My BPH got so bad, I was fitted with a catheter, and I was only 58. Thank God I found the right urologist, who after three quick and easy tests performed a green light laser surgery, an outpatient procedure. It was pain free, with virtually no side effects. BPH gone, zero symptoms, zero medications, full recovery in days, annoying urinary symptoms gone probably for life. I will forever be grateful I found that doctor. If you're having these annoying symptoms, you don't need to put up with it. There are permanent cures out there. The surgical technology has advanced well past tranuteral resection.

My Dad's urologist had my dad to have a biopsy. According to my dad it was very painful (and this is coming from a person with a high pain tolerance). First biopsy didn't find anything. His doctor got him a 2nd biopsy and still found nothing. Then his doctor wanted a 3rd third biopsy (2 biopsies over 2 years - 1 year interval). My dad refused for the third biopsy.
After doing research, the proper procedure was suppose to be an MRI first. And if the MRI shows suspicious area, only then a biopsy to the targeted area was suppose to be done. If the MRI doesn't show any suspicious area, then no invasive biopsy are needed. This is at an Australian public hospital where these procedure are government subsidized. Its a conflict of interest, because the more procedure done, the more the doctor gets paid.
The lesson here is to seek 2nd, 3rd, 4th, even 5th different doctors for other options.

This really works! Eating a tablespoon of pumpkins seeds, raw, almost daily, seems to help me urinate / pee the next day. And I do not want them to take out my prostate since I do enjoy a normal ejaculation even at my age (60+). Now, my dad had prostate cancer. Well, that's a whole new different ball game (usually not related to BPH); we'll see. But I'm trying to follow a healthy lifestyle, besides working part-time, night- shift as a nurse (and being sleep deprived). Thanks doc!

Zinc deficiency is most likely a / the major cause of BPH. PMC7424038, PMC3114577 ..
See e.g. YT video QLDV5sl3xGg for explanation of mechanism. With increasing age zinc absorption and loss becomes worse. Vegans have highest rate of zinc deficiency by far regarding blood levels: PMID26502280, mainly because the high phytate content blocks the zinc; and blood plasma zinc only goes low after serious depletion of buffers. so almost all vegans not supplementing may be zinc deficient.
Pumpkins seeds are relatively high in zinc, though also having blocking phytate - still only a small effect in normal amount.
Some 7mg / day of zinc supplement (best as zinz bisglycinat) may be generally advisable for vegans particularly and more so at older age. Zinc deficiency has many other consequences. Zinc is very critical for healthy cell function and thus aging.

according to this study ua-cam.com/video/VVJCHVEatqY/v-deo.html vegans are only déficients 3 nutrients : calcium (cause they dont eat their greens), iodine (algue), b12 (their dont take their supplements). When omnivores are deficient in 7 nutrients
plus we dont have to buy zing pill cause we just need to eat grain, beans and nuts to get proper zinc level

even in your study they say : ""BPH is not yet completely understood, the etiology appears to be under endocrine control and multifactorial"
low level zinc is just a marker not the cause
they need to put to the test with zinc supplementation and they also mention the lifestyle factor risk so its not a clear cut
on the other hand Dr Dean Ornish already put it to the test showing that plant-based diet is effective to reduce prostate cancer
