    Thanks. I got the Azurys as my first high-end ($300+) headphones last week. Been loving them

    I have both the Elegias and the Radiance, and yes the Radiance is a lot more engaging and well tuned that the elegias, but what I have done to make the elegias a little bit more engaging is that I changed the pads to Dekoni elite sheepskins and I also use the earmen colibri and it has a base boost option and that seems to alleviate some if not most of the issues in the sound department with the elegias, specially regarding the base, it hits hard and it's well extended and brings it a little closer to the radiance, while still maintaining an airy and spacious presentation.
    I never had the issue of metalic timber that people complain a lot about focal headphones and I also have the clears, so that hasn't been much of an issue for me and tho I appreciate a huge sound stage in headphones, it's not a big priority for me or is not going to detract from the experience that much, I'm more interesting in separation, imaging and holography than sound stage size when it comes to technicalities, so focal headphones fit the bill perfectly for me and the punch and raw visceral experience that they bring to the table is still something that I only get with them.

    Great video! Saw your post on Head-fi. 👍 Just ordered the Azyrus today. Still looking for a pair of Radiance in good condition, but these will hopefully scratch the itch for now. 🙂

    Great video. I liked that you mentioned HD 650. I have the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro like most beginners start with. I then bought the HD 650 but I was never wowed by them so I haven’t yet discovered something enjoyable. I am thinking to try the Azurys because they are more affordable.

      I have the HD650, HD599, DT 770 80ohm, DT 770 Pro X, K371, MX50, PX7 and Momentum 4. Of all these I prefer the sound of 2: HD599 and DT770 80ohm (which I had them custom mod detachable cable). I'm waiting for the Azurys to show up on Amazon to use my gift card, I'm very excited about those.

    I like to EQ my headphones to pull the best out of them. So for me, between the Azurys and the Elegia, I'd go for the Elegia since I can get the bigger stage and fix the timbre with some EQing.

    I have Elegias and was looking at these two new headphones so this comparison was really helpful. Doesn’t sound like they are different/better enough to spend the money, but kudos to Focal for yet another fantastic headphone.
    BTW, have you tried leather pads on your Elegia? I found that filled out the bass for me.

      I did yes, it definitely helps. If you have Elegia then you're set at the desk, I'd say these are more if you want to take focal closed back sound on the go and still have a superb experience that trades blows with Elegia.

    Azurys vs Thieaudio Monarch Mk3 or other $1000 IEMs? Which one is better for sound quality, excluding the soundstage which is obvious.

    Soundstage on Hadenys compared to something like HD560S? Are vocals in your head or more in front of you?

    Yeah the Elear I had back in the day were a little metallic. Preferred them over the Z7 and Nighthawks I had at the time.

    Who has a more natural timbre - hadeniz or azaris? and who has better bass and who has mid range?

    • @engineeringart6345
      @engineeringart6345  25 днів тому +6

      Hadenys is a very similarly tuned headphone that does everything better in a technical sense. It's more detailed, sounds more natural and has a more spacious presentation. Timbre is slightly better on Hadenys. As for bass quantity, see the FR for yourself, closed backs do have an advantage in quantity, but again, Hadenys is going to give a slightly better resolved and textured bass.

    Can you use balanced cable on this? Is it a 4 pole cable that goes inside the 1 sided cable input? If yes do you get one in the box?

    Hi Thanks for Doing this Review .. I am watching with My LG V60 .. I went to a shop to try some headphones ... They didn't have Elegia but they had Clear MG and I tried and liked it .. Just wondering how different will Elegia be compare to Clear MG please ? Elegia is Much More Cheaper online and I really want to buy it just that not sure if it will sound as good .. Elegia is AUD329 at the moment .. Should I just Blind buy it pls? Thanks J

    • @engineeringart6345
      @engineeringart6345  24 дні тому +1

      For 329 AUD it's a superb price. Elegia are solid, with great detail and some solid technicalities. You'll be happy if you liked the Clear - they're not as good, but that goes without saying.

      @@engineeringart6345 Thank You I should go ahead and buy if Elegia is 50 - 70% as good as Clear MG 😅 Oh just wondering have you heard of Soundcore X600 Speakers before? Have u try one or two yet? Getting two of them is also my options .. Thanks

    • @engineeringart6345
      @engineeringart6345  24 дні тому +1

      @@joewinglovemusic Honestly I think Elegia is bang in the middle of that range, 60% of a Clear for me at least :). For EDM it gets to 70-80%, it's great there. Falls a bit short for vocals or natural instruments.

      I see .. Sorry do you mean Elegia is good for Electric Dance Music please? I do listen to Cantonese Pop as well as enjoy very much Musical , Pop, Hits from the 60s to Current Top 40 Music as well as Folk Songs, The Carpenters, Air Supply, ABBA, Queen, John Farnham, Missy Higgins, Vanessa Amorosi , Sneaky Sound System etc .. do u know these Artists? Will they sound good on Elegia please? Thanks

    Such a shame on focal for not putting balanced features don't get me worng it's very easy to drive but current "portable" dac/amps like they literally push 4.4 output 😤

    I bought the Celestee and they hurt my ears, Just to bright to me so sent them back, Took a chance on the Bathys and loved them, I see the Azurys and took a punt on them with my bad experience of the Celestee in mind and i was totally surprised at how amazing they are and with a Quidelix 5K even more so,
    I now have the Hadenys coming as my first ever open backs and the Bathys are on ebay, I hate Focal because they more often than not knock it out of the park which then hurts my bank account 😂
