So simple, so sweet. The horse so patient, the man so kind and the girls happy and natural in their rythmns. Thank you for this gem.

Dancing was how you socialised, you got a chance to show off, my granny said twas always the quiet ones that were the best dancers that everyone stopped to watch them.

That horse is saying in the beginning, "Come on, Paddy! Let's go! " Even the horse couldn't wait for the dancing. It was such a beautiful video. Well done, girls! Keep at it!

I know Ireland tries to keep old traditions going and teachings. I could not be impressed more with all the people playing musical instruments and in general it seems that it is genuine. The dance we did not see enough of but you have a beautiful country. I would rather have tourist than big business and hotels ruining your country sides. Stay safe. Girls did a great job. Pony is nice too.

Thanks for a great video which I came upon by chance. Even today, lorries are often used for ad hoc stages. In nautical terminology a "dancing master" was a term for a fierce martinet. Dancing masters were known for their ill temper and no nonsense approach with either princes or peasants! Wonderful to see the children keeping the traditions alive.

    • @mjw12345

Well, many of us say it's a state of mind, not any state of ancestry, we like to say of the Normans and others 'more Irish than the Irish themselves' - so don't be sorry!
