What people don’t understand is how difficult it is for us to give up on someone we love. We prefer getting hurt so it makes us stronger to walk away and even after leaving we still wonder until we finish healing. Once we heal, it’s over.
I understand what you're saying but it's not that you love him its that you don't have the confidence in yourself to see him for who he is. Once your confidence increases to where you know you deserve better, your patience will run out faster with men like that. It won't matter how much you love them. Once you have the confidence to realize they are not giving you what you deserve, it will be much easier to walk away. Sorry sis but I'm going to have to disagree with you on one thing. You don't love him, you love the idea of him. You fell in love with his potential, his representative. I was in a situation where I really was falling for a guy. However, when the sh*t hit the fan and I was left brokenhearted, I didn't pine for him, I pined for the modicum of affection that he intermittently fed me. When I realized what I missed, it helped me to move on quicker and to see the situation for what it was (manipulation), not what i imagined it to be (romance).

Thank you Derrick. Made that mistake long ago by letting a man come back out of regret of losing me and in the process of that marriage I lost me. Once I realized how strong I am I found my true self and was able to get out of that relationship. Knowing what I know now I would never accept a man back because he regretted losing me. It doesn’t work. I want him to want this relationship because he’s ready to move forward and progress not because he’s trying to make up for what was lost.
A lot of women already know that they should have left a long time ago, but they just HAVE to have validation from family, friends, passersby, etc., that they're "doing the right thing." And the tripped out thing about all of that is that 15-20+ people can all say "LEAVE" and yet-they'll STILL stay out of fear of being lonely or even worse: ALONE. I (personally) believe that most men don't regret losing you as much as they regret losing a SPECIFIC PIECE of you. Your absolutely correct. I walked away from my ex because of his constant cheating on ne with other women. He totally denied all. Then after 2 years of courting ,I got told he was secretly married with a kid. He was furious when I found out , but still denied all. With all the constant lying, selfishness,, two-timing, cheating, manipulating, I upped and walked away last year, and never returned. Now I hear his wife is leaving him for the same thing, and he's wanting me back. If you wonder if they will regret losing you, don’t b/c they don’t give a shit about you and more than likely, never did. Plus, when they pop back up (b/c they always do), don’t mistake that as them caring or missing you...they don’t, they just don’t have nothing going on at the time and are bored. I don't normally comment but I felt the need to for this. I came across this video at the right time. He's 23. After 3 years my ex got the grass is greener syndrome. I was his "rock", I was his comfort, I held him up when he couldn't himself, I gave him constant words of affirmation, gifts big or small, trips and adventures, and small acts of love regularly to make sure I always saw a smile on his face. This was my mistake. Men become complacent. As a woman I did way more than I was asked to and I was taken for granted. He told me I was the absolute best to him and wish he had met me when he was older and his life/him was more established. I know now that only the day he sees I will not take him back and I turn my back on him completely... is the day he will regret losing me.
This was very clarifying. I came to the conclusion that the behavior that drove me away from the man I was with may have been somewhat exaggerated due to certain life circumstances, but it wasn't all that much out of his character. In the end I realized who he really was versus who I thought he was, and I really don't think that he is capable of changing. Did he regret loosing me? Hmmm - I think at some point he may have regretted losing access to the benefits that I extended when I allowed contact with him. I don't think he ever regretted losing anything about me as a person - I think I gave him too much safety and he thought that he could just waltz back into my world whenever things got to be "too much" for him with the other women he was screwing. Starting a fight, storming off, ghosting, and going MIA for a period of time are his hallmarks and they have been for most of his adult life. When this happens it means that either he went back to some woman who would open her door to him -or- he hooked up with someone new. He just got pissed that I took myself out of his "rotation" and he can't make contact with me anymore. I am glad it ended and it doesn't matter that he doesn't regret losing me anymore. In time I came to see this was really a blessing.

I think it's just curiosity, especially being that she married this individual. Men do whatever in the beginning phase to get you and once they feel like they have you they stop doing those things to keep you around. And you start questioning and wondering what happened? And why the sudden change. We sometimes even start questioning our damn selves like we've done something wrong. Men are just a different breed from us women. Why the majority of men are like this? I don't have a clue, or it could be there upbringing. No morals, No value, nor structure as it pertains to relationships all they were exposed to were the toxicity of situationships, relationships, marriages etc. And maybe that's all they know.

Same here. I am wavering back and forth on what to do. I have told him there is the possibility of me walking away. And he is “stalling” things by trying to remain in touch during this quarantine. I’m taking it day by day. Some days I’m ready to just let it go and move on. Other days, I cannot imagine life without him. We are just in different places in life and have different priorities. I completely understand where he is coming from, but I’m just not getting what I truly want and need in the relationship..(due to what’s going on in his family life😔). It’s so hard.

I didn't sign up for a pen pal kind of thing. When I came to his life he was occupied with his work and now he is even more occupied. I think the last relationship ended similarly like mine, except he had a child with that lady. This is a proof that relationship needs investment of whatever it needs to thrive .

I gave everything I had and more, loved him, showed him acts of service, gifts of love, words of affirmation, and affection, and I was given the silent treatment, was shown no affection, then yelled at and discarded. It still hurts because I love him...he will not find another woman who will go to the lengths and give the effort I did. I don't think he's capable of regret because he showed me he never cared about me or loved me. He cares only about what HE wants, what HE can get from someone...I can't spend my life with someone who doesn't communicate, doesn't support me emotionally, and is only using me...Thank you Derrick...while my pain is still fresh, I've been spared a lifetime of pain and heartache.

