In this video, we investigate some scams that happened to my guild members in hypixel skyblock.
These skyblock scams had aspects that were very devious. I thought i would make a video as a warning and for entertainment! Enjoy!

As a person with little siblings, trust me these little devils can get into your account concernignly easily, especially if you use a password manager or save your passwords
The fact that Troy did not think to get onto Burt for what he did is a clear indication that he was involved in the scam. You can't make up for taking all of someone's possessions for giving them back their house at the end. If he truly was innocent he would've got his "little brother" to give back the entirety.

This is like the old Garry's Mod trick, ask a player to type 'quit smoking' in console and when entered it registers command 'quit' to instantly close the program.
Before running unfamiliar commands people tell you to run, verify you know exactly how every character in that string is affecting the command and how excess text is managed.

Excess text really should just cause an error in my opinion, official Minecraft commands don’t allow excess text (right? Not quite sure) snd neither should custom commands, especially on a big server like Hypixel
For 6 years ago when I was playing on Star Wars minecraft servers there was a trick. Some people were typing in global chat "Hey, I am leaving this server, you can take as mush as you want just type /pay Scammer -10000" . So you basically send them 10000 coins straight out of your pocket cuz game doesn't care about " - "
The nerve from the last guy to be like: "Yeah, I do it, and I wouldn't give a less of a #*?@ about you, nor anyone in this world" is just insane to me.

The '/coopadd reject' is actually a pretty common trolling tactic in other games. In TF2, typing 'quit' in console quits the game, so a common joke is that you can remove Spy by typing 'quit smoking' in console. Same effect.

@helion2018 Troys account so Troys responsibility. He is complicit by the fact that he allowed someone access to his account. He either pays the value to the guy his bro scammed or gets on his bro to get the stuff back. If he refuses either he should be kicked and reported.
Before anyone says it. Inocent until proven guilty only applies when your not obviously part of the happening. His account was part of it so hes not applicable for inocence as he can say anything he wants even if he was directly there and doing it and its imposible to know what is true.

This is a great piece of advice, and totally would get me by surprise too, since im quite new to Skyblock myself, but bro, Troy is not innocent, he used the oldest trick in the book, "oh, my brother used my account", c'mon, he didn't even got the items back for the guy that got scammed, it really makes it seem that you have a scammer on your guild and dont want to admit it, kick this guy from your guild if you don't want its image to burn with him, because the guy still got scammed, lost progress and time, and the scammer just "got away" if some s*** excuse.
And if thats all true and all, dont try to hide his name, people need to know those scammers names to avoid them too, don't protect this kind of people.

Even if it was just his "little brother", the coins don't vanish like that, make him give some of the value back, it's ok for you that the guy that got scammed now needs to go after the hours of lost time that Troy cost him, but Troy or his "little brother" can just move on like nothing happened? At least make his so-called "little brother" give the value back in some way or another, that way he learns to not do this again, if he really is his brother, then that shouldn't be difficult for him.
I'm not going to defend scammers because they're friends with some UA-camr, of course I don't really expect something to happen by now, in the end they scammed someone, got away, this guy got content for his video and the guy who got scammed lost.

Actually recently I was almost coop-kick scammed by the one in the thumbnail. I proceeded to destroy everything, make lava casts all over the island, deleted all plots in garden, removed all presets and took out the money, ready to transfer the items to a new profile. When I came back the next day the asshole had left himself lmao.

