You would get DKP based on merits like, being on time for raids, depositing consumables in the guild bank, etc. you will loose DKP for doing mistakes or making everyone angry in the raid.
A pure scam... My guilde dropped the DKP system when the officers wanted to stuff their rerolls while the less "social" players were full of them. (remember we were 40 during raids so a guilde was a bit like a factory...)

It was a system where when an item dropped that you needed, you made a 100 roll on it, and if you win it, the next roll would be a 99. But if you got nothing in the entire raid, you gained an extra point you can use the next time. One were able to stack up to a maximum of 110. But if you use those extra points, they are consumed completely.

Okay the last part really got me. When your steroid abilities just finished their cooldowns and your trinkets proc, you just gotta do what you gotta do.
I remember playing a low pop RP server, cause I didn't know what RP was. Our guild had 2 Fury warriors, me and 1 other who messed up server pick. But since we hit 60 we didn't want to change, plus the guild we were actually had a lot of nice people. However every one on the server laughed at warriors, they saw them as only RP characters. Me and the other guy kept theory crafting instead of RP with every one. I remember the Warrior forums, and learning the whole stack Hit chance, and how to get buffs. One raid night, we show up to MC, and hard carry out raid. RPers are not good raiders. Both of us was doing 20% and some times half the raid damage on packs and pulls. Heck we pulled from tank, even when we were not trying to. I also remember the guild leader having to kick us from the guild, cause a officer thought we were hacking, cause we were "younger kids who break rules" and he didn't want to be punished by blizzard. It was hilarious. We were trying to explain to him meta and min/maxing, but at the time we didn't know what it was exactly, we were just following what other warriors were doing on other servers. Ah those days. Cause it was RP server, we were the dunce brain dead Warriors. It was our "theme", until that day when we hard carried half of MC, then got kicked. The guild leader invited us back a few weeks later, and we had to carry them. At least we were getting content done finally. They changed us from the dunce twins, to the legendary twins, for our guild RP. Honestly it got really annoying trying to carry them. I suppose that is when my elitism was born.

True path of PVE war (dps or tank) in vanilla/classic is fury with 2 one-handed weapons : fury dps or fury prot. Playing other specializations will necessarily lower your performances or that of your raid.
So true, back in the day, warriors where so gear dependent, that when you reach max level you are weak, slow, you didn't change stantes properly, you don't have macros to swipe weapons, but the moment that you get gear and get used to play warrior you melt almost everything (I played warrior in BC and WotLK, but I guess is similar in classic)
depending on spec yes... i was arms until 1.6. then with the revamp i went to a 2handweapon fury with a polearm.... all enchanted and geard toward 34% crit to permanently got the attackspeedbuff going. lets just say...bossfights went massy from that time on...but the early vanilla were lawless days... the original meelee hunter, the combat dagger rogues. and 3 minute mages

I was a DPS Fury Orc and I was in a Raid in Hellfire citadel and after fighting the 2nd Boss all the players made fun of me so I started to get stronger and stronger and one day I was doing quests some kid said "WOW YOU'RE REALLY POWERFUL" and I replied "Thanks earthling" Same in legion. I hosted a mythic dungeon for people who found it difficult to get into mythic dungeons and one person said my DPS was awful. You know what I did? I got stronger AGAIN and did people make fun of me after that? No. Even though people laugh and poke fun but these are actually moments to wake up and get stronger and stronger

With modern tools, addons, knowledge of the games, over a decade of private servers, and general skill: of course this was going to happen. It didn't ruin Classic WoW.
