Awesome! Thank you so much for making it so easy to watch. I wish more tutorials were like this one. I don't have the patience to sit through some tutorials because they waste so much time on unnecessary information or long drawn out video of simple tasks. Thank you so much for sharing what you know!

This was a wonderful teaching video. You make it seem possible. You slowed down in all the right places and speeded up when you could. Thank you.

Clay is versatile. Nice. I used to do this with layers of clay and gold leaf, slice it thin and apply pieces to wood turning pen blanks. Bake, sand and polish. Great effect. My husband was a woodturner. I am a mixed media artist, mostly fiber. Been a long time since I worked with clay.

Just wanted to say thanks for showing us the process, from beginning to end. It seems very involved, but worth the effort for the end result. If people only realized all the work that goes into your pieces.

I loved seeing the whole process & had often wondered how the flowers were made. As you went through the process I said DUH! OF course! how simple when you think about it but we see the end product & get bamboozled! You made it so clear. Thanks so much for sharing in a great way!!

The video was only put into timelapse up to fit the maximum time allowed by YT. It is always a difficult task to decide between speed and cutting sections out, and is a very time consuming process. This video took 3 days to record, edit, render & upload. Because of the time involved, I rarely split my videos, but I usually answer any questions that have not already been addressed in the comments so far :-)

apparently, 9 beads watched this video and disliked it. Obviously they feel mistreated.
I, however, give it a thumbs up and am very thankful. Definitely learned a couple new techniques from this, thank you so much!

As someone new to the idea of polymer clay, this has been one of the BEST tutorials I have seen so far which helped me to understand how to manipulate the clay into something wonderful. Also loved your little baking tray at the end. Will be stealing that idea for bead making, for sure ;) Thank you.

@MissCraftyChris The brand I used was Fimo Soft. I used various amounts for each colour - the gold for example was probably only a 1/4 block, but more of the other colours. I mixed the burgundy colour myself and cannot remember exact amounts as I made this cane many months ago. Sorry I cannot be more precise, but if you google you should find some tutorials that will give you exact quanities of clay for a variety of canes.

@dizzyrus1001 The project took virtually a full day, but I did stop and start, and you need to rest the clay after handling for a while, so there were quite a few breaks:-) The wire is 7" Stub Wire - I've had it for years - I think I found it in the floristry section.
