    Hi I'm not attending interview for an advanced nurse practitioner role but rather a mental health practitioner role (band 6) however they do expect a degree of specialisation according to the job specification. Do you think focusing on complex comorbidity in mental health might be an avenue for me to explore for interview as this is my area of interest & where I excel? Eg autism & ADHD, bipolar & substance misuse etc. I want to fit the generic criteria but also want to stand out as well as I have a prior degree in English & philosophy I believe there is 'extra' bits I can bring in that will make my interview a bit more unique & enable me to stand out. I have had research published as an undergraduate on eating disorders; as much as it doesn't pertain to the MH practitioner role specifically would it be worth mentioning in terms of ensuring quality of care etc? Could you recommend any reading for a generic young persons MH practitioner role in terms of policies & so forth? I'd greatly appreciate it. I know the Thrive framework is a big one at the moment. I really struggle with generic questions as I'm not always sure what they're getting at/miss out the most obvious! The Trust values for the role are the 6 Cs: when being asked about what I think the most important values are can I draw upon the Trusts but my own philosophy as well? I don't want to be subversive but equally I don't want to give a 'bog standard' answer that anyone could conjure up, I want to stand out. I'd like to add innovation to list as well for example but support this with evidence ie how it ties back to competence. Thanks for your help.

      @@Tified967 I hope your interview goes well. You'll be led by the interviewers and yes you can bring up examples to give depth to your answers and stand out. It's great you have these areas of interests and you definitely should bring up your publication. Well done for publishing! A few links below for national guidance/ standards:

    Since my management placement during my undergrad nursing degree I came across an ACP and it made me realise that’s where I want to be. I’ve seen the apprenticeship and degree options. The apprenticeship is ED based. Do you know if that means the whole 3 years is working in ED or other places as well? It’s making me nervous because shied away from ED as a student and wish I had gained an insight experience into ED

    • @carolforde-johnston
      @carolforde-johnston  11 місяців тому +1

      Great question, and I wish you well with your career plans. Usually ACP/ANP apprenticeships are based in the area being advertised locally. Although you may be able to arrange shadowing opportunities in related areas, this would usually need to be discussed and agreed locally. The local area will be funding your study days. I would talk to whoever the lead is for the advert for details on any apprenticeship being offered as it is different across employers. I hope that this helps.
