so unforgettable to me.

Rain World mods are INSANE, most of the ones you've featured feel like they could just as easily be DLC.
And a year later, some of them are!
@@HenryMarkle-iq1jc YEP! oh and hey, great news, they're adding an official mod browser not just for pc but also for consoles along with the parity update/dlc!!! I can't tell you how excited I am to play this and other modded regions-- never thought I'd get the chance on PS4.

Well, we did get the Steam workshop and you can indeed manage your mods in game, so I'd say that is all true
Just got this game and it’s legit the most deeply layered game I have ever played. Despite the number of deaths the way you can get on top of an environment and even turn the tables on the predators is unbelievably satisfying.
I get why Turtle toad is still dropping videos years after its release, easily one of the best games I have ever played!

This region looks like it has an incredible story behind it
I saw in Lime’s video that there were creatures in cages in cold storage. Perhaps they were freezing them to test on them? Then you see the rot later on and Lime commented that they could’ve also tried this on a Daddy Long Legs/DLL, but it got out of hand and spread? Who knows!

What if one day we die, and live again as a slug cat in this type of world? You get to map ur surroundings with ur mind and the world would be limitless... The buildings you enter are... Unpredictable like how you first played this game...
I love custom regions so much. it impresses me that the Rain World community learned from their experiences in other regions and created their own custom regions. truly amazing

It seems Five Pebbles has kept things in working order.
Primary systems - such as those driving my servos - are cooled using free-flowing water to dissipate heat.
Unfortunately, this design does not accommodate the smaller bore pipes used in older systems.
These pipes would often freeze - slowing or disabling non-vital functions.
Salt water is extracted from the ground and distilled to create a lower density solution.
This solution is then mixed into our reservoirs to slightly lower the freezing point.

I have to agree with you, after playing this I was not disappointed at all. Some of the brine water sections were a bit frustrating (especially since wormgrass-like deaths are my least favorite way to die)
this is a _mod?_ snurtle's gotta be pulling pebbsi's leg here, this looks like something i'd see in the base game ngl. as usual, the guys over in the modding district never disappoint

Heyyaaa!! I just downloaded Aether Ridge and I'm currently playing it, but there's no threat music and there seems to be threat music in your playthrough. I was wondering if you did something specific to get that to work?
shame the mod ain't been ported to the workshop yet. One of, if not the most famous custom regions imo.
I saw this comment and wondered the same thing, seems it's becoming part of an official DLC now so that explains it
@@turtletoad7725 glad to see it being ported with the watcher dlc, I got into rain world a year or so before downpour and never got to play the region, looks pretty well made!

Hey, how do you go about confronting enemies? How do you know if you should run away or engage- and if you do the latter, when to back off or continue?
If an enemy is in an inopportune spot (such as above you or in a tight place where your chances of getting a spear stuck in a wall are high), I usually back off. If I do engage, I fight to the death unless I somehow lose all my spears. An exception to this is vultures, which I usually ignore entirely until they get close or are in a spot where they couldn't fly away easily.
@@turtletoad7725 I see, thank you. One of the best parts of this community is that even if the game is complete and won't be updated as you responded in your last video, the modding community is pretty dedicated from what I've seen.

If you have the custom regions mod installed and you saw a black screen, try reseting progress from the options menu

You can also try verifying integrity of game files and reinstalling the mod
