Good to see the kids are keeping the 90s alive. My shoegaze band was never this cool.
Yes it was... You just never noticed ;)
I'm sure it was
Yes it was Joel.
If you are talking about the band Mansfield in your channel well its sounds pretty good :)
that brooklyn sound
The drummer's backing vocals are amazing
The girl and the drummer's voices blend together so beautifully, jesus
Always been a huge fan of drummers with BVs

This album was my hyperfixation for the first part of 2023 but this performance is abt to make me listen to it multiple times every day again. SO GOOD
Just discovered them, they got my feeling since March 11, 2020. But we're gonna be ok and that's ALL OF US!
I learn about more bands from these KEXP performances than anywhere else.
This is a damn fact. Have a great day Matt.
yeah. i pretty much found failure, tiny moving parts, TTNG and slow pulp here. best found ever
Almost 80% of the bands I listen to nowdays I either discovered on these KEXP sessions, or I found out later that they had a session in KEXP and I just didn't know yet.
that's because KEXP gets it !!
Best random click of the week.
+1 same thing =)))
dude! same thing! glad i clicked it!
I'm not alone in the world!
yes
same here haha

LYRICS
Idaho
[Verse 1]
I hate that sound
They've all been used by now
My doubt's too loud
But it's beauty I turned down
[Pre-Chorus]
I kept on holding out for the downside
Before I knew why
I don't think I can win my pride on time
[Chorus]
I'm losing all the while
I'm losing all the while
[Verse 2]
I'll keep you out
My body knows me now
I'll try to be without
Sleep on your shoulder for now
[Pre-Chorus]
I'll keep on holding out for the downside
Before I knew why
I don't think I can win your side on time
[Chorus]
I'm losing all the while
I'm losing all the while
Falling Apart
Looking at the TV
Thinking that you're dreaming
I don’t think you know
How to handle
You have got to step up
Show that you can be enough
Make it okay
It's hard to swallow
[Chorus]
Why don’t you go back
To falling apart
You were so good at that
You're one in a million now
You don’t want to take the time
You just need to seem alright
[Verse 2]
Feeling like a deadbeat
Everything is incomplete
I don’t think you know
What it takes for
Looking at the feeling
I know that you’re missing
Take it away
I've got to let go
[Chorus]
Why don’t you go back
To falling apart
You were so good at that
You're one in a million now
You don’t wanna take the time
You just got to be alright
Why don’t you go back
To falling apart
You were so good at that
You're one in a million now
You don’t wanna take the time
You just got to be alright
Track
You wait for a spot on the track again
You're painted like an old pearl strand
Feeling old ways
Call it gone days
And I love the crossing lines on your face
Hope you feel the same
You’re a nice day
A forgotten place
Away
Do you recall my name
It’s okay I’ll stay
Love you the same
I'll try to salt the fruit like you did
But it doesn't fit
In a lost state
Not a mistake
Today
I will recall your name
I see you in my face
Love you always
A lot has changed
Always
So much has stayed
Today
I will recall your name
I see you in my face
I will recall your name
I see you in my face
Love you always
Love you always
Love you always
Trade It
I know now
I’m not all that you wanted
You’ll fool yourself
I’ll take back all that you gutted
I’m almost out
Unlearning but it’s not worth it
And I’ll fall back down
Try to feel something much different
For it’s honest
I’m all I’ve had
I’m coming to take it back
Trade it back for it
Trade it back for
Did you taste it again
The metal I think it’s subsiding
My mouth’s at its end
Trying to say it’s love that I’m hiding
For it’s honest
I’m all I had
I’m coming to take it back
Trade it back for it
Trade it back for
(For)
It’s all that I’m asking
(For)
It’s all that I’m asking
(For)
It’s all that I’m asking
For it’s honest
I’m all I had
I’m coming to take it back
(It’s all that I’m asking)
Trade it back for it
(It’s all that I’m asking)
Trade it back for
Montana
I’m a bad mess
I’m a loner with no plans
Go back home
Try again
Again
I don’t wanna be a backwards man
Come on get out of my head
Head
Head
I’m a contest
I’m a loser with no chance
Hold my hand
Again
Again
I don’t wanna be a backwards man
Come on get out of my head
Head
Head
Head
Head
Head
Head
Head
Thank you 💛
Very much
Thanks.
Seeing the lyrics was very helpful 😊

The drummer, who's also singing the harmonies, is an essential ingredient in this band.
True
teddy is my hero
This is the quintessential way to listen to these 5 tracks. If they did a live video version like this for every song they have, I would lose my fucking mind
KEXP sound engineer(s) are the very best in the biz. I'm blown away every time, even listen to bands I don't like just to hear the mixing.
Apparently the engineer is one of the band members too that’s badass
@@dretly I don't think the engineer on this performance is one of the band members. As a matter of fact, I am both a professional engineer and musician, and I can assure you : you have to choose one of those things to do live...! In the studio, of course, that's another story, but you can't make a live mix AND also be the player at the same time - I mean, you can wing it, but nowhere near this level. Engineering is very specific to a situation : a broadcast engineer isn't doing the same job as a studio mixing engineer who isn't doing the same job as a mastering engineer and so on... This is stellar work from KEXP's engineer.
To be more specific, since they are performing in their own studio, part of the engineering is done there (mic placement and so on), but the mix was done by the broadcasting engineer :)
Yes, best broadcast ones for sure. Also the lovely dude recording every Tiny Desk concerts is legendary!
Jas Bataille yeah you’re most likely right haha I was just regurgitating what I read in another comment
Kudos to the sound engineer, great mix! Enjoyed the band, too.
Just looked the Engineer's name up, turns out it's one of the bands members!
@@philipbrooks This happens to be the case on a lot of KEXP sessions I listen to ! Maybe that's why so many of their live sessions have an incredibly good mix ?
That snare sound...
@@TheTourtopoulais on all the recent ones probably because they are sending the sessions in from home.
@@psychosem17 yes but for example King Gizzard had all their sessions mixed by Stu, the lead singer, so I wonder if it's not common practice at KEXP

