I just left a comment on Part 3 about making the jumper wires post fader, which I saw you pointed out on this video. The ZED 436 model has a TRS direct out on each mono channel, which I now noticed this board does not have. Hoping the jumpers will be easy to spot like on this model (I think they probably will), the hassle looks as if they need to be soldered rather then plugging in an actual jumper wire. That could take quite some time on the 32 mono channels.
If you know about the ZED 428 or ZED 436 models please feel free to chime in and offer any advice. Thanks for very well detailed videos on these mixers. I gave you a sub. Thanks.

Thank you for your help. I was able to fix one of my faders that I accidently pushed in by accident. It was a simple fix thanks to your video. Great Job!!!

      Great! I'm glad it helped.

The post and pre selection must be for the EQ i think, and not for the aux, i see the connection running towards the EQ pot. And i want to ask you if that opamp is a good one, must be because they also used ALP pots, otherwise i makes no sense

Thanks! I was looking for the jumper positions for the PRE and POST MUTE AUX for the ZED60 mixers.... for some reason they chose to make them all PRE-MUTE !! Hopefully it's just as easy to bridge those as shown in the picture above at 190 seconds.

I have the same mute switch fault on my Mixwizard. Looks like it would be straightforward to clean the switch assuming that is the fault although you don’t say what the issue is.

Hi, can you explain how to make the post/pre fader direct out mod? I will be very gratefull!

    Thanks for the video.
I’m also one of those people searching for knowledge on the jumper settings for making the mono channel’s direct out post fade. Would you happen to know about this??
A&H tech support flat out refuse to disclose this information to me - ‘all schematics are strictly confidential’ so I’m told .
(I have no interest in stealing their intellectual property, just modifying my own desk in a way that is obviously designed to be an option )
Many many thanks in advance! 🙏

I will try to get some time to look at the channel board and see if I can figure it out.

With the solder link options, the post fader is made default by a thin copper track that bridges the post fader link pads, presumably so they don't have to solder it in production. However, this thin copper track must be cut (carefully). Then you can solder-bridge the pre-fader link (better to get a handful of surface mount 0-ohm resistors - the solder gap is so wide that it makes bridging difficult). The modification works likes a charm, but no reason why it should not. The service manual schematics show the pre-fader connections to Aux1, Aux2 and the solder links, which also go to Aux3. Just a matter of removing the post-fader line from Aux3 and feeding it the pre-fader. Frankly, I have no use for a post-fade aux track and the extra pre-fader is great :)

I'am using ZED14 but I found that the microphone Input signal is too weak! I must turn on the gain up to level: 4 hour to get fine turn. Could u show me about this problem!?

Hi, great video. Very helpful. I have one where I get response on the r XLR output, but not left. Thoughts?

I would suspect the final output op-amp if nothing at all is sounding out the left channel - or possibly some of the electorlytic caps on the same board.

@@Spiderelectron the final output op-amp - is that located on a small board located between the boards underneath the power board? Or on the board where the xlr outputs are? Working without a schematic here.

Hey man, I did a recap on my old analog mixer. All of the channels work great apart from one. When I plug it in it sends the signal to the master, but the signal is very weak. If I turn the gain right up it shows that it’s clipping, but the signal is still weak. Do you know what it might be?

    • @Spiderelectron

It sounds like the fault is after the gain/eq stage. Most likely a dead op-amp on the channel strip, or a short created during the re-cap. Try replacing the OP Amps on that channel strip.

@@Spiderelectron hey man thanks for the reply. I replaced the op amps today and I still have the issue. 😢 I guess I’ll have to see if I can find the short. It’s always my luck that just one channel doesn’t work.
