I always took his approach of less weight, more reps, more sets. Far less chance of injury and also will not destroy your joints later down the road when you're an older person.
You just have to get over trying to lift huge weight and worrying about people thinking you're not capable of it.

Amen to that, Jay Cutler is the men,and was the man to beat 30 years ago.
And now he is still the men, he is in great cheap, 30 years later now 50 years old and still going strong, and still humble and a really nice men.
And works every day since he was young, to make hiss brand bigger.
But how can train as nobody els, the true king off real hard training, and is now again in a insane good shape, its great to see the greatest and biggest bodybuilder off all time.
Still going strong, its mad, still the honger off succes, and the honger to eat 6 times a day, and train 2 times a day and 7 days a week, a hole week off training every day, eating the hole week, for one cause be the biggest and best again after 30 years.
Nobody can do this, only Jay Cutler. The best bodybuilder all time. Greetings from a BB fan how train since 1985 from Holland.

Oh yes he's trying to gain so much size when he was already competing at the top level and almost at peak leaness. You shouldn't really follow what they do, because you're not in their shoes.
But as for legs and every single other muscle just train it to failure (imo 10-16 sets a week [split to 2 days through the week for each muscle])

This is just my opinion obv, but it would be cool if there was a BB show with the same clout as the Olympia, but just with natural lighting and not requiring the crazy fake tan. Just like a normal representation/display of your body. I also think (hope) the mass monster look drops in favor (cbum def has helped accelerate this, I think). Idk, I just don’t like how shiny brown 350 lb dudes are the “peak” of body building and physique. Do love me some Jay though
Or maybe another way to look at it maybe the Olympia should divvy up that prize money a little differently and not make the gulf between physique, classic and open so wide
