- At the center of "Blue Horizons" is Marina, a young girl whose vivid imagination sets the stage for an extravaganza of graceful dolphins, magnificent pilot whales and a rainbow of exotic birds. Marina daydreams that one day she can fly in the sky and swim in the ocean. After encountering Aurora - the spirit of the sky - and Delphis - the spirit of the sea - those dreams begin to come true, as together they explore a place where the sea meets the sky. "Blue Horizons" features action both above and under the water, as a cast of divers and aerialists, dressed in eye-catching costumes symbolizing sea and sky, plunge off the elaborate set into, and also propel out of, the deep blue water.

For all the people talking about the captivity of these animals read. Seaworld rescues its animals, dolphins, whales, sharks. They adopt them when they are sick or injured, they take care of them and then they perform.

I'm from Los Angeles California and I went to SeaWorld Orlando Florida in 2005 at age 7 and 2006 at age 8 just to see this dolphin show. I can't believe blue horizons is gone. It was an amazing show ever at SeaWorld.

You can't force several thousand pounds of dolphin to do anything. The animals enjoy learning the behaviors trainers teach them, otherwise they simply would ignore their trainers. Besides, trainers go through a ton of tough education and competition to get this job and get paid barely enough to live on to show for it, you think they go through all that to make animals suffer? All sea world trainers are completely dedicated to the wellfair of their animals.

Sammys__World i knkw this is an old comment, but one of the few non toxic ones on here. As a continual visitor to SeaWorld Orlando, I very much miss this version of the dolphin show. The new one seems a step back even though the change makes some sense, to showcase education over theatrics.
Jist doesnt execute as smoothly as the driving force.

Well for me it was better this way because I like to see the trainers swim with the dolphins because I like the music that they played when the show starts, like the song that starts at the beginning I like that song because it's performed by a beautiful singer and the beautiful young woman named Marina she was a beautiful trainer to perform and to swim with the dolphins because it's almost like she loves the dolphins with beauty and passion. But I still can't believe that they are not going to perform and swim with the dolphins anymore and it's just not fair people like to see the trainers swim with the dolphins because they like to see the show about performing, but I do really wish they would've still do these shows with the whales and dolphins.

Overall good show and music. They need to get some better divers as some of them are making big splashes and doing easy dives.

i have seen this in real life it was cool but this one is different then this
I remember seeing this show when I was 4, and now that I've been back the shows has gotten so downgraded and simplified that it's hardly worth watching. Dont get me wrong, these magnificent dolphins are truly incredible, but they don't do many tricks anymore as SeaWorld has made it out to be an educational show rather than entertainment. Quite sad if you ask me, that the younger generations will never get to experience these types of shows.

nestor siron San Diego's Blue Horizons is being replaced in August by the new Dolphin Days show they are alternating between currently! :( Besides Orlando's Blue Horizons came in 2005 I believe and San Diego's version came in 2010! So basically San Diego copied.

When I saw this show in person about a week ago, I thought most of it was kind of lame like the crappy Disney ripoffs made by GM Toons. But, the music was pretty fucking awesome and some points, which is why I'm here by the way.

A Dolphin in captivity is very unkind. Dolphins are mammals with feelings and emotions. They are self-aware, social, complex, and intelligent. Nursing mothers and babies are slaughtered with no mercy or they are stolen for a life of misery confined to small pools in aquariums. No wild animals are being eradicated like the dolphins are being slaughtered in Japan and other parts of the world. Watch THE COVE documentary to learn the TRUTH about Dolphins in captivity.
I just searched "Dolphins sea" wanting to see some dolphins in the wild, but instead found this. So sad.
So... I know the trainers can't swim with the orcas anymore.. Are they still able to swim with the dolphins these days? I feel sad for these animals though. They don't need to be in concrete pools for their lives, and always performing...

Sometimes but its kinda rare. They have the same rules for the poilet whales as they do for orcas. Cant go in the water with them anymore and they wear these weights so if they were to get pulled in thed come back up

If you call capturing a free, highly intelligent and highly social animal, then sticking it in a bath tub where it is forced to perform mindless tricks day in day out an education you really have no clue. These 'trainers' are simply performers if u want to get an education go to a museum, speak to a biologist, go online. But please don't label animal abuse as education.
These 'tanks' are gloried swimming pools full of chlorine and completely unatural. This circus act is highly stressful and not at all natural! If you want an example of what seaworld does, well today a polar bear died at 19 years due to stress of unnatural habitat and boredom, where in the freezing wild where they belong they they live 25-30 years. This only educates us how not to treat these beautiful creatures by exploiting them like they do!

Only the young and fit dolphins are taken for captivity. These are the future generations for these already vulnerable wild populations and their loss has a hugely negative impact on wild dolphin groups. Captive whale and dolphin shows are not education, or conservation; this captivity is only about making money.
There are many fantastic opportunities to see whales and dolphins in the wild both from land and with a responsible boat operator, so help end captivity and keep whales and dolphins wild by not attending to these shows. We have no right to put these amazing creatures in captivity.
