Years ago we drove my daughter up Mt. Lemmon. At time marker 9 minutes in your video we pulled over to take in the view. My daughter said, Dad I could live here forever. A few years later she passed away. We drove her up Mt. Lemmon once again to that same sight and released her ashes into the wind so she could truly live there forever. We will always love you Tricia.

That is a sweet and special story. She is there and with you and everywhere else she chooses to be. She truly is free. May God be with her, until the both of you reunite and thereafter.

That's basically the gateway to windy point. Iconic enough that Arizona Highways sells a very nice print of an artists painting of that exact spot. Many nights I sat there on the smooth boulders of windy point stargazing when I lived in Tucson. I don't do organized religion but still consider it a holy place, like our creator put it there for us to celebrate and reflect on our existence.
It is so very nice that you laid Tricia to rest there.

I'm 66, I lived there in the early 60's when I was in the first grade through about 4th. Dad was stationed at Davis Monthan AFB and we lived on the base. Mom and dad would take my sister and me up to Mount Lemmon in the Summer to get away from the heat, and in the winter as well,... to see snow. The three of them are gone now. Dad was the last one out of four of us to pass away at 92 just recently,...and that's why I'm here, to try and remember the most precious times in my life. I'm sure that was the same road that we were on 59-60 years ago, and many good memories come flooding back watching this. It looks pretty much the same even after 60 years. Thank you for sharing.

A heart like yours cannot be compared with.
......Trying to re-live is not easy; remembering is,, as it is set off by a thought, an image, or in this case, actual footage of moments in your life.
Inclusive of myself; the road gets a bit rough without those who were once by your side.
Peace to you as you travel on!

Thank you for sharing, warms my heart and makes me smile... I did this drive often in the 70's and early 80's on my own and down the back side with friends... have been in Peppersauce caves and spent a lot of time in the 60's exploring Mt Lemmon with my parents who spent their honeymoon there. I lived just off the north side if the Catalina's on Linda Vista in High School right behind the football field at CDO and up off Skyline and Campbell while working at the at the end of Country Club the year I moved to California... my grandfather came to settle in Tucson because it reminded him of his childhood home in Poggereale, Sicily. My father was born in Tucson and grew up in the house on Olsen that his father built for his family. My mother attended the UofA in the 50's where she met my father. I was born at St Mary's hospital and was blessed to spend my childhood exploring Arizona and meeting friends at school from all over the country, from Canada and Mexico to Malta off the shores of Italy that had come with their parents to escape the snowy winters working for big company's that flourished in those years... Tucson has a charm all its own, the sunsets are unreal, the monsoons can be incredible and the food, rich cultural heritage and warm hearted people here are unforgettable, Mt Lemmon has countless lovely destinations, many areas to hike, have an outdoor meal and enjoy the forest or a day in the snow, there is always a breath of fresh air just a few minutes a way from the traffic and crowds in Tucson. Always loved seeing the city lights from Windy Point though I do miss the over hang, it will forever be missing for me. Warms my heart to see this film of yours... Thank You!

What a great video! I was born and raised in Tucson Arizona but I have lived in Springfield Missouri for the last four years... I SURE MISS HOME!!!!! I was showing a friend how the terrain changes so much from the valley going up the mountain. I love how Tucson Arizona has two separate worlds! Thanks for sharing!

I loved driving up here when I lived in Tucson. I liked how to temperature would drop drastically going up.

You might find my large Arizona playlist enjoyable, a video tour of much of the state. It features Mt. Lemmon and the Catalina Highway among the many videos; it has a lot of good footage of the local scenery. :)

There's a full moon rising on the desert sky tonight
Lord, it's good to be on my way home
Over that horizon I know it's gonna be alright
I'm going back to my tanque verde home
    WHERE THE CREEK BEDS WIIIIND
    from the Ricons up above
And the storm clouds line the mountains that I love
It's the closest place to heaven this young man's ever known
I'm going back to my tanque verde home
Traveling round the country for a dozen years or more
Funny how your point of view can change
I finally found the rainbow that I've been searching for
It's right above the Santa Catalina range
    WHERE THE CREEK BEDS WIIIIND
    from the Ricons up above
And the storm clouds line the mountains that I love
It's the closest place to heaven this young man's ever known
I'm going back to my tanque verde home
I'm going back to my oro valley home

hello I'm just wanting to know if it was okay to use some of the footage in this video so I can put in a lip sync music video I'm doing called Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls I don't make any money from this my channels not monetized it's a form of artistic expression and to inspire others they can do things in life that make them happy as long as they don't hurt anybody.
I can put you as the credit for the road footage in that video If You Want It please let me know I'm working on it like I've already got some scenes already taken a day if not I'll use some other footage from somebody else thank you

Sudah jauh gak ketemu rumah mirip sumatra tempo dulu tapi pinggirnya hutan lebat gak ada orang. Saking gobloknya aku masuk daerah hutan belantara. Yatuhan ada harimau nyebrang jalan. Oh gass poll tuhan menyertaiku naik motor cowok. Karena hobby saja. Ketemu pos tentara lama gak ketemu lagi. Oh semua tinggal kenangan. Dulu ada hamba tuhan digerejaku dari daerah ini. Oh daerahnya jarang penduduk. Namanya hamba tuhan. Mukanya sabar sangat memberkati yg melihatnya. Muka surga.

I’m pretty sure it’s sped up, because when he pulled over, an SUV went by abnormally fast

Here's a link of a video of the real-time journey up the mountain, taking 49 minutes, which is the drive-time it takes from the NE side of Tucson. ua-cam.com/video/vbrjX2p1-_s/v-deo.html The video is part of my large Arizona playlist > ua-cam.com/play/PLFEITHFwj_JWOGJMPzwUwZ7RFQbcxr-q2.html which is a compilation of over 1200 videos, an organized video tour of Arizona. Naturally, I've placed it in the Tucson section of the playlist. The playlist focuses on Nature, terrain, vegetation, wildlife and weather, rather than on cities or businesses. It does show some towns, a lot of natural beauty, and the diversity of landscape that is Arizona. :)

This video is what might be called Time-lapsed, sped up greatly. You can slow it down by clicking on the Settings (gear) icon in the lower right corner of the screen, then clicking on Speed, and then on .25, which slows it down to about normal for that road, such that the viewing time is then about an hour. Because it has no music, you can open a new tab and play a beautiful album to listen to while you watch the journey. If you need some beautiful-music-album suggestions, you can take a look at my Calming Music playlist, which also has nature sounds like wind in the trees, etc. It has a lot of beautiful-music albums. If one prefers smooth or slow jazz, I also have a nice playlist of that too.

The poster didn't use a filter in the editing process (to filter the strong light), and as you probably know, the seriously bright sunshine "washes out" the colors. In real life, or shaded skies, the green is there, even in Winter, but strong, bright sunshine can overpower colors.
