Reported someone, video proof, contacted admins, got a bot response and thread locked. Meanwhile I said IP once and got banned for 180 days.

Well, the admins do an absolutely abhorrent job at doing so. Some people scammed 10s of billions without getting caught to this day, so youtubers have to sign in to actually get them banned because if you /report someone for scamming, *literally nothing* will happen because none of admins give a shit
Maybe if scamming was something that would actually get you banned, less people would do it. Literally none takes scamming reports serious.
Maybe if people where more careful about who they let into their co-ops and did trades with they would be less vulnerable to being scammed. I have never been scammed for more than 1 million because i always put in due diligence with anything of any value.

Yes of course, and it should be followed per suit that the admins will ban the scammers but in many cases it is very difficult to prove that something was a scam, and in most cases it was just a point of horrible judgement. Hense why it is so prevalent. In my opinion kids getting scammed in video games is so important for society because it adds a layer of understanding to the world for when they grow up into the world, and are prepared for scams of REAL WORLD money. @@_Arout

What you're saying is highly ignorant, and I think that if the admins did their jobs more efficiently, scamming incidents would go down or at least be dealt with far, far more. Even people that have thought of themselves as smart, or even had a master's degree, have gotten scammed before.
We should have respect for those who have been scammed, rather than saying "I've never been scammed myself. They must be stupid.". Falling victim to a scam does not reflect ones' intelligence.
Of course, ones tendency to trust someone tends to lead them towards being scammed that doesn't link to intelligence that is not what im saying. The more time passes the more it's beginning to seem that Hypixel is more focused on miliking as much money as possible from slyblock before it dies out instead of actually working on fixing all these underlying issues.
The reasons these are never going to be fixed are:
1. There are not enough scams happening at any given time to affect the economy or playerbase in any significant way
2. There are enough scams happening that it would be a massive investment of time to try and figure out what happened. It can take days or weeks to figure out a singular scam like this one.
It is ridiculous to ask scams to be bannable. Its just not possible

Yeah. The other day someone told me to overdose on… I am too afraid to say what they told me to do aloud. They also said “IPs” which had gotten people permabanned before for whatever reason. Guess what? They didn’t get banned. Ah yes, cyber bullying, threats and acts strictly against watchdog’s messed up coding don’t get someone even MUTED, yet calling someone mentally challenged in a relatively acceptable circumstance is bannable.

Yeah the sad thing is hypixel’s staff team does Jack squat, not to mention they got rid of all the mods and helpers who would have been Extremely helpful in situations like these. I’ve had friends get banned and didn’t know why they appeal and get back one word answers for why they’re banned. It’s crazy, glad I’m done with skyblock the game is hostile to legitimate gameplay and to investing because hypixel doesn’t deal with its scammer and ratter problems. They seem to cater to the nerds community and ignore everyone else.
Its normal, Hypixel Staff usually destroy the server, and make players quit the server,
Instead of working on anticheat systems or mute and ban scammers in skyblock or in lobbies where they tell the victim that they will give him a rank and ask him for some microsoft details to steal his account
(Note: I'm not talking about all the staff, most of them are good, but some of them are damaging the server)

Just to clear this up cuz it annoyed me: YT ranks always get perma banned, not matter what they did. It's because they need to contact creator support and most of the time instead of getting a ban they just get their rank removed, or they would lose it and get a reduced punishment.
That is untrue. UA-cam ranks are known to have much more leniancy, and bigger chance for a reappeal to work :)

To be honest, I'm kind of understanding Hypixel here.
Doing that basically undermines their entire moderation. The fact that you consider that it "had to be done" SHOWS that their staff isn't doing enough. (Whether ,or not they are isn't the question, what matters is the image it shows).
Moreover, there is a rule about "no public shaming", and that's also something that is punished, at least on the forums.
But well, to be honest, I knew the moderation would worsen on the day they decided to not use volunteers.

I first hand can confirm this bug 11:13 as it happened to me first hand. I had an old coop member who got ratted, the ratter kicked all inactive members and when I tried to salvage the ex coop members, I wasn't able to salvage anything at all.

i've been permabanned off of hypixel since 2016 because of that buggy watchdog detection stuff they had, i had an autoclicker but never used it. my main gripe with this whole ordeal is that i got instantly permabanned with no previous bans on my account. tried appealing and it got instantly blocked by a mod that didn't exist months after my appeal. so yeah ever since then i never got to play on hypixel ever again, even tried emailing their support and they responded with vague unhelpful responses just to get me to stop trying to appeal. but when real hackers use cheats nonstop they get banned and unbanned everyday with no permabans in sight. agh.

