I enjoyed your review and your profanity like a sailor and a truckdriver. I was a sailor in my 20's then spent 25 years around truckdrivers and driving professionally i feel right at home !!! I subscribed....Thank you 💪
I like mine. I had more failures then you did with failure to feed. But I did clean it before I took it out. But now it runs fine. I have 250rd through it. It works with 7 8 10 15 rd mags in it.
I watched alot of review of people trashing this gun, after buying one new I took it to the range and had one stove pipe (which can happen to any pistol) out of 150 shots in a row and it ran beautifully and was so smooth and accurate, I'd break it in more before carrying it but after it's performance I would carry it now if I had to honestly
Properly assembled 1911 doesn't require a break-in. Your first jam indicates the extractor is a bit tight. You can tune it yourself in just a few minutes and the gun will run 100%.
Great video and info! Just picked up a Kimber Rapide Dawn. Looking forward to your part 2. A lot of people post negative comments on Kimbers (most have never owned one) but honestly, as you’ve mentioned a lot of different brand 1911’s have the same issues.
Exactly!! I hate people who judge a firearm based on what other people say hence why I go out of my way to prove them wrong, lol. I appreciate it brother!
Finally someone who understands 1911s. That goes for any brand 1911. Break them in properly and lube and clean. Please take back to the range after break in. It will run like a sewing machine. These are not out of the box run and gun. I have several I know. Great job explaining
I never had any issues with any 1911s I ever owned. Also, never experienced or heard of break in periods with 1911s. Typically, I run Colts and Springfields with no issues, and have fed them different types of ammo. They all perform flawless. This time I going to give Kimber a try since purchasing this model. The issues you probably are experiencing are from the tight springs in the magazine. I once had a similar experience with a Glock Model 17 Gen 2 years ago. I ran about 500 rounds through it before it broke in.
I had the same issues with Wilson mags as well. After a few hundred rounds it ran great but you are definitely a lucky guy because every 1911 I've owned fucked up a bit right out the box.
Mine out of the box did fine. I have a few hundred rounds through it and have only have a handful of failures. Mine is a 9mm and I did change the ugly grips.
I just bought the exact same gun yesterday. Same issue with jamming. To me it looks like the rounds are hanging up on the extractor. Some of my spent brass the rims chewed up a bit. Best thing to do is send a few hundred rounds thru it and see how it does. By the way, it is a damn nice gun.
Just subbed. I have a shadow ghost kimber. Any update on yours? How's she doing today? Run reliable? I plan on conceal carrying mine. Just want it to go BANG wen I pull the trigger. Thanks.
She runs like a top. I change the recoil spring about every 1000 rounds and still going strong. Just don't put hollow points in it. She will jam A LOT!
So 75 rounds though one of these only issue I had the whole time factory lube only was that front sight drifted um that model to so I guess I have a unicorn
Yes sometimes it's like that brother. That's why I emphasize a lot on it being my firearm. I don't like people seeing reviews and then assuming that every firearm is like that. But every 1911 I've ever had in my life always had to have a break in period so this Kimber is no different so far
@@trevorcunning6248 oh no doubt that's why I call it a unicorn it's too emphasize that sometimes some people get lucky I kinda did things backwards in that I bought that gun then looked up reviews on that specific model... it may have been an impulse buy but not my first 1911 I'll also add that 90% of the rounds sent though it where fed from a Wilson combat mag
Mine was tight and failed to feed the 1st 100 rounds but has been flawless after that 1st 100. Funny thing was it failed to deed ball but has been 100% with the Sig Hallow points.
@@trevorcunning6248 yeah a lot of people are under the impression that outta the box they will run like a Rolex, but some 1911s are built tight, and a lot of the more lower end ones 1500 and under need some work to help slick them up, a polished feed ramp and throat, properly adjusted extractor will do wonders!
Kimber doesn't have the reputation and reliability it once had. The older Kimbers seem to be a much more reliable gun than those new and unimproved ones. But your gun seems to do fine with feeding. Springfield has gained popularity over Kimber. I don't have either and I really want to buy a 1911 but am not sure if Kimber is the right choice.

Hell yeah brother. I'm happy to hear it!
I appreciate your review, nice to see one that is clearly new and lubed.
Thank you good sir. Gotta keep the 1911s wet.
Great review
Love the commentary as well 💯
I appreciate it brother. Thank you.

Yeah it's not so bad now. I had to throw about 500 rounds through the bitch before she started acting right but now she's smooth as butter
Potty mouth with gold but it's not real

Yes sir! Thanks for the feed back. It's well appreciated
I've got 400 through my lw stainless 45acp model and its been a great first 1911 for me.
Awesome sauce brother! I'm glad yours worked out for ya.

Tone down the cursing, not necessary. Good review

@@jamesprewitt1501 that's exactly the magazines I bought after I did this review. I love Wilson combat magazines
Is that a left handed model? I’ve never seen one…
No. The camera is backwards
Get u a high point brother. 1911s must night like u
😄

Now that is fucking crazy. Normally 1911s love their ball ammo but despise full metal jacket
Not convinced. Don’t think you really know DIDDLY about 1911s.
Good for you? 🤔
Sweet just picked up the lw night patrol custom it caught my eye can't wait to see how she runs:)
Good shit brother. Mine gave me a few hiccups at the beginning but started to run amazing after 500 rounds.
I did a vid on this as well and same results 1 failure to feed out of 45 rounds thru it
I try telling people that they need to be broken in but they think it's a Glock and runs perfect out of the box 🤷

Don't believe in break in periods, own multiple 1911's and no issues including my kimber
Dude you must have some badass 1911's! Everyone I have wouldn't shoot reliably until at least 500 rounds

That is facts! It's my first Kimber and it gave me a little problem at first but after 500 rounds she runs great
Enough f bombs dude