I was in a situation where I really was falling for a guy. However, when the sh*t hit the fan and I was left brokenhearted, I didn't pine for him, I pined for the modicum of affection that he intermittently fed me. When I realized what I missed, it helped me to move on quicker and to see the situation for what it was (manipulation), not what i imagined it to be (romance).

Thank you Derrick. Made that mistake long ago by letting a man come back out of regret of losing me and in the process of that marriage I lost me. Once I realized how strong I am I found my true self and was able to get out of that relationship. Knowing what I know now I would never accept a man back because he regretted losing me. It doesn’t work. I want him to want this relationship because he’s ready to move forward and progress not because he’s trying to make up for what was lost.
A lot of women already know that they should have left a long time ago, but they just HAVE to have validation from family, friends, passersby, etc., that they're "doing the right thing."
And the tripped out thing about all of that is that 15-20+ people can all say "LEAVE" and yet-they'll STILL stay out of fear of being lonely or even worse: ALONE.
I (personally) believe that most men don't regret losing you as much as they regret losing a SPECIFIC PIECE of you. That's why most men have more than one chick because they're searching for that "perfect one" who encompasses ALL traits from all the women he's messing around with. THEN when he recognizes that all the women he's messing around with doesn't really compare to the one thing that YOU'VE been encompassing this whole time, THEN (and only THEN), does he regret letting you go and missing you.
(I feel that these things can go for both sexes, but since the title was about a man regretting losing a woman, then that's just my personal opinion everyone 😊)

This is so true I had to read it twice. Some women are scared to be alone and will stay with a man who doesn’t treat them well. I think sometimes it’s more meaningful to be single/alone , than to allow a man or woman waste your time! Learn to love yourself ,grow and work on yourself worth! Men also need to work on themselves, learn to fill that void instead of seeking multiple women , it definitely goes both ways... people need to self love before trying to love others.

If you wonder if they will regret losing you, don’t b/c they don’t give a shit about you and more than likely, never did. Plus, when they pop back up (b/c they always do), don’t mistake that as them caring or missing you...they don’t, they just don’t have nothing going on at the time and are bored. I don't normally comment but I felt the need to for this. I came across this video at the right time. He's 23. After 3 years my ex got the grass is greener syndrome. I was his "rock", I was his comfort, I held him up when he couldn't himself, I gave him constant words of affirmation, gifts big or small, trips and adventures, and small acts of love regularly to make sure I always saw a smile on his face. This was my mistake. Men become complacent. As a woman I did way more than I was asked to and I was taken for granted. He told me I was the absolute best to him and wish he had met me when he was older and his life/him was more established. I know now that only the day he sees I will not take him back and I turn my back on him completely... is the day he will regret losing me.

This was very clarifying. I came to the conclusion that the behavior that drove me away from the man I was with may have been somewhat exaggerated due to certain life circumstances, but it wasn't all that much out of his character. In the end I realized who he really was versus who I thought he was, and I really don't think that he is capable of changing. Did he regret loosing me? Hmmm - I think at some point he may have regretted losing access to the benefits that I extended when I allowed contact with him. I don't think he ever regretted losing anything about me as a person - I think I gave him too much safety and he thought that he could just waltz back into my world whenever things got to be "too much" for him with the other women he was screwing. Starting a fight, storming off, ghosting, and going MIA for a period of time are his hallmarks and they have been for most of his adult life. When this happens it means that either he went back to some woman who would open her door to him -or- he hooked up with someone new. He just got pissed that I took myself out of his "rotation" and he can't make contact with me anymore. I am glad it ended and it doesn't matter that he doesn't regret losing me anymore. In time I came to see this was really a blessing.

I think it's just curiosity, especially being that she married this individual. Men do whatever in the beginning phase to get you and once they feel like they have you they stop doing those things to keep you around. And you start questioning and wondering what happened? And why the sudden change. We sometimes even start questioning our damn selves like we've done something wrong. Men are just a different breed from us women. Why the majority of men are like this? I don't have a clue, or it could be there upbringing. No morals, No value, nor structure as it pertains to relationships all they were exposed to were the toxicity of situationships, relationships, marriages etc. And maybe that's all they know.

Same here. I am wavering back and forth on what to do. I have told him there is the possibility of me walking away. And he is “stalling” things by trying to remain in touch during this quarantine. I’m taking it day by day. Some days I’m ready to just let it go and move on. Other days, I cannot imagine life without him. We are just in different places in life and have different priorities. I completely understand where he is coming from, but I’m just not getting what I truly want and need in the relationship..(due to what’s going on in his family life😔). It’s so hard.

When I came to his life he was occupied with his work and now he is even more occupied. I think the last relationship ended similarly like mine, except he had a child with that lady. This is a proof that relationship needs investment of whatever it needs to thrive .

I think you need to make videos for men too, because the epidemic of broken consciousness in love is something that plagues both genders! And hoping that one day they will regret their decisions. So i feel the person asking for advice, after 3 years of being left for another girl from my ex husband i still struggle with that petty mentality, it is petty and it’s a sign that i’m not healed enough bc if we confirm that we can move forward without questioning their regret in life we let go of that chain they have placed on us. we need to let that go, if you even mention THEIR regret that is how the pain seeps back in.
