    Thank you for posting. To share this video, I've saved it to my large Arizona playlist, and to my smaller one as well. :) 17:00 shows the (cliff face of the) Mogollon Rim in the distance.

    Traveled it at least 50 times in 80s. I always liked where it goes right by Mt. Ord. It was a lot less developed back then. Rye was a gas station only.

    18 un-interrupted minutes of driving on a highway. Is it just me?

    The beeline along the rim pays on to show low is awesome. I had some video of driving there but I deleted it. It definitely would be a nice video for UA-cam. P.S. Thanks for this video, I have driven on this highway and was a passenger many times over the last 40 years.

      Along the Rim, it's SR 260. "The Beeline" is just that section of SR 87 between Fountain Hills and Payson. :) If you'd like to see sections of 260, and elsewhere throughout the state, feel free to take a look at my large Arizona playlist, or my smaller one (though 260 isn't shown in the smaller one, but Woods Canyon, the Rim, and the Heber Mustangs, and White Mountain wildlife are!) :)

    Beautiful, but all those turns scare me quite a bit

      Because this video is doubled in speed in editing, you can slow it in Settings by half (.5), mute the music and open another tab to play your favorite kind of music in that tab, and watch the slower paced video that way. Same with any "time-lapsed", 2x or faster drive-video. Slowing it down wrecks the music, so by muting it and playing your own musical choice in another tab, it still works. :) If you're looking for more great Arizona videos, I have 2 very fine Arizona playlists that you both might enjoy!

      @@uBpGK I'm far more comfortable with my highway driving and am considering taking that route when I can.

      I just did this route coming off I40 from Albuquerque just to see what it was about. There was definitely a lot more to see than coming down I17 in Flagstaff but it was challenging getting down that mountain as never drove down a whole mountain like that and I had to slow it down between 45-55mph around those turns. I have no idea who's bright idea it was to have the speed limit all the way up to 65mph even around those steep curves. I had to put on my flashers and keep on the brakes because it felt like I was going to flip over otherwise. Maybe large trucks with 4wd are better suited for these roads. Small fwd cars and even small SUVs, not so much.

    It’s ok for big trucks???

    • @cacatr4495
      @cacatr4495 3 роки тому

      Big trucks drive the Beeline, AZ-87, all the time. That's how truckers move goods from Phoenix to Mogollon Rim country, where a number of towns are.

    So someone just filmed themselves driving to Payson down the beeline? Crazy to think that country club goes out that far. Hopefully their hasn't been any wildfires. Too many times i have seen the destruction of wildfires on my way to Payson or flagstaff. Natural fires suck but the man made ones started from lazy ass human beings who Flick their damn cigarettes out the window should have a penalty of castration.
