I can't wait for the next series 'great players of the future'
Go Ben. But then come back we need part three
I used to go camping from Lone Pine almost every year in the late 80's. Its right next to the Sierra Nevada and Mt. Whitney. Can't imagine how they even had enough hotel space to have a tournament there. Great place though.
For a moment, I thought this is an older lecture because Ben seems so young and fresh here. Great lecture, great energy, love it! Most of the stuff is probably too advanced for me but I will try to remember the famous rook h1 trick at least.
Thank you grandmaster ben finegold 🎉
Ben -- Maybe you can do a great Players of the past episode on Nona Gaprindashvili. She was tied with three others for top score at Lone Pine in 1977.
Somehow this didn't appear on my homepage. And then when I scrolled to Ben's channel I didn't see it either. I had to search for it by name! Raaaarrrw! That's my initial thought. Looking forward to it.
watched it all already done finished
So nice he made it twice
Hope this is as good as the first.
thank you so much🙏🙏🙏it's super duper cool
I suspect the story of Seirawan being mistaken for a girl is somewhat exaggerated. I lived in Seattle at the time he was just starting to become known as an up-and-coming chess player. We knew from news accounts that he was male. He sometimes played at the Last Exit (on Brooklyn) coffee house, and I'm sure everyone who played chess there knew him. I went there often but I don't remember ever seing him there. I expect he outgrew that venue fairly quickly.
When he started traveling to tournaments it is possible that a few players might have not heard of him, and been momentarily mistaken upon seeing him for the first time, but he became nationally known before long.
Yasser’s the best
Ben ....Howard Stern is a subscriber!
Anyone else else find Re5, feel all proud only to remember Yasser was basically a kid when he played this game?
A German player was watching the Fedorowicz game and said, "Hey your hat, it is a joke!" And Fedorowicz said, "Hey, stop making fun of my fedora!" To which the German player replied, "I can not stop laughing, it is a Fedorawitz!"
Your fedora wits are pretty on point!
Comment for the algo
why does ben keep wincing?
Could be some kind of health issue. Unless he discusses it, it shall be a mystery slash private concern.
