  • CLASSIC GEAR ALERT!! This time the well loved WJMX10 from Panasonic. It looks like kit from Knight Rider. I go through this big beast step by step, and talk about some of the others in the MX series as well as why I think this mixer is seriously under rated.

My WJMX-10 is in the mail and this is only making the days go slower... Also, whats the song playing when it's "Jam time"?

I’ve got a WJMX-50 and it is so far my favorite for visual feedback mixed with wipes

I just picked at WJMX-50 myself but I’m having trouble getting HDMI inputs (converted down) and be in color. By chance do you know of a quality HDMI -> Composite/AV/S-Video converter out there that plays nice with the WJMX-50?

@@Debaser987 common problem on the Panasonic lines when using hdmi. I had a similar problem with the ave5 and converting from hdmi. The solution? Never found one, my take is it’s not a strong signal? Maybe a distribution amp can fix that but it’s probably some information being lost in poor scan conversion. Or a temperamental tbc? Regardless, I just download media and use a Andor with a 3 ring to rca breakout cable to get video to analog easy without conversion issues and such. It’s a little expensive but for studio use it’s incredible. It’s designed to even play media on loop 24/7. I just load a thumb drive and get to work with ease. If you wanna continue to use hdmi you’ll need a better scan converter or a different one it sounds.

@@Debaser987 The RCA DHCOMF works perfectly with my MX-30, so well I have two of them! They require no external power and you lose no quality in the conversion. This is what I'm talking about: www.walmart.com/ip/RCA-DHCOMF-HDMI-to-Composite-Video-Adapter/540440677

Great demo, thanks for putting this one up. Did you use anything special for audio reactivity in this setup?

This was my first mixer (after making the dirty mixer), still love it. Bought online, pictured all covert with dust, but was only €10,- :D So I had to try it out. Cool design and black is also nice. The feedback to external camera with super impose vs title effect is also really nice. Nice and basic machine. Have you tried the title maker input? I was wondering how it was used and if it's capable of receiving other inputs as well, it's got a lot op pins. I should read the manual one time..
