Is the hate for the Pixel 8a justified or overblown??
it is justified mostly because of the sales surrounding the regular pixel 8, but the back panel being matte really is a nice touch.
@@augusthirdsm yeah the pricing of the pixel 8 has a big influence on whether or not the 8a is worth it.
Really I love the design with the little extrude of the visor compared to the pixel 8. But yeah the screen bezel is a NO 😅 even the nothing 2a as thin bezel for a low price like why Google skipped it ?!
I really like my Pixel 8a! It's very comfortable in the hand, and it's very snappy and fast. With top cameras and 7 years of updates. I'm happy! No negative thoughts at all! And I like your videos very much!👌👌

My pixel 8a is just a phone with good looks , form and functionality which is the reason i bought and im very happy with it. Its just a praceful phone for me . Happy buyer.

I bought the 8a this week and I absolutely love it. Got some cash and traded in an old phone so it was only half the price of msrp. It’s my first android in 6-7 years and I’m so glad to be back.
The bezels definitely are iPhone XR/11 but in this modern day and age where the entire phone is screen, it’s not horrible and I come from a 14 Pro. The matte plastic back is one less thing to worry about breaking, the UI is so snappy and the battery is also really good so far. Cannot complain at all.

People complained about those bezels but in 2022 the iPhone launched the SE (3rd Gen) and people praised it. It's almost as let's criticize everything Pixel and give a free pass to everything on the iPhone.
Why will the bezel on pixel 6a be less than the one on the 8a?
Tech reviewers tore the 2022 SE 3 to shreds. Most reviewers said the iPhone 8 design was too outdated.
@@Jo5ue1 for the record I gave the SE a scathing review, Apple at its worst IMO. And I consider myself a moderate Apple fanboy.
I got the Pixel 8 and I got to say that it is the best Android device I have so far. Simple,easy on the hand,good battery and cameras. It's made by Google and not some form of Google skin phones in the market .
Would love a telephoto lens in Pixel 8 and that is abt it. Cannot wait for TSMC Tensor 5 chipset next year
I like a bezel. For the same reason I frame a picture before I hang it on the wall. Bezel phobia is largely a UA-cam phenomenon

It’s a very good phone. Pixel 8a is getting 7 years of software support for 500.00 bucks wtf do ppl except!?
@@katinasoutherland7693 yeah I think a lot of people are missing the value of the pixel 8a. The camera quality alone should make this phone a lot more appealing
I wanted to buy it but since Pixel 9 is coming 13th August, well.. i'll wait for 9 then

Don't forget about the 5W Wireless charging and Gorilla Glass 3.
Nothing's wrong with that if this thing was $250. It's all about the price.
@@jevonsims900 yeah the gorilla glass 3 I’m ok with since I use screen protectors anyways but that 5W wireless charge speed is pretty horrible haha
@@jevonsims900 I think its 7.5watt wireless, or my Audi charges it faster than it should. Anyway the 18w charging does not bother me since I charge it in my car to work (2 x 40 min for both directions). And I guess it will keep the battery in good condition since its fast charging on the last 20% that kills batterys.
I'm using the Pixel 8a for the exact same time as you and I can say I 100% agree with your words except for the heating up. When is hot outside and I'm heavy using it, it becomes hot as hell and also has recharging issues, some times it just stops charging if it's too hot. That the worst thing about the phone imho.
Fingerprints not recognised, Phone just freezes no matter what app im using. Photos awesome. 2 weeks experience
@@F4Z1NGAMING did you update the the latest software? I’m not having any issues with freezing and though a bit slow, the finger print reader is working fine for me.

I am using fingerprint for almost everything, but I panicked, when the phone was asking my PIN, did enter 2x wrong PIN code. And uptill now no freezing up. It always respond. I like the fast charging battery with a 33 Watt USB charger and a 1 week battery usage, although I turn data lots off.
Its a great phone, the bezels don't bother me at all.

i just bought one and it arrived 2 days ago, loving it so far. i got it for 450 with free included pixel buds a-series, which is around 100 in value so i pretty much got the phone for 350. i'm quite happy with that deal honestly, though i know i could've just waited and got the phone for 300 on sale in a few months. the thing people fail to realise is that saving money is saving money, no matter what. if you save 100 with literally no downsides (i don't personally care for any of the upgrades that the regular pixel 8 gives) then go for it. also, whenever the pixel 8 is on sale, the pixel 8a is likely to be on sale as well, so this phone will honestly be a better pick for most people than the regular 8 in a few months when the "brand new phone" hype wears off and google puts the price of the 8a down more.

Had my phone since release. I got it with my phone subscription for free (actually, I pay a little bit less than before) so price was great :D I could not care about the bezels, they are about the same as on my daughters iphone 13 (one of those phones that people love the design off :P I do not really care about software support either, since I usually get a new phone ever 2 or 3 year :) But nice I guess. Never had any problem with battery or charging, since I usually charge the phone in the car to work (40 min ride) so I never see the battery or charging speed as a problem. Only thing I miss is a macro functionality in the camera??? This is a big what? in my view. First camera I bought that I can not find a macro camera in.
I have the phone and was annoyed about the bezel at first. I dont even notice it now, the phone is that good. They even sort of fixed the shitty radio!

I have a Pixel 8a for a month now and all works very good. I have it most of the time Off Internet/data or even in Airplane mode. Accu battery just needs to be charged once a week as I was used with my old fashioned Nokia's.
It has all functionality needed in countries where a smartphone is kind of mandatory to exist in the system. Even reading a passport chip.
Nice OLED HD screen, little smaller and less weight than other smartphones and I do not care about the bigger frame around it.

Thick bezel is not really a problem. It's only the non-symmetrical chin make the bezel looks ugly.

Smooth sailing and pure Android experience and the 8a just looks and feels better in hand than the 8 ✅ I'm happy that Pixel get a little critics and people never gets to try them out, that means that pixel have to keep prices down a little, you get flagship experience for half the price ✅
in petson the bezels dont look big to me... but i used the pixel 3a xl for 3 yrs. I dont see anything to whine about
They should just put pixel 5 screen on current budget lineup!! I think the cost is more or less the same??? The front of 8A is so ugly in 2024 standard.

Same people complaining will buy a 300 dollar Chinese phone with a huge display and lie about how happy they are despite their lack of software support, garbage tier cameras and unbearable bloatware
Its hilarious coz this also happens with the Pixels. Except its 400 usd and has shitty performance.
Those Chinese phones have a better screen, processor and will still hold strong even after updates stop. The Pixel a series is more rounded but quite a lot of people don’t care about the camera.

@@JSLReview no, they should take their chip design more seriously and put a beast in their pixels to really compete and make a difference rather than keep letting their loyal fans down while the rest of us have to listen to their fanboys (including many UA-camrs ) make lame duck excuses for their pitifully weak tensor chips.
@@ashtonkee5868 yeah it was so hyped when Tensor was first announced but I don’t think you can classify it other than it being a let down. It’s getting better IMO but far from what most of us expected
Maybe you should try using the phone first before you comment, chances are that processor is way faster than the phone you're using now