kinda feel you - one time my friend got banned 4 one month and wiped, and I recently got scammed out of 220m from a coop leech- his user is “Mtxo” and I tried getting him banned, but couldn’t report him verbally harassing me even though I had video evidence, and there was no where else to report bc the admins would just ignore me 😢 I kno 220m not that much but yeah, I’m broke, and this whole thing probably wiped 3 months of progress :sad:

I find it so funny that hypixle won’t do anything to protect their server against scammers but when another person literally does their job for them and the person that is doing that not only helps the player who got scammed but helps all of hypixle and gets banned? Hypixle I am genuinely disappointed in you to do that and on top of that forcing YT ranks to a higher standard than they want even if they are helping out the entire community. So that’s why I am quitting hypixle since of this outrageous unneeded act because of a bug either hypixle won’t fix or a the expectations are of being a YT rank and hypixle not doing their job. If hypixle sees this take no offense because I feel the entire community sees this and there is nothing they can do about it. In collusion I would have kind of like shifts to where one admin from your team would go online and go to the reports or discord messages to see who is getting scammed. I don’t expect you to ban everyone who scams but at least ban the most scammers you can to give back to the community.

Cooperations like Hypixel and Steam are so annoying with customer support. They can almost never help, and if they do, it requires you to do 99% of the work. Most of the time they never hear you out if you have an issue and you want to stop using them, but can't.

This ban makes complete sense lmao, you did something stupid over and over and got caught and now your banned. Even if trying to get players their coins back is something you support on a moral level, it's a no brainer that hypixel cannot allow you to abuse the status that goes along with youtube rank to fearmonger kids into giving you their skyblock coins (guilty or not).

I have seen hypixel youtube ranks (espicially in the pvp community) that swear a lot and are pretty toxic. So I'd like to see why hypixel doesn't care about them. I'd like to see why hypixel cares so much about what a youtuber says when you try to play bedwars but some people are just there to talk trash.

This exact scam happened to me but I lost my entire island due to them blowing it up and lost a double chest of stock of stonks on Christmas ~2 years ago I still only have 800m nw and the guy made me wait 3 months to kick him out

i got perma banned for suspicous activity on my when i was litterally buying the booster cookies with irl money and selling them on bazaar because i lost my account from lockdown and wanted to get back to where i was
Plot twist: Sliced__ salvaged it and transferd it out, it wouldn't have gone to the bank and fogoose wouldn't be able to salvage what already has been salvaged. Sliced__ could have stolen it all and blamed it on sikrata and left with his hands clean.
honestly I just don't go near the server, they've shown they don't give two shits about the lower-class members. I've had my account broken into before where they cheated on bedwars, which got my 2 year old skyblock save deleted. I've proven to them that I was compromised, which only got me a "damn bro, should have protected your account." and a still deleted skyblock save. So I promised myself to never spend another second on that server, 3 years and counting.
I will never understand what Hypixel is thinking here. The players, such as *you* wouldn't have to confront scammers and mass report them if they would do their job!
Pensul (the admin) has been involved in shady stuff with irl trading in the Hypixel Pit (and probably sb). There’s certainly some level of corruption here.

I’m gonna say I understand both sides. They did raise their points of it being an inconvenience for their moderation team, which we can’t confirm without actually having inside experience. I also understand that they do not want youtuber ranks to call people such stuff out of the blue, even though what you say about instagram reel comments is true. I can understand them taking action, however that would be in order to help you see what you did wrong because despite what my comment has already said, I don’t think you had any bad intentions with anything, and simply wanted to help a scamming victim out with I respect you for. A permaban is definitely not warranted for that, but I believe they just made it permanent so you’d have to communicate with them directly. I’m glad things got sorted out, best of luck!!

they should still focus their efforts on more problematic people but again, bad at their job.

now knowing this information and acting on it are the difference between posers and the genuine. and my friend i am a poser. for i often let frustration take over and can call people names. but atleast i still know that no matter the context i was still in the wrong to do it.

This whole situation arises because Hypixel admins are not engaged with community, don't try and help players who feel like they have been scammed, and are overall completely useless. If they did their job, players could approach admins with this evidence, rather than delegating to YT ranks. Pensul is quite right here, it is NOT your job, but what he fails to mention is that the admins fail everyone by never sorting these issues, leaving YT rank as the next option for players. yeah i lost a few bil in items because i got ratted and got my friends to kick me from the coop so i can keep my stuff just for them not to be able to claim it. sad how a server as big as hypixel has bigger things to worry about than gamebreaking bugs
gamebreaking bugs happen in every game, it's just that hypixel admins are too lazy to give your items back so they just straight up tell you that you won't get the items back unless you're a youtuber