I have an idea to make pretty much every coopadd scam impossible with minimal harm to non-scammers. When someone is added to a coop, they are forced into ironman rules no matter what for 24 hours, no way to disable this from the rest of the coop so the person getting scammed cant be coerced into letting the scammer play under normal rules so that the scammer can sell everything, and additionally a new coop addition can be kicked instantly within the first 24 hours so that a solo player who realizes its a scam doesn't have to hoard everything in their inventory until the scammer is offline for 35 days and they need to make sure themselves that they never stay offline for 35 days. This should also cause minimal harm to non-scammers because the other people can just set up the new coop member with some starting gear for the first day and they shouldn't really need the ah or trading so soon. Additionally, if someone kicks you within the first 24 hours its probably a red flag anywayd and you most likely wouldn't want to be in their coop.
This does open the door for a potential new coop scam though, where someone gets you into their coop and you transfer some stuff over because you expect this to be your permanent coop or something, then they kick you once you've transferred everything and coop salvage, but the hope is that this will be a harder scam to pull off than the current coop scams.
Edit: actually the above scam should already be possible it's just that you'd need multiple scammers or the scammer would need an alt, so I'm actually not aware of any major downsides to the proposed change

But that would be good game development, and we all know the skyblock admins are allergic to that.
Honestly, I had an irl friend that had a little brother who was a little hellspawn lol. Once I visited her house and he was bragging about how he stole stuff from his online friend in hypixel, and another day we (begrudgingly) invited him to play on a new vanilla server we created and he just pumped out a ton of hacks and exploded everything with tnt.
The worst part was when he used HER account to do a similar scam to what Burt did, don't remember how she found out, but she told me that when she told him off he had the same attitude as the last guy in the video. I think she reported him and told their parents and they grounded him, not sure what happened to person he scammed. So I kind of believe Troy on this one, it's a shame everyone in the comments thinks otherwise

1. I see a lot of people saying troy is obviously lying when he said his younger brother did it. It does sound like a bad excuse. However, there were also a lot of important details I couldn't put in because it would leak sensitive information. For what its worth, i 100% believe Troy.

The first scam can be avoided by Hypixel by just making it so that the command doesn't do anything or gives you feedback if you enter a second argument.

i fell for this first scam like 6 months ago, it was not that basic but with coop add nick reject, i instantly known what happenned so i clear my coop bank and started remove minions and items from my base, some random guy apeared in the island asking me to add him to the coop so we can kick the scammer but he was obviously his friend so i didnt, i asked him what he wants to leave my profile and he ask my all my items and coins or else he is not leaving forever, i said lol and continued playing as normal, no placing anything in my island, auction or bank, then 3 weeks after he left, i ended up losing just 3 minions and got my base a little griefed, pretty easy fix.... i got lucky, it could've been a lot worse, it is so bad that meanwhile this isnt fixed yet and hypixel support doesnt do nothing to help (sorry if my english is bad it isnt my first lenguage)

This is also used in CSGO, i used to tell people to put "Quit Smoking" in the console for a "rare achievement" (Putting Quit into the console makes you FULLY exit the game and is pretty funny when someone does it)

Doesn't virustotal go by file hashes? The mod with the rat would have a different hash
That’s not how it actually works. Virustotal goes off of the hash of the given file. Usually, it would go off of the generated SHA-256 hash of the file. These hashes are created based off of the contents of the file rather than the name of it, so if the ratter had added the malicious code AFTER running the file thru VirusTotal, it would be computing and checking a different hash. You can try this for yourself: put some random junk in a text file, then run it thru VT. Change the text in the file and NOT the name of it, then run it through again. It will come up with a different hash.
TLDR: That’s not how VT checks files and MushroomEternal is (unfortunately) correct. VT just didn’t catch the malicious code.

My Microsoft account was hacked about 3 days ago(Put a 5-6 digit code into a discord bot and lost the account, still working with Microsoft to get it back.) and all I want is for other people to learn and not make the same mistake as I did, so thank you for letting people know not to trust ANYONE unless you know them irl and can beat the hell out of them if they scam/hack you.
For the first scam, I actually remember this strategy from a long time ago.
When dwarven mines first came out, my guild told people to do “/is king” or something to unlock a quest, when really we just wanted them to get out of the lobby 😅😅😅

