The shorter sleeves definitely read younger-it looks like a young girl's dress from the 1890s, but with a full length woman's skirt. It's a very unique look, but I actually like it!

I'm really liking the longer sewing video. To some people it's maybe not as satisfying as a short on Instagram but as a sewist myself I very much enjoy it to see the process 😊

It's very cute! The lace was a "happy accident" in my opinion. It's not a "bad" project, I hope it grows on you.

I think it came out really cute!
My sewing teacher always insists on us ironing our whole piece of fabric before cutting anything. It might be annoying, but it gives you a chance to check for imperfections.

I love the alterations at the end. It turned out really well. I know the feeling of being bummed at a project and just power though finishing it.

I've just discovered you - talk about a happy accident! When you realized you had only cut one sleeve.... I felt that in my soul. Haha. It turned out beautifully!

Love longer videos, and will watch again soon, so much interesting detail to take in. I can’t imagine how much work it must be making one! I like the lace trim and it can always be swapped out for a different trim in the future, so it’s a very adaptable outfit. That skirt shape is gorgeous on you!

I adore this project! I am a big Studio Ghibli fan, and I was recently gifted a copy of the "Howl's Moving Castle"book. ✨ This looks magical!

I understand that the lace is a big contrast, but I think that you might be able to dye it to a shade that matches/complements the skirt and that would be lovely.

I love your mushroom sweater. I have had that same thing happen where I made a skirt with a line down the middle where it was faded on the fold of the fabric and didn't realize it until the end😝. I love your solution to the problem-- it came out great!

The dress turned out beautiful! And it really suits you.
I have a similiar dye uneveness on a finished skirt and I am planning to use a fabric marker to see if I can colour correct that line.

So happy to see you on UA-cam again!🤩 I follow you on instagram and have been looking forward to seeing you on sewing projects. I’m a “mini” seamstress myself but very in the beginning stage. I learn from other seamstresses on UA-cam so keep it going please😃 your work is amazing! I dress mostly historical myself and love your outfits😍 thank you so much for the tip on the corset from what Katie did btw, ordered it straight away and it fits LIKE A GLOWE😄👏🏻

I’ve been stuck on making a Truly Victorian trumpet skirt for a while now, something about what layer to add the ruffle to on the bottom… it wasn’t clear in the instructions and it became a UFO. This video made me think I can probably pick it up again and figure it out finally… once I finish my current historical project of course 😅

Just as I was wondering how you hadn't had any little paws stepping on your drawing yet, that's when your hand got a headbutt 😂

How frustrating about the front skirt panel! It still turned out lovely though, I think it still reads as Sophie inspired at least.
    Well done!

Does anyone know how sophie wore it while she was doing that deep cleaning?
I can't figure it out for the life of me.
Was it a different article of clothing entirely?
