Welcome to my channel! In today's video, I'm excited to share my detailed review of the **ZoHD Mini FPV Fixed Wing Drone**.
This compact and lightweight drone weighs in at under 250 grams, making it an ideal choice for those looking to enjoy flying without the need for a drone license (Part 107 or RPAS).
In this video, I'll walk you through the entire setup process, including:
Why I chose the *Spektrum AR636 gyro* from Horizon Hobby's Aeroscout for optimal flight stability.
Selecting the right battery for performance-I'll be using a *1300mAh 11.1V 3S LiPo battery* for this review.
Finding the perfect *center of gravity (CG)* to ensure smooth and controlled flights.
Join me as I take the ZoHD Mini FPV to the field for its **maiden test flight**. You'll see how this beginner-friendly drone performs in real-world conditions, along with tips on flying and handling it like a pro!

Good catch 👏
Thanks! It’s a pretty stable plane, easy to line up
sick, this looks really cool i might add a elrs receiver
Yeah an ELRS setup would be amazing in this. I’m just using a fairly short range spektrum TX and I think my VTX is only 1000mw (analog 5.8ghz), so I can’t really go further than like 600-700ft away before signal gets bad
@@fortkickass7532 sounds like you need better goggles or better antennas as I can go 2km with 800mw and a cheap 80$ goggles, but also ELRS is the only radio I have
I got one recently. I ended up tearing it apart and using the parts to make my own.
It's too small and cramped to keep the CG far enough back.
Yeah the CG is tricky to get right without adding weights on the tail (tape a coin or two on the tail). I have my 1300mah 3s battery as far back as possible, and it still is a bit nose heavy
Cramped as well…very hard to get a standard sized VTX inside it
@@fortkickass7532 I am using a Flysky i6 RX which is gigantic for that little space. It really made everything else awkward.
Also, installed my gyro backwards (FMS Reflex v3) and that caused a crashed.
Oh no! I did that on an F-22 and FX-79 buffalo….it sucked
I guess you are over 250 g with that battery?
I’m not sure actually. I’ll see if I still have a scale and weigh it, and let you know
So, was it worth it?
Yeah, it definitely is! After this flight I dropped in an FPV setup, that will be next episode
