This was a great video. I hope you make a part 2, eventually. I get the feeling their are more women inventors that didn't get the recognition they deserved for awhile.
As a man, this is VARY sad that women have been ignored and not given the credit they deserve. This is a VARY interesting and educational video. Also there was a lady who invented putting lines on road, she literally went out one night and painted lines on roads that we see today, I also believe that she invented the pain to do this with too.
you really believe this nonsense? you may wanna do some research. i didn't care for most of this video, but hady lamarr for example didn't invent wireless communication. she didn't even invent frequency hopping. all she did was file a patent for this after some guy had the idea long before her, followed by another guy implementing the idea in practise. you are being lied to.
I believe that’s true but also that he was a ‘patent troll’. A large portion of his work was from his uncredited research team or from simply buying the patent. Like the light bulb. 💡
Top 100. He holds a lot of patents for inventions created by others. He got away with it because those people worked for him in his labs and their contracts stated that Edison gets credit for all of their work. Edison is credited for creating moving pictures, but the technology was created by others. After some time, they got tired of him raking in piles of money based on their work, took their equipment, and settled together in a small town on the west coast called Hollywood, CA.
I love female empowerment! I know people like to say feminism is Cancer but I disagree. Women have been oppressed for a long time ( and STILL are being oppressed!) , so seeing them being more and more appreciated is SO warming to me. ☮️✌🏾♀️
Honestly, I would have to agree. It makes a lot more sense that a woman would've invented the modern bra as a les bulky and more comfortable alternative to a corset
Cecilia Payne Gaposchkin first person to discover what the universe was made of. She was denined her degree her doctorate her professorship. She was promoted to full professor in the 1950s after working in the field since the 1920s
Excellent. Did you know Rear Admiral Grace Hopper also coined the phrase "Bug in the System"? The US navy has a ship named for her, USS Hopper DDG-70, and this was the first USN ship to be built from the keel up to have co-ed quarters.
Good and helpful info thx👍, also if there any other inventions that were made by women but were ignored because of their gender, will DEFINITELY be hoping for an eventual part 2 please 🤞🙏
Thank you for the update, MsMojo..!! My respect to all women in the world. Respecting women is essential for creating a society that values and promotes equality, dignity, and human rights. Women have historically faced discrimination and marginalization in many areas of life, and that should no longer occur. Respecting women is not only the right thing to do; it's crucial for building a just and equitable world for all.
It's things like this that have made young girls in prior decades believe somehow they're not as good at math, or "can't understand" complex ideas and functions like electronics, mechanics, physics, etc., when all along they've been every bit as capable and have at times surpassed men in such scientific realms. Who knows what other brilliance on the part of women has been covered up in what has been for too long a patriarchal society. In the '70s, my parents wanted me to be a teacher; I wanted to be an architect. And that's just one example of ignoring the ability of women to contribute on an equal level with men.
What i love about this list is most of the women listed would be classed as 'lookers' showing that smart women aren't the dowdy geeks shown in most entertainment media.
Sorry if i'm a little late, but what's a great top this was. Have a happy friday morning, Rebecca, take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well.
There was even a movie made about the underdog inventor of the windshield wiper and his fight against the Ford company. Just an extra smack against Mary Anderson.
I will be honest, as much as I love Old Hollywood films, I have barely seen any with Hedy Lamarr in them. But I work remotely from home via the Internet and am unable to get around very much so my social contacts and entertainments are on the Internet. So Hedy in my eyes was more important as an inventor than as an actress.
Mary Anderson, inventor of the windshield wiper. It had to have been a woman, because before that men were going "Don't be silly dear, I can see perfectly well!"
Woman could not fight in ww2, so this is irrelevant, and woman did contribute to ww2 as nurses, driving ambulances, flying air crafts and general work.