I was on skyblock today and i saw it happen in chat, the problem is that it happened from an account with mvp+ rank, it was lvl zero and that's what made it look suspicious. Thankfully the people in chat were quick and prevented the scam.

for the rat scam, some random dude just came up to me (probably some guys alt) and was like i need some advice because i used this flipping mod and have lots of money, and after i gave him some advice he told me to add him on discord and started adverticing the mod, and he told me to use the viruis total thngy as well, i played along untill i decided to get a friend to add him, and see if he can get it to decode it because i was scared of downloading it, then he was like "dude its a private mod" and ignored me

I actually had a similar situation happen to me before (worked a little different) and I managed to catch it WHILE TYPING THE COMMAND TO DO IT! I didn't think much of the scam but it was noticeably impressive for how random it sounds. To put it simply, tricks are being modernized. This happened to me about 3-4 Months ago. This is the reason I am solo and not part of a co-op.

a rat is way more dangerous than just stealing the last 24 hour session ID... it can just instantly send all of ur saved passwords and credit card info the second u run it or the ratter can just look thru ur screen and see exactly what u are doing and even control it even while ur pc isnt on

Imagine how much more money these scammers would have if they used their brains to actually do legitimate business.
It doesn't take much to start a business; just pay attention to the needs of the community and your skillset, then set up shop when they align.
That is how EVERY business gets rich. You don't need to waste away tricking children on Minecraft for pathetic digital currency.
Imagine how rich individual people would be in general if that was true.
Finite money limits things, and skill sets such as scamming and manipulation are useful in marketing which already has plenty of workers. Society is so big if you have a skillset there is a job which needs it or supplies people with it.
There is only so much that can be done, and people can only buy so much.
Scamming is going to yield higher consistent results then the work needed to set up a proper business for something that is already covered or major corporations will take from you with ease.
The same thing happened to me! Luckily I only added one of them and was able to keep some of my stuff. I know I should have been smarter, but just wanted to say be careful out there. It can never happen to you until it does.

i am a ex guild member of nina's and it does not suprise me that he has done this, good thing i quit before he ratted me lol. i was actually the one who helped him get started in the game. he lost everything to a ratter and i guess he became one.
i reached out to him and he got banned and fully wiped on his main account after this video

I know the person that invented this scam. They way they did this at first was different, trying to get people to JOIN YOU, say the invite didn't work, have u do it, and say /coop add invite_accept or accept_invite making it look like a command.

Took all the money from my MMORPG account
Secure password, never shared the password or even the computer I used, only played from home, no downloads of mods or clients or nothing.
They didn't take anything else, just the 100k gp I had just gotten to that day.
Im so happy 200k people saw this vid wich is basicly the whole skyblock community

I have an irl friend that used a similar tactic where him and another kid would offer to build farms for people (before garden update) where they would join people’s co-ops and kick the person out of the coop and take their stuff

I was was scammed myself out of my account about a few months ago. I contacted Microsoft support 4 times, and every time they responded with the same thing: We are unable to regain your account due to the fact that security information has been changed. I will never forget that day.
I never fall for the "but it was my little/big brother who did it!" thing. Unless you specifically know that person does have a sibling, which you may know since you know "troy" so well.
Even then man. If I can't count on your acct to be you I can't trust you. So either you're a scammer or your acct is constantly at risk of being under control of a scammer. Either way, untrustable.

used to troll in CSGO using a similar message of telling people to type "quit smoking" in console fpr free wall hacks but the game only reconizes the "quit" command and closes their game.

I did a similar trick to get annoying people out of closed lobbys. I talk about how many blocks I've placed on my island. When they ask where to get these stats, I say '/island stats'. Worked quite a few times

Someone tried to do the first scam on me.But he didn't even risk sending me coop invite.He just said it out of thin air.And I knew that if you add extra things after a command it sometimes just runs the normal command,so I did /coop to know what are the coop commands.And realized it was a scam.And I let everyone else in the lobby know about his scam
