OMG. I got a 2004 Malibu a few days ago and was so worried when the window wouldn’t come back up. Your video was such a big help! Thank you so much 😃
YES!!!! Thank you bud!!!!! I watched so much tripe until I found you!!!!! Wow, a million thanks cause it’s gonna rain hard!
Cheers from 🇨🇦 👏🏻
Stbbing method worked. Was so stressed bc my oldest drives his siblings to school. It's been raining and he stopped at drive up pharmacy for prescription....window got stuck down. Thanks to you we'll be replacing the switch tomorrow and were able to get window up in the meantime.
Thanks for showing the WHOLE process. I hate videos where they're like, "ok just take that out" and cut to it already taken out haha. Nice to get tips on everything involved
I may be wrong, however I do believe that switch assembly won the "GM Award For Value Engineering Excellence". Congrats on a great vid.
Brooo no way the stabbing method worked 😂😂😂😂 I was so stressed out for many reasons and my window wouldn’t go up I tried n tried n then looked up for a video n tried the stabbing method hahaha😂😂 thanks man!!
Thanks so much bro I tried it for my 2003 Malibu and it really worked on the first try
Your 'stabbing' advice worked for me! Thanks for the great video!
Worked out great, thanks for the video. Breaking plastic clips is so easy on older vehicles, appreciate the tips. Flawless replacement.
As the owner of a 99 Malibu the best advice is to replace the motor and regulator both because this is a common problem with the windows but the motor/regulator is 125-150 new and labor is about 100, so I'd go to the junk yard and if you're lucky someone replaced them and if the part looks new get it, they will cost you about 35-40 dollars and if you watch this video you can do it yourself
thanks for the tip on leaning into the switch. helped me get my window up on my 2006 Chevy Malibu Maxx
The stabbing method!! Great video, thank you!
Great advice stabbing did the job. I was thinking it was the motor but it the switch
You just made my girls day got her window up. Thank you.
I second your statement... thank you so much haha
Stabbing method worked, thanks a bunch!!
Thank you. Saved me some grief and money.
Holy crap, the slamming worked! Thank you!
Duuuuude.....i seriously thought wtf with the stabby stab on the button, window was stuck down tho so I had to at least try, and it worked!!!!! Thank you!!!!!
Youre hella smart. Fixed my gfs malibu switch with your advice
Just installed a window switch on my 2002 Chevy Malibu. I bought the part on amazon for $16.95 and works great!!!
Heriverto Sandoval what is it called
Reannaa Dorman 901-034 front driver side door lock switch (Amazon) hope that helps 😁👍🏻
LOL!! 3:02..."I do not recommend Dorman units..."
Today all in all in a sudden my driver side window would not come down. All the others worked fine, so I knew it was not the motor. I hit the switch in short brief taps like you showed in your video and it worked again. Thank you so much!!!!
Actually, Gina, each window has its own regulator/motor, meaning that just because the others worked fine doesn't mean they all will. If a cable snaps on one or a pulley breaks, no amount of playing with switches will do any good. The regulator will need to be replaced. The good news is that as I write this, they're available on eBay for only about $40.
🗣Thanks a million!!!
I am hooked on the Motorcraft electrical grease now. I don't understand why you can't seem to buy it from anywhere else, and so many people use dielectric grease in so many applications incorrectly. Dielectric grease is for high volt/amp applications like spark plug wires, it's not meant for lower voltage applications like this. Good job!
This guy and video is awesome
Excellent!!
SUBSTANTIAL FordTechMakuloco
Tutorial great video brilliant thank you

I broke off the tip of my butter knife trying to get that stubborn thing up and out, until I watched the part at 3:52 about the metal tab. This worked with my Chevy Malibu 2007. Thank you.
Yes, DO use dormans improved designs over factory failures.
What if the window comes down with switch but won't go up.
I have 2 windows that are like that. But can put one window up with master on drivers side.
I'm going to ck the wiring

I'm having problem with the window not going up or down but when I press the button it makes a humming sound. Is that humming sign to replace the switch or the motor?
Same. My window use to go up and down. Then it wouldn't for like a month. Then it did. Now it doesn't AT ALL!!! But I do hear that humming noise. That's why I came to this video.
just did this on my chevy, be careful with those metal clips, they fall out easily and can go behind the door cover like mine did ): Also my windows were going up and down really slowly, made me think it was the window motors. But once I changed out the switch they worked perfectly.... that was so weird to me that a bad switch could make the windows go up and down slowly. Whatever, now I just need to fish out the metal clip and hopefully, all will be well.
Lubricating the side tracks will help too. Just spray some silicone into the side tracks, and that oughta do it.
Where did you find that part at
@@vickyharris2320 ebay, that's where I almost always buy my car parts.

My 2010 Chevy malibus driving side went out and in turn none of my windows work it used to make this almost wind up toy sound but now there's no noise and nothing works. I'm just want it inspected I'm so done with fines, any ideas?
Where can I order that part
I just changed the window switch on my 2005 Chevy Malibu classic now the window auto down feature doesn't work how do I fix that? Other than that the windows go up and down good I bought my window switch from Amazon for $19
my back windows wont roll down but front will i changed the switch still nothing 🤔
Thanks for the video... I changed my 2009 switch by following your instructions. The only problem I have is every window now works but the driver side... any suggestions????
So the Diagnostics part is jabbing the buttons . . . LMAOOOOO
Just tried it and it starting to work
My switch wasn't working and so I stopped at a Pick-A-Part to just get a close to new master switch. I'm trying to plug it in right now, and the side mirror button is working on top, but the other four windows are not working.
I got my window switch for $24 at parts geek
Found your other channel here through a comment on the last video I watched there.
You said not to buy Denso switches. What about their headlight assemblies. My 2005 Corolla needs them. Tired of buffing the yellow off. No idea what brand to get. Toyota ones high dollar and since the factory ones started clouding before it was three yeas old I don't trust them
Don't buy DORMAN switches. Denso is likely who made the OEM Toyota parts.
What if none of my switches on the driver’s side doesn’t work?
I have changed my window switch and it still locking out the window
I have some problem my front windows work but the rear ones won't go up or down. I change fuses still not working.
Great video.
Always check wires going from main switch to other side through door. The boot sometimes doesn't protect the metal and eventually the wires get rubbed through or short.
I Have A 2007 Malibu. Driver Switch Board Won't Roll Any Windows. Back Won't Work Only Passanger Window From Passanger Switch Board
Wtf????? Sure bang on the switch
I wonder why he says he doesn't recommend Dorman...he doesn't explain why.
They are known for horrible reliability especially electronics.
Can't you just clean the switch that isn't making contact? $100 is too much for such a small thing to repair. Or are the switches likey worn out!