This set has become by go to thing to play while I'm working from home. I've probably played it over 50 times! Love them.
This sounds ridiculously good
This band is so fkn good. I'd hope there was more interviews, I love to see how humble and cool they are. You can hear it in the music but the interviews confirm it.
I've seen a lot of KEXPS, this was the first one and THIS is the BEST ONE.
Shoegaze was never this good.
This is the best sounding live video I've heard in forever omfg
god bless KEXP
THIS is the kind of music I'm waiting for my entire life, I don't want my 90s back (maybe?), I just need things like this!
I’m so glad that Slow Pulp is getting more recognition :)
I'm listening to this performance in loop 8 hours a day because it helps me concentrate on studying.
Tomorrow I've got the exam, and if I pass it I'm buying your Album ❤️
edit: Got it!
Congrats ❤
I searched for the 90s band 'Pulp' ... found this ... wasn't disappointed.
“Falling Apart” will forever break my heart ❤️
the musicianship in this band is off the charts.
Dude's lead guitar sounds so great. Also I have a huge crush on this singer haa. Great band all around. Current fav!
So 90's. I feel like I'm back on high school.
You shouldn't be *on* the high school. The principal will get mad. Get inside, instead.
Get off the roof ya dang hippy jackwagon!
Sincerely,
The prinicpal
lol! I mean in high school. haha
im high on school
i feell like i'm high at school ! (in the 90's)
I heard this band in a coffee shop last weekend, and have been playing this album on repeat since. Such a great find!
Their performance of "Idaho" here beats the one on their LP, IMHO. It's one of a handful of songs that I loved even before the first lyric was sung.

Will see them this evening. They are the support act for Death Cat for Cutie.
They express their own originality wonderfully. Also their music makes me feel happy.
This mix is on point, dang. Sounding great.

Pretty sure at least half the views of this by now are from me. This is outstanding. Can’t wait to be able to stand in a crowded room and see Slow Pulp play these songs live.
Truth
I'd be so happy to see them live in a crowded living room
Pretty sure they're mine 🙄🙄
Tasteful and slick AF fill from this god damn rock-solid drummer at 14:07. You've been holding it down for 14 minutes, you get your time to shine my dude.
Perfect rainy day music. Warm tones, a little melancholy. It's awesome.
"today is the greatest day i ever had"
This band is gonna be huge!!
I was lucky enough to see Slow Pulp open up for Post Animal in Chicago a couple years ago. Now they are one of my favorite bands. What a fantastic performance!
I’ve found them like 2 months on Spotify, and they instantly became one of my fav bands.
God, so glad I clicked on this.
This is purely amazing. I cannot stop listening to this session. This band is superb. Wish they visit Poland one day.
Definitely 90s retro dream pop! Love it!
Chills down my legs, you guys have that beautiful connection as a band that strikes as perfection in my soul @slowpulp ✨️ 🧡💫
I miss the 90s. Remember it was the last era before cellphones. After then, everything changed so much
Just absolutely love everything about this... Immaculate groove, great harmonies, classic percussion, awesome guitar playing, wrenching melodies. Gives me the feels, man. Discovered Slow Pulp from this session and have gone on to adore everything they've done prior to Moveys. What a great record!
Normally good music needs to be shared, but I am keeping this one to myself!!
Blown away by the production on this. I just got lost in it. Beautiful performance all around. These songs made me feel young again, feeling a sort of melancholy for being a little too self aware of one's innocence, a sort of weird longing to feel old and long to feel young again feeling. When you are fifteen and imagining the endless possibilities of life before you, but feel a bit tired by that, too.
That's very beautifully put.
wow.. yeah exactly
Loved this record. Great live performance.
I love so much the sound of this band, and this live session love it much better than their recorded versions of the songs, love it so much, I've listen to it all week long!
i love slow pulp so much
This is soo good! Definitely digging this music
Super cute performance!!! Love it!
So grateful to discover slow pulp, they make my life better
i've been here for 1 and half month now. their music is really great.
saw them live a couple months ago, they're absolutely phenomenal! fun & friendly group

Whoever mixed this did a phenomenal job.

Literally listened to this set 3 times in a row. Takes me back to the good ole Empire Records Days.

This was one of the most wonderful performances that i've ever heard. So glad i found these people.
The bass and drums sound amazing! Fantastic mix guys!
Love it. There is some power there. Ready for the all hell to break loose jam session
Such a fantastic warm sounding band, glad my 2021 is starting with good music. Engineers and cameramen did great work, excited for future presentations from this group.
This is beautiful! 🔥❤
this mix and musicianship !!!!
I was gonna say that I heard these guys when I was in college, but then I realized they likely weren't born yet.
You guys have sure come along way in a short time. I think this is the best you've ever sounded.
Amazing! Love these guys!

This band is dope, but the credit for the mix needs to be heavily complimented. Radical.
for sure, KEXP sound engineers are always on point. assuming they also do this "at home" series
