Remember my parents laughing as I learned the falling technique to my siblings from the moment they could walk everytime I came to their place (my siblings are 6, 13, 15, 18, 20 & 21y younger then me).
Suddenly one day my smallest sibling fell down a tree outside. Both my mum n me saw it happen.
I was like: oh, there she fell. Calm as like mentioning the mailman coming with mail, or deliveryfirm with a package.
While my mum was at a complete panic just to relize she only manage to raise up from the chair and my sis already scrubbing the dust of her, just to get back up the tree...
From then on our mum was really grateful I'd been doing those drills with them concistently, whenever I were there.
Same will apply the time when it's needed to apply one of your sweeps in the house in a sharp moment. Hope it'll never has to come to it tho, and if so, that it'll end well for your part.

Closets are crazy good for hiding. Some houses just have closets with really deep or irregularly shaped corners, that you physically can't see into unless if you stick your head into one.
If you're ever worried about someone hiding in there, keep things on the outside of the door that signify the closet has been disturbed, but cannot be set back in their original positions from the inside, where someone would be hiding. Just a chair would be a good example, or maybe an instrument propped up against the door.

Ever since I've bought my home 5 years ago, I've done this drill at least monthly. We don't live in a "bad" area, but there have been several times where our back door was left open by accident. When we come home, we don't realize it until we walk up. It's very unnerving when you have 5 kids and it's dark when you get home. The training I do has helped to curb the adrenalin that gets dumped and allows me to be able to make clear and consistent decisions. Responsible owners will train and train and hope to never have to use deadly force.

@@jorenprins5947 The state of Kentucky is is about 2.5x the land area(at about 40,000 square miles) of your entire country(about 16,000square miles). Netherlands has a population of 17.6million people while Kentucky has 4.5 million people, meaning your population density is much higher. Kentucky has the Appalachia region running through it's entire eastern third, which is one of the most remote and ancient wildernesses on the planet(if you don't know about Appalachia, you can't understand really just how wild large regions of America really are).
This is a common problem with European perceptions of America and Americans. You people fail to realize most of our states are larger than most of your nations. For us, traveling from Kentucky to Missouri is like you traveling from France to Germany in a geographic sense. America is HUGE and most of it is rural and remote. We have 350million+ people spread across it. The things that work for you people in Europe do not work for us and some of it is outright unfeasible and wasteful for us to try to emulate. I don't think many Europeans actually understand and appreciate that.

Local Sheriff departments are typically well staffed and equipped for their county, at least in Western KY where I grew up they were. Trust me you can make this topic DEEP. There’s so many levels of skills needed to do a one man clearing but you delivered a conceptual overview that most people will gravitate towards. I believe the lightbulb switched on in a lot of peoples heads. The “Oh, I get it moment”. I’ve cleared hundreds of rooms in my lifetime and I can tell you that each one is different and calls for a lot of on the fly decisions. I especially loved the advice of holding your weapon in a low ready position while moving and identifying the threat. If your weapon is in the “green light position” you’re more apt to fire without processing the info which can potentially lead to lifetime regrets. Going to share a little secret with you guys about how to get your wife involved. My wife thought I was crazy and just simply over concerned about being burglarized or having a home invasion. I told her we are going to play a little game and if you win I’m taking you shopping at your favorite store and you can pick out anything you want. From purses, clothes, jewelry, furniture, you name it. She was all in. We took turns being the bad guy. I played the bad guy 1st. After the 3rd engagement she looked at me with the most serious face and said “Oh wow! I’m not prepared at all and this is serious”. Sometimes telling someone is completely different than showing someone. I didn’t hold back either. When I attacked her I did it with a good amount of force and I was very loud. Her adrenaline shot through the roof. The real attacker isn’t going to LOVE YOU he’s going to harm you. From that day forward we worked together and had plans on what we’d do and how we’d respond. She got so good at it that she started anticipating my next moves and I with hers. We became a team. P.S. I did take her shopping and we had a great time together. She purchased a Louis Vuitton satchel, Johnny Was Shirt and a Sig365 custom works. Costs me $4,237.00 but it was well wort it.

There's one thing that you should have covered, going down stairs. Drew very briefly mentioned having basement stairs but never said anything more. A lot of break ins occur through basement windows and you generally have an extremely limited field of view going down enclosed stairwells. My home has a furnished basement and my teenage daughter insists on staying down there. Potentially having to confront an intruder down there is one of my biggest fears. That is the one place in my house where I would be at a disadvantage. There's no way I can go down those stairs without anyone down there seeing me before I see them.

      @polly_sacharride Рік тому +25

@@nicksshitbro If approaching from another direction is an option, for instance a back door, then yes, absolutely, take it. But many, if not most, basements including my own only have a single entrance. That entrance is a narrow, enclosed stairwell. To make things worse it exposes your legs and lower half before you can see into the basement. Anyone down there will see you before you can see them and there's not much of a way around that.
As for entering through the same window that presents a lot of problems. The windows aren't in a position where you could just step through them. Entering through a basement windows is generally very awkward and if you were armed you'd probably have to put your weapon down in order to crawl through. Then there's also the fact that anybody in there would still see you doing that before you could see them.
Hopefully, and most likely, that's a scenario I'll never have to face but I'd still like to know how just in case.

There’s not nearly enough training videos out there that stress the most important thing in this situation, NOT making the wrong decision. Walls and furniture are concealment not cover, brick or concrete walls do provide some protection depending on the caliber of your opponents weapon but are not a guaranty. If shit hits the fan and you are going to hold out in your home for an extended period of time it is likely you will need to create your own cover inside of your home. This being the case you could create a sand bag or Steal pillbox at the end of an interior room or hallway but this isn't always a reasonable option. Your advantage in your home is your knowledge of the layout, your own mobility in it and tactics like the ones in this video. You don't want to pin yourself down in one spot because 2-3 guys using these tactics can pretty easily take you out.

Practicality? Professional consulting? This is a channel we needed for a very long time. But i like how there was some sort of message in the pretty hilarious skit in the beginning. That you guys were training for a "raid", but the former SF dude was like "what?" Its one thing that erks me a tiny bit. By all means - train on the cool raid stuff. I still do too with my group. But what goes into a "raid" is an unbelievable gigantic machine of things. Theres intel, theres logistics, theres planning. When we did raids, it took us sometimes a whole month to plan it if it wasnt time sensitive (in Afghanistan, most times it wasnt - it was rare for our team and if it was? CAG took over). The guys on the ground are just taking ACTION on the intel. Thats it. But as civilians? We need to play multiple roles because we dont have intel guys, we dont have long flight-time drones to recon the target and start to pick up patterns, we dont have humans around the target to give us more information of the situation on the ground. You cant just go "thats our target, lets do cool guy raid". This is deff a great starting point on "Civilian CQB". Start with learning on how to clear - your home. Good one gents! I am LOVING the content!

I think this is something we need to seriously consider especially seeing how Ukraine is going and how augmenting teams with relatively cheap consumer products majorly their effectiveness.
ATAK, Google Maps, CHIRP, SDRs, direction finders, drones, and on and off grid communications are things most groups would majorly benefit from having even one person proficient in managing these things.

If a group werre to have what you say is a "nerd" (i kinda am myself haha) I think you have a more effective and more capable group. Learning to fight, shoot, move is only one part of a giant machine. I have tried to encourage under a different alias of training that some should focus alot more on other things as "modern minutemen". This isnt 1776 anymore, we have technology and so do many other enemies. China, Russia, possibly even domestic enemies - we need to counter that. We need to have a capability similar to that.
