    I k kw this video is a year old, but if you throw the bearings in the freezer overnight, your bearings will slide in nice & easy.

    Does anyone know if the head tube was different on the 1992-1999 CB750's? Have a set of CBR 929/954 forks complete with triple clamps and need a stem to suit the frame or even a whole new set of triple clams and stem? Hope someone can shed some light or even Cognito Moto can? cheers

    Curious what’s the point of the top seal when 1/4 of the bearing is above the neck? It’s not actually sealing like the lower is. I’m asking because my cb360 upper bearing looks the same lol.

      Correct, we are kind of limited on bearings and that is as good as we can get.

    But how do you get a signal or cable to the speedometer after a conversion like that? It's the only thing I can't figure out and I really want to make the same conversion on my bike

    Is it possible to reuse the stock front rim after a fork swap?

    • @CognitoMotoTV
      @CognitoMotoTV  10 місяців тому

      you can but you would need the hub we offer that allows you to put a laced wheel on the new fork.

    Why don't you work on the Royal Enfield interceptor 650, similar to your Gixxer fork swaps and headlight mods...?? If you do so, Cognito will be exposing to the mass Indian market with your'premium toch' products, As you know RE650 having wobble issues. Quite frankly speaking, I would like to see similar Yamaha XS style build based on RE twin.

    I’m curious…..why do so many cafe racer builds/rebuilds I see use the GSXR forks in place of the OEM? I have a 2013 Moto Guzzi v7 Racer and am in the midst of a rebuild now but am already thinking about what I might do next and changing the suspension (front and rear), along with another exhaust mod (first went from stock to Mistral but still the same length as OEM). Doing research on suspensions and I keep seeing GSXR forks being used but no one really stating why…..soooo,thought I’d ask you guys. Thanks!

      did you ever find out why? my bike came with aftermarket front forks and i was interested in changing them but idk if it would be worth it because they are already aftermarket

    • @devincalhoun3792
      @devincalhoun3792 9 місяців тому

      @@ukariah No, never had a reply as to why. When I get a few minutes here and there I do some research on the web and so far what I have seen is that they are just a nice upgrade over most OEM forks and especially cafe racers where you're typically working from a base motorcycle that's not as sporty. However, I've also seen quite a number of articles talking about suspension upgrades in general for cafe racers and the consensus seems to be that unless you are really going to be pushing your bike when you ride (performance wise), you may not really notice the difference unless your current suspension is just totally shot/worn out. Not sure if any of that helps but hopefully does even a little.

      @@devincalhoun3792 i knew they would improve handeling but why gsxr? i found a zx6r front end for sale for cheap but i already have SHOWA front forks i doubt they would be better. I think it could be that GSXR didnt use inverted forks for awhile and that could be easier to install on a bike that was made before inverted forks but idk

    • @devincalhoun3792
      @devincalhoun3792 9 місяців тому +1

      @@ukariah I think you're right about SHOWA vs GSXR and sounds reasonable regarding the inverted forks. I'm still learning as I go but sharing like this helps a tremendous amount.....we can all learn from each other. If I find out anything else, or get a response to my original post, I'll definitely share it with you. Good luck on your build.

      @@devincalhoun3792 i think potentially the biggest reason is price, i havent looked into it but i can imagine if everyone is doing gixxer front ends they cant be expensive, it might just be the cheapest way to get modern suspension on a 40yr old bike
