Just discovered this group ( Aug 2024 )...may sound strange but it reminds of after I first listened to REM when they first started getting airtime...Radio Free Europe...( yes I am older but I know greatness when I hear it ). They remind me of early REM because there is something magical and deeply moving about their music. They have a consistency of tone, emotion and an enrancing vibe that cannot be put into words. They sometimes push the edges but not so far they lose their core selves. The first word that came to mind the first time I heard them was " poignant ". So happy I discovered them.
@@melanieisdead1271 You do realize some grunge was shoegazey/dream poppy right? Look at shit like Today by the smashing pumpkins for example. Sounds very similar to this song.
I honestly never thought I'd ever hear any new bands with this kind of sound ever again and have it still sound fresh. Wow. So good. Please never stop making music.
Lyric: I hate that sound They've all been used by now My doubt's too loud But it's beauty I turned down I kept on holding out for the downside Before I knew why I don't think I can win my pride on time I'm losing all the while I'm losing all the while I'll keep you out My body knows me now I'll try to be without Sleep on your shoulder for now I'll keep on holding out for the downside Before I knew why I don't think I can win your side on time I'm losing all the while I'm losing all the while
This song reminds me of "Milk Ocean" (1997) by a Canadian band called The Gandharvas, and as other listeners mentioned a bit of Weezer's "Undone." In any case, it is awesome to hear Slow Pulp and other bands in recent years nod to and be inspired by the alternative scene of the 90s!
I really love this tune, so I checked out the references above. I want to believe. But Weezer and Gandharvas? TF?! Ready? You sing lead, I'll sing backing vox... 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3... "I'm losin' all the while... oh oh I'm losin' all the while... oh oh"
Come on...this is 2020! These graphics look like something from the early 90's. When iTunes can produce better psycho-graphics than this...just come on people!
